Astro-Notes on July 17 and 18, 2012 – justification and reinvention

Yesterday, Mars in Libra formed a trine with Jupiter in Gemini, who is also engaged in a tense semi-square to Eris in Aries, and then squared retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, which indicated that action taken in the name of justice and fairness or to rectify or equilibrate a situation has resulted in convincing others and winning them over if we used the right approach and influenced the matter by asserting ourselves in a cultured or sophisticated manner instead of forcing our viewpoint or engaging in an argument. In any case, discord had to be overcome with wisdom, whereby we had to recognize the most opportune moment for our ‘strike’ and know our allies from our foes. However, we might have given in to temptation, phobias or psychic complexes later on when our courage and drive vacillated, losing out on an opportunity to mingle or socialize.

Tarot card of the day was “Death”, a card that marked an ending and the completion of a chapter or the concluding of unfinished business. We had a chance to put the past behind as we were going through an issue we had deal with, while we rode our fate.

Today, Jupiter in Gemini perfected his quincunx to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn as Ceres in

Gemini squares retrograde Chiron in Pisces, implying that this time the necessary adjustment had to be made to be able to deal with a biased and shallow or superficial viewpoint one way or another in order to resist those psychic compulsions. Thus, as the conditions forced us to become more flexible we were challenged to overcome a problem or an issue, where we tend to shoot ourselves in the foot and that has been a recurring source of wounding. Eris stationed retrograde at 6:21 pm EDT at 22:43 Aries and will remain in retrograde motion until January 8, 2013, which corresponds to a period when we have a chance to introspect where we are at discord, struggle with our emerging Self and experience identity crises. Mars in Libra’s opposition to retrograde Uranus in Aries confronts us with changes, which could throw us off balance, demanding that we reinvent ourselves by assessing the ‘threat’ and our approach to it.

Tarot card of the day is the “4 of Wands”, a card that deals with openings and gateways we can step through, giving us a chance to get out of an oppressive situation or escape from unhappy circumstances. This card has an uplifting, celebratory quality about it and brings people together. We’re moving from one stage to another.

Personal Note: I had an early shift yesterday, which didn’t leave me any time in the morning to write on the blog. After work I wanted to head to the beach originally, but found a million excuses not to, because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to handle the parking situation. The long shift together with the extreme heat and humidity had made me pretty tired. Therefore, I went down to the river later in the evening, but the approaching storm clouds chased me away after an hour. On my way home I had to seek refuge from the downpour underneath a tree. Wet, but not soaked, I showered and then went to bed, knowing that I would fall even farther behind with my blog. Today was my day off. I used the opportunity for a visit with my dear friend Sharon, who drove to London with me for a little shopping spree. On my way to her and back I had to come to terms with road constructions and detours – whether I liked it or not. We stopped at Angie’s store and heard some discouraging news from her as she was in the process of rearranging the furniture in her store. The inspector prohibited her to offer tea, because she doesn’t have a double sink. Well, she realized it’s time to reinvent herself. Everybody of us has lots to deal with in these trying times, but we support and aid each other – all in time for the Cancer New Moon.
