Astro-Notes on February 20, 2011 – chaotic air traffic

I was going to write this post yesterday prior to the airing of our BlogTalkRadio show to give you an overview of the daily energy weather and to provide you with a link to the show. But as I looked at the aspects I realized this was going to be a difficult day and a challenging show for that matter, which was restated by the Tarot card I drew for that day: the 8 of Pentacles reversed, a card that speaks of problems at work, a lack of commitment to partnerships or lack of cooperation, a wasting of energies and doing things the wrong way under which professionalism will suffer and therefore it is recommended to do the part you have to do and to step it up.

The Moon had ingressed balanced, pleasant and sociable Libra in the early morning hours EST. However, around noon time she was squaring off Jupiter in Aries, which corresponded to the time when I got a call from my mother in Germany and we talked for over an hour, and after that she was also squaring off Pluto in Capricorn. At that time, I had decided to focus on the notes I had prepared about Chiron’s mythology instead of writing the blog post. This was a smart decision, because I was able to dig into my psyche and found the appropriate correlations in terms of keywords derived from the mythological story. “Coincidentally”, Chiron in Pisces was in sextile aspect to the North Node in Capricorn as we were going to dedicate our show to Chiron in Pisces and also wanted to discuss this placement in the natal 3rd house. So, the opportunity (sextile) was created, but there was also a semi-sextile happening between Venus in Capricorn and Ceres in Aquarius in addition to a sesqui-quadrate between the Sun in Pisces and Saturn Rx in Libra, the ruler over the North Node and Venus, and if that wasn’t enough Mercury, Mars and Neptune met in conjunction in Aquarius and this took place on my natal Saturn. What this aspect picture indicates is an adjustment between the ‘prepared for approach’ and the unfoldings in cyberspace or the concerns of my Mom about my ‘being home alone’ situation in this harsh, cold winter and her not knowing what is going on over here and where this will lead to interfering with my plans for that part of the day and then what happened actually on the show. Due to what could be called ‘a lack of cooperation’ I had to close all windows and restart my computer just 1 minute prior to the airing of the show! Thus, the show started a couple of minutes later and we had already 4 callers lined up. After I responded to the first of them, which took longer than expected, we agreed to ask the other ones if they would be waiting another 10 to 15 minutes so that we could at least introduce the topic of our show and the listeners to the mythology and keywords referring to Chiron’s archetype. Because the technical arrangements require from me to host the show and the chatroom, I could really feel the pressure this triple conjunction applied on my Saturn. Don’t get me wrong – we were delighted to have so many people call in and actively participating in the show – time was just flying by. However, in retrospect I must admit that it was a bit chaotic and stressful and since I’m singlefocused (unfortunately – my Mercury is singleton in fire) I could not even really listen to what Ed was saying and explaining, while I was responding to chatroom requests. So, it was all a bit overwhelming (Pisces) and we couldn’t really follow our ‘script’. Therefore, we decided to continue with this theme next Sunday. We hope we will have at least one Chiron expert joining us on one of our upcoming shows. Moreover, we invite everybody to call in or log in to the chatroom or comment on our blog to join the discussion on this fascinating topic.

If you missed our show yesterday, here’s a link where you can download and listen to it: Well, this link didn’t work for me. So you might want to use this one on itunes: – it’s the top post, numbered 1: Talking with Ed and Verena. Description: Chiron

Full Moon magic

With the Leo Full Moon as the last of 5 consecutive Full Moon’s in the last degree of a sign polarity things have really come to a head – personally and on the world stage. The revolutionary spirit has been spreading since Mars (in Aquarius) ruled Jupiter entered Aries the last week of January, the pace of events has been accelerated and the necessity of cooperation (Saturn Rx in Libra) and realization of our commonality and common cause (Neptune in Aquarius) has united us in solidarity (Chiron in Pisces). This is beautifully expressed via the Sabian Symbol’s statements for the Leo Full Moon, which talk of “messages and thoughts inevitably to be shared with all men” (Moon) and “the merging of many individual minds into the glowing light of a unanimous consciousness” (Sun).

