Astro-Notes on May 31, 2011 – attractive options

Janis' The Lovers Tarot Card from Flickr Images

With the inner planets’ engagement in hard octile aspects – Venus in Taurus casts a semi-square to Uranus in Aries and Mercury in Taurus a sesqui-quadrate to Saturn Rx in Libra – strong tensions felt on the emotional and mental levels may impel us to reorganize our agenda and instigate change, following a sudden impulse that calls for decisive action in a situation, where we want to make some headway. As Pallas stations retrograde at 15:49 Aquarius at 7:09 pm EDT, intelligent strategic maneuvering becomes all important for progress to happen. Pallas will retrace her steps from mid Aquarius to 27:11 Capricorn, where she will turn direct on September 24. This corresponds to a phase of rethinking our ideology and individual politics until we can lay down concrete steps to prepare for the future at the end of the retrograde. After the Moon’s ingress to Gemini at 7:56 pm EDT and subsequent square to Neptune in Pisces, the mood lightens up, allowing for adaptability and flexibility, but first we’ll have to overcome the state of confusion or disorientation we could be experiencing.

Tarot card of the day is “The Lovers”, coming with the message ‘The most attractive option is not always the right one’. This card stands for tough choices where moral values are questioned. We may have to go against conventional wisdom and also resolve inner conflicts so that an ‘inner marriage’ can occur. Choices we are presented with are not simply black and white; neither may they be resolved in a logical way.

Astro-Notes on May 24, 2011 – guided by the inner light

After the Moon’s ingress to Pisces at 8:23 am EDT and immediate conjunction with Neptune we could be feeling like drifting off or spacing out, fantasizing, idealizing or imagining, while listening to our inner voice and seeking to attune us to the cosmic current in our longing for a revelation that can make us whole. As the waning Pisces Moon squares the Gemini Sun at 2:52 pm EDT for the Third Quarter Moon phase of the Taurus lunation, the subsequent “crisis in consciousness” challenges us to overcome the state of scatteredness and disorientation that seems to have taken hold over us lately and to reconnect with our vision or dream. With Venus in Taurus in quincunx aspect to Saturn Rx in Libra, it’s time for an inner adjustment in order to realign with our goals and achieve a sense of contentment and emotional wellbeing.

Tarot card of the day is “The Star”, coming with the message “Inspiration is my guiding light”. We have inner faith and the belief that we’re following the right path, hoping that things will continue to improve. Chances are we gain fresh insight into an old problem, heal a wound, restore our vitality and open up our horizons. Moreover, we’re now in a position, where we are able to give of ourselves – letting the light out – while being open to receive, allowing a flow of love and light to come to us as well as radiate from us.

Astro-Notes on May 22, 2011 – sweet justice

With the perfection of the Gemini Sun’s square to Neptune in Pisces, the rose-colored glasses have come off for some and the veil of obscurity has been removed for others as the light has been seeping in and we recognized it’s indeed a new day. Both, Mars and Venus in Taurus, in close pursuit of Mercury, are casting sesqui-quadrates to the North Node in Sagittarius prior to their impending conjunction. Following yesterday’s frenzy, the regaining of a state of inner balance, while keeping up outer appearances, has been our foremost goal today. As we continued with our usual routine, enjoyed the day or simply rested and relaxed, we could reassess which course of action to pursue next.

Tarot card of the day is “Justice”, coming with the message: “I seek balance and harmony in all that I do”.  This card is calling on our ability to see both sides of a situation and is moreover telling us that excesses have consequences. We are urged to make adjustments and do whatever is necessary to bring things back into balance.

Astro-Notes on May 21, 2011 – obsessive thoughts

The Sun’s ingress to Gemini at 5:21 am EDT begins a phase of intellectual curiosity, fact and information gathering and of adapting, learning and connecting, when our lives will become busier and our self-expression more lighthearted and easygoing as well as dualistic and versatile. His imminent square to Neptune in Pisces urges awareness and objectivity amidst a confusing situation in order to be able to see both sides of the issue and also through illusions and delusions. With the Sun’s dispositor Mercury in Taurus involved in a tense sesqui-quadrate to the North Node in Sagittarius and Mercury’s dispositor Venus in Taurus engaged in a flowing trine to Pluto Rx in Capricorn we may insist on the righteousness of our ideas and convictions, tempted by strong passions and desires. Therefore, opening our mind to new information, considering alternative options and reassessing our life direction accordingly is heavily stressed to bring us back in touch with our senses and ground us in physical reality, a task which is supported by the Moon’s transit through Capricorn. Once she enters the void of course period at 5:04 pm EDT after her square to Jupiter in Aries we may take some time for reflection and rest in order to gain a new understanding or a fresh perspective that will provide us with inner stability. Her ingress to Aquarius at 10:31 pm EDT and subsequent semi-sextile to Neptune in Pisces could trigger revealing insights, which could help us to release any remaining turmoil and to change our feelings about the events that have caused this.

