Astro-Notes on September 27, 2011 – Libra New Moon

Yesterday, September 26, when Mercury in Libra cast a quincunx to retrograde Chiron in Pisces I was so drained and tired from an almost sleepless night I had experienced that I could barely function. Therefore, I went to bed as soon as I returned from my full shift at work, for which I had to get up so early to be able to use the bathroom before my daughter would go in there. The weather resembled my mood and sleepiness – starting noon time it was pouring rain and the air was filled with humidity. Business was very slow at work, which made it even worse for me to keep my eyes open and focus on what I was doing. In fact, my waking consciousness was so severely affected by this that I felt like I’d be sleep-walking all day. Thus, I wasn’t able to prepare myself adequately for my job interview this morning, but at least I was rested. The Tarot card for the day resembled the message – “the 4 of Wands” is associated with well-earned rest and sitting back for a while. Moreover, all day long I had ‘to stand my ground’. Yet, plans are beginning to come together as first tangible successes have been achieved.

Meanwhile, Mars in Leo had formed a quincunx to Pluto in Capricorn, Mercury in Libra an opposition to retrograde Uranus in Aries and the Moon had made ingress to Libra at 00:50 am EDT, which shifted the mood from fretting, worrying and withstanding signs of fatigue to relaxing, smoothing things over and taking it easy as we adjusted our personal approach to manage our resources – physical and material – and acted backed by the force and charisma of our personality, thereby exerting our influence. There was not much concern for deliberation, evaluation or comparison – decision-making happened quickly – in the spur of the moment. I got hired on the spot and have been busy signing papers, meeting my new team, visiting the store in Clinton, where I’ll be working and writing a letter of resignation in addition to making appointments, doing my laundry, searching for apartments and fixing myself something to eat. With the New Moon in Libra (at 7:08 am EDT) in square to Pluto in Capricorn and retrograde Uranus in Aries, conjunct Mercury in Libra and sextile Mars in Leo, the new impulse that is sounding forth challenges us to break free of limiting and unstable circumstances and to change or reform arrangements, contracts and partnerships, while focusing on more harmonious surroundings for the cultivation of our creative intentions.

The Sabian Symbol for the Libra New Moon states:

“Around a campfire a group of young people sit in spiritual communion. Keynote: The necessity to unite with kindred spirits as one enters unbeaten paths illumined by the still-insecure light of a dawning intuition of new values – IN-SPIRITING.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations And Its 360 Symbolic Phases”, Page 174)

Tarot card of the day is “The Tower”, signifying inevitable change that can bring liberation and freedom. Our present lifestyle, attitude or people in our environment are changing. There might be shock due to the suddenness of the events as well as upheaval, but if we’ve been stuck in a rut this will help us to climb out of it.

Astro-Notes on September 25, 2011 – emotional maturity

The Moon’s ingress to Virgo at 00:49 am EDT, which calmed and tempered the emotions, setting us in a sober and industrious mood, is followed by Mercury’s ingress to Libra at 5:08 pm EDT, a sign the winged messenger will traverse until October 13, which corresponds to a time when our communication style is more refined and our attitude more cultured or sociable, our thinking process is more balanced, our rhetoric rather conciliatory and polished and our focus is on relationships, harmony, cooperation, fairness and agreement. An opposition between the Sun in Libra and retrograde Uranus in Aries could bring unexpected confrontations or internal conflicts, which could leave us feeling uneasy and undecided. Vesta in Aquarius’ semi-square to retrograde Ceres in Pisces together with Venus in Libra’s sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Neptune in Aquarius stress the importance of making the right choices so that we won’t have anything to regret later on.

Tarot card of the day is the “King of Cups”, representing the balance between the emotions and the feelings. We have the ability to remain in control over our feelings and this emotional maturity helps us to deal with life’s challenges.

Astro-Notes on September 24, 2011 – mind over matter

Mercury in Virgo trines Pallas in Capricorn and casts a quincunx to retrograde Neptune in Aquarius. Another quincunx is formed between the Sun in Libra and retrograde Chiron in Pisces. This suggests that we have worked effectively and successfully on achieving an objective, realistic and practical viewpoint on things (an objective approach to the life force – keynote for the Virgo lunation cycle), which enables us to put all false expectations aside and look at our circumstances with more clarity of perception and improved vision, while letting us be re-inspired by our original ideals. Thus, we adjust our role accordingly, aware of the sensitive issues and more emotionally balanced.