In the late afternoon on February 17 during the leadup to the Full Moon did J come over to discuss with me the next steps in our separation proceedings. I had drawn the “Prince of Swords” as Tarot card for the day, which indicated that we were active and committed to developing ideas to their full potential. The transiting Sun was also conjunct transiting Neptune in Aquarius in conjunction with my natal Saturn. Neptune rules houses 7 and 8 in my chart, the areas of legal contracts, important others and shared resources. Though with Mercury in Aquarius in semi-square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn and Venus in Capricorn in another semi-square aspect to Chiron in Pisces agreements were only reached after we went through some struggles. Typical for the Full Moon energy I was quite agitated and therefore found the perfect outlet for my stirred up emotions by engaging in belly dancing, which we did on Friday evening at our Full Moon circle. Each of the women who participated was dressed up nicely and we all had so much fun learning a few of the moves. As we sat together afterwards we enjoyed wonderful conversations. The connection among us was great, inspiring and based on a sense of cameraderie. I bartered services with Sharon and Melissa. Can’t wait for that to happen. Tarot card of the day was the “5 of Pentacles reversed”, implying that faith and confidence were growing and promising an end to difficult times.

After lunch on Saturday, February 19, did I pack all the boxes I had in the house with my stuff. The transiting Sun was conjunct Chiron in Pisces and sextile the North Node in Capricorn and transiting Mars in Aquarius formed a t-square with my natal IC/MC axis when I took these steps to move things forward so that I’ll be able to start a new chapter in my life and close this cycle that was mostly defined by suffering. Tarot card of the day was the “7  of Wands”, which lays emphasis upon consolidating our present position.

I’ll write another blogpost about this event later today. Stay tuned. 🙂

Astro-Notes on February 13, 2011 – mental prowess

The Moon is traversing Gemini, providing a light, busy, chatty atmosphere, that is colored by Gemini’s ruler Mercury’s conjunction with Ceres in Aquarius, which marks the start of a new cycle of supporting and sustaining differentiating or specializing thought processes or in other words, mental nourishment (food for thought comes to mind) that furthers our intellect and individuality as well as social interconnectedness, causes and ideas of progress or reform. However, the Mercury-Ceres conjunction is also engaged in a tense semi-square aspect to the North Node in Capricorn, which stresses caution and demands a sense of preparedness and responsibility, particularly in regard to consequences.

Tarot card of the day is the “King of Swords”, indicating mental prowess, logic, cleverness and quick-wittedness, displayed in clear thinking, in being innovative in creating change and in using jugdment, command and authority.

I’m preparing myself for our BlogTalkRadio show at 4 pm EST and heeding my own advice will be careful about what I’ll say when we’ll be talking about the 3 charts we’ve put up on our blog Tune in and join us at

Astro-Notes on February 9-10, 2011 – wrapping it up

Yesterday, February 9, the Venus-Vesta-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn drew to a close and today the Sun in Aquarius cast a semi-square to it, while Venus has moved on. Egypt is awaiting President Mubarak’s speech in which he’s supposed to announce that he’ll step down tonight. However, according to Open Channel he could be leaving with $2 billion, a gesture which carries the Venus-Pluto signature. Naturally, the emotional intensity is heightened in Egypt and so is the revolutionary spirit (Vesta-Pluto), albeit an undertone of fear of a military takeover. The situation for me personally has reached a point, where I started packing yesterday evening with the help of my daughter, who took the first load with her into her home and suggested a moving date in mid April. J didn’t experience any complications during his surgery yesterday, but two of his clips came already out today. So, he’ll have to get stitched up tomorrow in a Londoner clinic and once he’ll be feeling and doing better we can move on with the separation proceedings. Meanwhile, Ed and I put up the charts we’ll be talking about this Sunday in our next show on BlogTalkRadio and added our notes. Comments are appreciated. Here’s the link to our website:

Astro-Notes on February 6, 2011 – On air

The month February started off for me with a skype call from Ed Peterson, a numerologist with whom I’m connected on Facebook and who asked me what has happened to me because of the name change he had noticed. At the time of the call the Moon had just entered Aquarius, approaching conjunction with the Sun for the New Moon event, Mars in Aquarius cast a semi-square to Uranus in Pisces, the ruler of Aquarius, dispositor of all these energies and the upcoming lunation, Vesta in Capricorn had engaged in a square to Jupiter in Aries and Pallas in Capricorn in another square to Saturn Rx in Libra. Tarot card of the day was “The World”. So, there was quiet something going on as this lunation cycle was closing, which was also expressed in the Tarot card. Ed had contacted me before, some time in the summer, to have me on his BlogTalkRadioShow. I had agreed, but it didn’t work out. Of course, he asked me again and this time he wanted us to have our own show together – not just me participating in one show. Mars in Aquarius’ semi-square to Uranus in Pisces stressed teamwork as a means or the proper strategy (Pallas square Saturn Rx) to advance the cause or project, which also forced me into making a real commitment to this new opportunity (Vesta square Jupiter) I had been presented with. However, there have been quite a few technical difficulties we had to get out of the way before we could give this enterprise a chance. Once Mercury had ingressed to Aquarius, we experimented with different methods and finally resolved the problems, which put me in a position, where I have to host the show (note all the Capricorn influence on the day of the initial offer). Our first show aired yesterday, February 6, with Sun conjunct Mars in Aquarius, signaling the start of a new cycle of creative self-expression through this teamwork project on the Internet. The chart for my location had 28+ Cancer rising. Thus, the Ascendant of this chart was trine Uranus (ruler over the lunation and Aquarian energies) in Pisces in the 9th house (Internet broadcasting), over which the Moon (ruler over the ASC) had just passed. She was occupying 29+ Pisces, triggering the Lunar Eclipse degrees from December 21 and the promised show was indeed on, with us, the faithful, having received the blessings. This chart has moreover Jupiter in Aries (disposited by Mars in Aquarius) in highest elevation (broadcasting) and the Sun-Mars conjunction lining up with the 8th house cusp, which portrays the sharing of energies in this joint venture.

Still, the Moon was void of course in the last degree of Pisces and Uranus in Pisces opposite Juno Rx in Virgo in the 3rd house. I lost my Internet connection at least 3 times during the show and the tone quality from my end is really not the best as you might notice if you choose to listen to the show. Here’s the link:

Tarot card of the day was “The Magician”, which speaks of initiating projects and making creative ideas a reality. True to the card, it was a day filled with aspects that would provide the energy to ‘create what we have envisioned’, amongst them aspects from the Sun-Mars conjunction to the North Node, Jupiter and Saturn Rx and a square between Venus in Capricorn and Jupiter in Aries. The latter especially highlights the discomfort of getting ‘kicked out’ of the show. 🙂

Astro-Notes on February 2, 2011 – Snow Day

The forecast snowstorm began yesterday night. When I came into the kitchen this morning and saw the snow piled up on our backyard door I realized that I had to get ready for snow shoveling. After breakfast I collected the garbage and then went outside, grabbed the snow shovel and cleared the stairs and our driveway. I noticed that no kids were passing by to go to school. Unsurprisingly, they won’t pick up the garbage either, although the roads are free. Snow plows have been busy since the early morning. Well, today is an aspect-filled day, amongst them a square from Venus in Sagittarius and a sextile from Mercury in Capricorn to Uranus in Pisces, indicators of a cancellation and other unwelcome surprises, which can cause quite some upset and discomfort. I experienced another revealing moment when it came to my attention that I had missed a few of today’s aspects when I wrote my monthly forecast. The calendar view didn’t show them all, because there are so many that they wouldn’t fit in that small window. Thus, I’d like to add a few thoughts to my interpretation, especially now that the Sabian Symbol pertaining to the Aquarius New Moon has been even more elucidated by the meaning of the Tarot card I drew for today – the 7 of Cups. This card speaks of limitless diversity expressed in a multitude of choices and possibilities, which is also evident in the sheer amount of aspects in this chart. Jupiter in Aries’ square to the nodal axis marks a turning point on our destined path, where events and developments have the potential to take us by surprise and carry us away in an overwhelming manner, which could be throwing us off course or we could feel overrun, thrilled by the prospects and simultaneously holding our breath under the onrush of feeling sensations, which is very aptly depicted in the symbol of the “train entering a tunnel”. The 7 of Cups emphasizes a narrowing of focus, similar to the ‘tunnel vision’ the symbol portrays. There is a need to reflect upon our choices and to adopt a wait-and-see policy. Vesta’s conjunction with the North Node in Capricorn urges us to remain grounded, practical, organized, firmly focused and dedicated to our life’s goals. Whereas Mars’ conjunction with the Aquarius New Moon pushes and propels, providing the energy to move projects forward, the influence of Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces in the aspect pattern relates to the illusory part contained in the image of the 7 of cups, which states that not all that glisters is gold. With Mercury in Capricorn and Juno Rx in Virgo involved in the aspect dialog, discernment and practical and realistic thinking are integral to our decision making process.