Tarot card of the day is “The Devil”, coming with the message: “I can untie the binds and set myself free.” There is a chance that we could be manipulated by negative, hidden influences or be controlled by our environment and our own attitude as well as a fear of taking our power back and being responsible for ourselves and our situation. We could moreover be overly concerned with material security and overwhelmed by physical desire. These worries may be preventing greater fulfillment, because they keep us trapped. Consequently, we could be learning something about our obsessions.

Case in point: Proclaimed end-of-the-world scenarios that deem this day as Judgment Day and led to the organization of ‘raptures’. Well, no raptures here – we actually experienced a power outage this morning.

Astro-Notes on May 17, 2011 – Scorpio Full Moon

As the Taurus lunation cycle culminates with the Scorpio Full Moon at 7:08 am EDT, the seed impulse – the compulsion for gain (keynote for the Taurus New Moon)is peaking, causing us to tap into our root power in order to Self-preserve and to secure our material existence. Self-mobilization for social advantage leads to Self-promotion and elaborate and elegant demonstration of our inherent talents, skills and capabilities.

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 26:13 Scorpio states:

“A military band marches noisily on through the city streets. Keynote: The aggressive glorification of cultural values – POMP.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 26:13 Taurus states:

“An old Indian woman selling the artifacts of her tribe to passers-by. Keynote: Peaceful adaptation to collective needs – ADJUSTMENT.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and Its 360 Symbolic Phases”, Pages 207-208 and 86-87, respectively)

A semi-square from the Scorpio Full Moon and a sesqui-quadrate from the Taurus Sun to Saturn Rx in

Libra together with a quincunx from the former and a semi-sextile from the latter to Jupiter in Aries emphasize the need to cast ourselves in the best possible light to ensure that our performance impresses. With the perfection of the Vesta-Pallas conjunction in Aquarius today, spirit and strategy blend for the advancement of our individual cause, thereby enabling us to orchestrate everything to our advantage. After the Moon’s Sagittarius ingress at 1:22 pm EDT, moods swing toward optimism and enthusiasm, giving rise to a sense of adventure, expansion and enterprise.

Tarot card of the day is “Judgment”, which comes with the message that freedom from bondage awakens our soul. This card indicates a time of reckoning and a moment of judgment when we are asked to make a final decision or heed a call in order to move on.  There is an awakening to possibilities, a knowing what we must do, which could well lead to resurrection.

Astro-Notes on May 15, 2011 – new motivation

The emotional climate will intensify, giving rise to powerful feelings, which could compel us to share or merge our resources in a joint venture, thereby releasing all obsessing tendencies in a psychological cleansing, after the Moon’s ingress to Scorpio at 12:31 pm EDT and subsequent trine to Neptune in Pisces. A sesqui-quadrate from the Mercury-Venus conjunction in Aries to Juno in Virgo provides the necessary impetus to propel us into resolving a testing relationship situation we’re struggling with by starting over with a new attitude in order for things to finally work out. After Venus’ ingress to Taurus at 06:12 pm EDT, where she will be traveling until June 9, which is followed by Mercury’s at 07:18 pm EDT (traversing Taurus until June 2), we’ll be getting more in touch with our inherent values and talents, seek emotional comfort and wellbeing, build up our self-worth, think practically and persuasively and focus on material concerns and emotional security needs.

Tarot card of the day is the “4 of Cups”, suggesting a time for emotional re-evaluation and a need to look deep within to gain clarity. There could be disappointment in someone or with a situation or we could feel disheartened or discontent, bored or apathic, all of which calls for a fresh start. As we receive new inspiration after contemplating and envisioning, we realize there is still an avenue for fulfillment once all the answers are in.

Astro-Notes on May 11, 2011 – leaving a difficult situation

Mars’ ingress to Taurus at 03:03 am EDT, where he will be traveling until June 21, corresponds to a time when we are intent on building things in matter, accumulating material comfort and securing our existence, while acting persistently and productively to sustain our initiatives. After the Moon’s ingress to Virgo at 09:58 am EDT, subsequent trine to Mars in Taurus and opposition to Neptune in Pisces a missing piece could fall into place or an effort bearing fruit, providing us with resolution to a matter of uncertainty. As Venus and Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Aries an opportunity opens up that signifies the start of a new cycle of strongly focused and committed activity to the new direction we’re embarking upon.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Swords”, which indicates that we are leaving a difficult situation and moving out of troubled waters toward achieving our goals and aspirations as an anxious, worrying period is drawing to a close. There may be more challenges ahead, but we are over the worst. The movement this card brings has the ability to restore the inner harmony.