Tarot card of the day is the “Knight of Swords”, who is an idealist and a master of abstract thinking, which is also indicative of us applying mind over matter, while putting aside our emotions to make informed decisions. This card often reflects a time when we are embarking on a new project or idea (follows after the Autumnal Equinox and the Ace of Pentacles), setting goals and committing us toward them. We’re ready to overcome any problem, challenge or obstacle in our path and have the ability to defeat negative energies. It’s a time when we are charging ahead, focus our attention and filtering our thoughts and imagination into cohesive ideas and projects.

Astro-Notes on September 23, 2011 – Autumnal Equinox

As retrograde Ceres in Pisces formed a semi-sextile to retrograde Eris in Aries and Venus in Libra a quincunx to retrograde Jupiter in Taurus, who also received a sesqui-quadrate from Mercury in Virgo, more adjustments had to be made in favor of our Self-interests to ensure our continuing growth. After I had sent out 2 resumes yesterday night, I received a call from one of the company’s where I had applied for an office position already this morning (September 22) and went through sort of a preliminary interview with a nice, young Lady on the phone. She called me again in the early afternoon to arrange for another interview, which I had to set up for next week, because of my work schedule. Thus, I felt quite elevated by these developments and when I arrived at work for my short shift they asked me if I could come in for an extra shift on Saturday. Suddenly, things seem to be working out to my advantage in the job arena (transiting Mercury in Virgo has squared off my natal nodal axis today and is opposite Jupiter in Pisces in my Solar Return chart, where Jupiter rules house 6 of employment), but with everything going on I can’t focus on my astrological career anymore. However, this has never been a matter of either/or, even though the job search had to take precedence over my astrological aspirations for the time being as my livelihood depends on it, which doesn’t mean that this particular ‘relationship dynamic’ couldn’t change at one point in the future. While typing this, the Moon has made ingress to Leo, precisely at 9:55 pm EDT, centering our feelings on ourselves, our hobbies, spare time and creative inclinations.

Tarot card for the day was the “10 of Swords”, which advices us to let go and accept our current circumstances. We no longer resist change, but allow it to happen. It is time to pick ourselves off the ground and reflect upon what happened and what we can learn from the experience. There is evidence of an impending change or ending, which may initially be difficult to accept. We’re turning a corner and leaving behind one of the worst chapters of our life.

This is followed by the Sun’s ingress to Libra at 5:04 am EDT, which marks the Autumnal Equinox and thus, the beginning of a new season – fall for the Northern Hemisphere and spring for the Southern Hemisphere. The Sun’s crossing over the intersection point of the Celestial Equator and the Ecliptic in the West and change from North to South Declination (in the Northern Hemisphere) corresponds to a time of transition and gear change. Day and night are of equal length with the nights growing longer and the days shorter from now on. Summer has ended, nature is beginning to batten down, darkness is increasing and it’s getting colder. It’s a time of harvesting and taking stock, of turning inward and reflecting that makes us aware that we are part of and affected by a larger wholeness to which we must respond and adapt. A phase of restoring our balance and bringing harmony to key life projects and relationships is beginning. The chart set for this moment, which I posted below, has relevance for the next 3 months.

A trine from Mars in Leo to retrograde Uranus in Aries marks the completion of a period when the forces of change stimulated determined and purposeful Self-assertion on our part and pushed us into making progress in order to move forward in life again, whereby we actively and creatively re-engaged in the process of individualization. From now on, headway can be made and action taken in matters of Self-motivation, liberation and independence. Mars casts moreover a tense sesqui-quadrate to the North Node in Sagittarius, also linked by sextile to Saturn in Libra, which denotes the new season as an opportune time for evaluating and balancing the structures in our life to fit the long-term perspective we have conceptualized in regard to our future prospects, stressing the focalization of our intentions in this context. – This is how far I came this morning before the First Response Team entered the house for yet another inspection. Oh well! Interferences with our activities were in the astro weather forecast – with Mars trine Uranus this had to be expected! I’m glad I managed to get ready for work though. Good thing is, Pallas, who has been traversing in retrograde motion since June 1, will station direct at 27:11 Capricorn at 11:38 pm EDT, concentrating our focus and consolidating our mental strategy.

