Reflections on June 4th, 2010 – what’s your magic?

Early in the morning Chiron stationed retrograde at 00:59 Pisces, shifting awareness of the wounding and healing principle inwardly for the next 5 months to allow us to reconnect with the matrix of life when Chiron will be retracing his steps through the sign Aquarius a last time. With Mars in Leo opposite Neptune Rx in Aquarius we are confronted by our weakness, contradicted by disillusionment and enlightened by insights to concentrate on our strengths, to bring us face to face with our intentions so that our motives are exposed and we no longer waste our energy on activities that bring no reward and no return. Because this is the Third Quarter Phase in the Taurus lunation cycle, “the crisis in consciousness” we’re undergoing challenges us to reflect upon the bits and pieces of information we have assimilated and what picture or image they reveal, indicated by the waning Moon in Pisces squaring the Sun in Gemini, which is also in the context of the Sabian Symbol for this lunation – the Indian warrior, who’s fiercely riding with the collected scalps hanging from his belt. Juno in Gemini’s square to Saturn in Virgo asks us what it is that we have to show or going for us and which cause this does serve, thereby fitting us in the proper category. This exercise helps us to become conscious of how efficient we actually are and where we squander our efforts.

The health fraud in food advertising has been reported by Forbes, saying that “foods masquerading as drugs” have become a huge business as this “functional food” industry has grown into a $160 billion business worldwide. Cereal producer Kellogg is also in trouble again for dubious claims used in ads that mislead parents about the effect of their products on children. – These folks have collected a lot of money using fraud to sell their products (Mars-Neptune is exposing their fraudulent, hidden motives; Juno-Saturn labels them as tricksters; Chiron shows the wounding principle – in Pisces it’s deception; the signs Gemini and Leo bring children into this ‘play’).

2 sisters found nearly $18.000 in an abandoned duffel bag, noticed the police and they returned it to the owner. Their honesty made one Utah car salesman very happy. – These gals had good intentions and got also rewarded for their noble deed (Mars-Neptune). The Juno-Saturn square indicates that they did the right thing by calling the police, Chiron shows the healing principle in this case, because if they had kept it this would have been a tragedy for the salesman – in Pisces it’s based on compassion and higher values. The Gemini-Leo connection refers to the sisters and the car salesman.

Tarot card of the day is “The Magician”, suggesting that we have the power to create what we envision. How appropriate! Personally, I’ve been contemplating in how many different ways I tend to undo myself and how much of my energy is squandered daily on projects that bring no return. I was particularly reminded of this after I had moved outside with my astro stuff and the humidity started to lull me in with the effect of no productivity on my side, of course. All the while I observed my neighbor mowing the lawn and planting in her garden, thereby interacting with her neighbor from the other side. The point is that I feel like being trapped when I sit inside all day in the company of my rabbit. But I seem to choose the wrong place from where to work and to connect. My Virgo rising may make me also appear a bit aloof and mentally withdrawn (absent-minded), giving to others the impression not to be bothered. While I was running errands in town this morning it came to my attention that I don’t really interact with the people I encounter, mostly keeping it to the minimum politeness. Yeah, Chiron has turned around, allowing me to see myself in a different light as well as my role in the scheme of things. 🙂

Reflections on June 3rd, 2010 – mad as a hatter?

Yesterday saw 2 tense octile aspects made by the inner planets – Mercury in Taurus engaged in a sesqui-quadrate to Pluto Rx in Capricorn and Venus in Cancer in a semi-square to Vesta in Virgo. Ongoing power struggles have put a serious strain on our relationships, in particular so after recent developments have forced us to use firmer language in order to state our frustration. There’s not much room left for sensitivities anymore. Things obviously don’t work out the way they are and we feel the pressure of past missteps that must be corrected somehow. Therefore, we may want to reconsider the effectiveness of the manner in which we demonstrate our influence to be able to protect our interests under the current circumstances.

BP’s underwater robots have succeeded in shearing through the pipe atop a blown-out well in the Gulf of Mexico, calling it a “significant step forward”. They also said that a cap to contain the oil was over the spill and would be lowered “in the next couple of hours.” This, however, would now be more challenging. It won’t be known how much oil BP can siphon to the surface until the cap is fitted, but the irregular cut means that the fit won’t be as snug as officials had hoped. Earlier Thursday, BP’s Hayward acknowledged the global oil giant was unprepared to fight a catastrophic deepwater oil spill and added that the company will be on the Gulf coast for a long time cleaning up the spill and will continue until every drop of oil is recovered. Meanwhile, a third trip for U.S. President Obama to the affected area has been announced, where he will examine the latest efforts.  – Their unpreparedness to handle one of Pluto’s treasures – the black gold – was admitted through Mercury’s crises-related aspect contact to the latter. Venus’ aspect to Vesta shows that they keep working on this problem, albeit with limited success, and have committed themselves to see this through to the end.

The New York Time reported that the Obama administration believes Israel’s blockade of Gaza is untenable and wants to see a new approach that would allow more supplies into the impoverished Palestinian area while guaranteeing Israel’s security. On Monday, Israeli commandos raided a flotilla of ships — that sought to run the Israeli blockade and deliver aid — in an operation that killed nine people. White House officials said that the raid gave strength to a growing consensus within the administration that U.S. and Israeli policy toward Gaza must change. – The blockade doesn’t work – it only led to killings and outrage (Mercury-Pluto) – a new approach is wanted that seeks to satisfy both sides (Venus-Vesta).

Tarot card of the day was “The Druid” with the message that guidance comes from above. There may be a need to seek spiritual guidance from one who is respected, or from a way of thinking that conforms to a specific framework. In a way that was true for me as I had to go to the walk-in-clinic again for more medication. However, there was a different physician on duty, who made another appointment for me with my doctor for next week. The health care system here in Canada is deteriorating. When we arrived at the clinic nobody was there to open the door and start with the registrations. People had lined up and the doctor had to call around for another assistant. So, I spent quite some time there. Originally, I was going to dedicate a part of this blog to my favorite cousin, who’s birthday was yesterday, but since I also got a call from the specialist’s office regarding an appointment, I was busy making arrangements in the afternoon and at night I had to warm up dinner and joined J to watch the movie “Alice in Wonderland” from Tim Burton. It was made beautifully, in my opinion, no matter what the critics say. A reason for me feeling this way about this movie might also be that I can’t remember the story – I’ve seen the original only once, which was way back when I used to live in Germany. Great entertainment after the frustrating experience at the clinic. Not to mention that watching the brilliant Johnny Depp perform is always a delight for the eye and isn’t the madhatter, a term that stems from Mercury-poisoning of hatmakers, a perfect example of the Mercury-Pluto aspect? Or the girl/woman Alice in Wonderland for the Venus-Vesta aspect? The Druid also brought the connection to the spiritual world up.