Tarot card of the day is the “Ace of Pentacles”, indicating the beginning of new investments, especially into the material world, and the manifestation of our goals in this regard. We may see coming new opportunities our way and we may move into a more positive state of mind about what we can achieve. There is a general feeling of abundance, prosperity and being deserving of these things.

Astro-Notes on September 21, 2011 – make your move

With Mercury in Virgo in quincunx aspect to retrograde Eris in Aries, Mars in Leo in quincunx aspect to retrograde Chiron in Pisces and the Sun in Virgo in quincunx aspect to retrograde Neptune in Aquarius, it was a day of adjustment when the energy shifted in a way that stimulated Self-determination, enabling us to tend to our wounds and practice our ideals. Because transiting Neptune is conjunct my natal Saturn, this adjustment in my schedule or routine had to do with my workplace. I had just had breakfast and was in the process of dressing as I received a call from my manager, asking me if I could come in for an additional shift. This left me with less than an hour to get ready for work and send out the cover letter and resume I needed to submit at my earliest convenience this morning, but I managed. Thus, I scored points on both accounts – at the place where I work and at the place where I’d like to work. As Mercury in Virgo also forms an opposition to retrograde Ceres in Pisces (triggering my natal 3rd house Sun and Pallas), our attention returned to matters we need and long to resolve to be able to close this less than perfect and ideal cycle or phase. Therefore, we had to take care of the things on our agenda as well as of unfinished business. Upon returning home in the late afternoon, I found a couple more office positions in the local newspaper I’ll be responding to later tonight. Things are definitely moving.

Tarot card of the day is the “8 of Wands”, representing a very focused kind of motion and activity, a time when we need to strike while the iron is hot. It encourages us to move quickly to pursue the best opportunities available right now.

Astro-Notes on September 20, 2011 – informed decisions

The Sun in Virgo’s trine to retrograde Pallas in Capricorn signals that our strategy has finally worked out and we’re getting to the bottom of a problem. As the waning Gemini Moon squares the Virgo Sun at 9:38 am EDT for the Third Quarter Moon, the accompanying “crisis in consciousness” is testing our connections for their usefulness and effectiveness, which challenges us to make informed decisions when we need to do so in order to improve our life and keep things moving. A sextile from the Juno-Saturn conjunction in Libra to the North Node in Sagittarius provides an opportunity for the evaluation of relationship dynamics in long-term perspective, where we can take charge of our own destiny by reaching out and trying to find common ground with important others. After the Moon’s ingress to Cancer at 2:53 pm EDT and subsequent semi-sextile to Mars in Leo, the atmosphere is more supportive of our personal intentions and at the time of her trine to retrograde Chiron in Pisces we may feel taken care of and ‘warmed’ on the inside, whereas her square to retrograde Uranus in Aries later in the evening causes some emotional turmoil that forces us to liberate ourselves from the past. Mercury in Virgo’s sesqui-quadrate to Vesta in Aquarius calls for progressive thinking in order to advance our cause, inspiring mental efficiency on our part.

Tarot card of the day is “The Hermit reversed”, encouraging us to go more deeply into our inner being and rediscover our greater meaning and purpose on this Earth. We need to search within our soul, which will help us to find our way again and to focus on rebuilding ourselves on a spiritual level. It’s important to not underestimate the value of staying connected with others, while being mindful of other people’s needs too. We need to become involved in life again. It’s not our outer circumstances that need to change, but the way we look at them.

Astro-Notes on September 19, 2011 – readiness for change

I was writing on this blog post

Mercury in Virgo’s semi-square to Mars in Cancer, who forms a quincunx to retrograde Neptune in Aquarius, emphasizes the need for a careful approach, based on awareness of our habitual reactions, in order to improve our connections and gather support for our plans and initiatives. As both, Juno and Saturn in Libra, cast a sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Chiron in Pisces and the Sun in Virgo another one to retrograde Jupiter in Taurus, it is critical to restore the harmony in a relationship situation where we have to come to terms with our interdependence, while consciously and effectively working on our common goals and growth so that healing may ensue, which requires moreover to get a better grasp on how we express and conduct ourselves. With Venus in Libra in opposition to retrograde Uranus in Aries, we may want to start all over and reconcile our differences. After Vesta, who has been traveling in retrograde motion since June 22, stations direct at 06:08 Aquarius at 5:56 pm EDT, we may feel newly inspired in this regard and devote us toward progress, while focusing on the choices we have.

Tarot card of the day is the “Ace of Cups”, which is presenting an opportunity for fulfillment. It can indicate the start of a new relationship and has a generous, compassionate component. Positive emotion and energy will be created between two people as love is the essence of the situation. We can make peace with friends or with ourselves. This card is also associated with conception and allows for creative expression.

as I realized that I wasn’t connected to the Internet anymore. Assuming that this was just a temporary issue, I shut down my computer and thought I might publish this later on when I’d be back from work. However, there was still no connection available at that time in the evening and since my mind was preoccupied with the unresolved home situation (Mercury in Virgo semi-square Mars in Cancer), I couldn’t figure out what caused this problem (Mars in Cancer quincunx Neptune Rx in Aquarius/Sun in Virgo sesqui Jupiter Rx in Taurus).Besides, I felt emotionally unstable as inner and outer harmony had been destroyed and the ‘wound’ was just all too present, lingering on in the atmosphere like a toxic spill and bugging me, bringing out the worst in me as a way of ‘keeping score’ to hurt the son of a b…. back in the meanest possible spirit I could imagine (Juno-Saturn conjunction in Libra sesqui Chiron Rx in Pisces). Anxiety had grown into anger, which let the lower instincts getting hold on me and consequently, I was staring into the abyss within. Lucia and Mike had left early in the morning with J, who took them all the way to Brampton, where she had found a car that appealed to her. She had also talked to Mike when he was sober again and had now taken it upon her to bring this situation to a satisfactory conclusion. With all her Capricorn energies supported by a Mars-Pluto-SN conjunction in Scorpio, acting as a power combo, she is already tackling the job issue. I’m so proud of her and of everything she has accomplished and is mastering every day. We’ve been having a few long and deep conversations since the ‘incident’. Eventually, she’ll get out of that bad relationship she’s outgrown for a longer time already. I’ll be asking all of my friends to pray for that.

As the Internet problem persisted the next morning too, I finally looked into it, while applying my focus to it and realized that I had accidentally had switched off the wireless connection. Because I don’t have a desk, the laptop is always sitting on my lap when I’m working with it. So, this can happen without me noticing it. The Juno-Saturn conjunction had perfected (signifying the beginning of a new cycle of balancing our relationship principle within the rules of engagement) and received a semi-sextile from Mercury in Virgo, while Venus in Libra squared Pluto in Capricorn. That morning, Mike and I started talking to each other again. Although the ‘bad blood’ between us hadn’t been ‘cleaned up’, we were nice and respectful, picking up where we left off before the strife, which helped me to overcome the hate and feelings of vengeance. With the Sun out and me having off, Sunday turned into a beautiful day. Lucia and I went grocery shopping and then down to the square to see what the situation is there. Of course, it’s not the same anymore. Ravaged by the tornado, the place has lost its charm, which makes it easier for me to move away from here, which is what I think will be happening should I be lucky enough to resolve the financial issues. Meanwhile, Mike had 2 pieces of roast slowly cooking in the newly purchased crock pot, which we then took over to the Thom’s, where we all gathered for a lavish meal. Since my diet doesn’t allow me to have some of the ‘goodies’, I had a few shots of wodka with water instead, which made it impossible for me to work on the computer upon our return home. I went to bed with the thriller I’ve been reading instead.  Mars made ingress to Leo at 9:50 pm EDT, where he will be traversing until November 11, which corresponds to a phase when our activities and intentions center on ourselves, our creativity and Self-realization. Tarot card of the day was the “Ace of Pentacles”, which represents the dawning of a new period of realization and prosperity. There may be new beginnings, which could cover all aspects of our life. We may be entering a particularly productive phase. There is security and contentment, an air of solidity and permanence.

Today, September 19, Mercury in Virgo squared the nodal axis and Venus in Libra trined Vesta in Aquarius. Lucia’s meeting with her boss had to be postponed, because he was too busy with customers and my blogging had to wait until tonight, because I was too busy with other things. My friend Sharon came over during her lunch break and we uplifted each other, knowing that all it’ll take is a leap of faith to make it through these testing times. No more worrying and doubting; things will turn around again and work out in our favor – we just need to believe in it and consciously work on our progress. Tarot card of the day is “The Fool”, symbolizing the start of a new journey. We have to be prepared to take some risks to make big gains. This card represents spontaneous action, unlimited potential and readiness for change. It’s time to seize the day.
