Astro-Notes on December 31, 2011 – celebration

The Moon made ingress to Aries at 4:48 am EST, which could have caused us to rise early, especially with the

conjunction to Uranus, there was a strong possibility that something interfered with our sleep. In any case, the mood is now action-oriented and our environment is filled with all kinds of noises from the activities that have been set in motion. Juno in Scorpio’s semi-square to her dispositor Pluto in Capricorn compels us into managing the complexities of our relationship dynamics through organization and control of our circumstances, thereby intensifying our commitment toward end results. As Venus in Aquarius sextiles the North Node in Sagittarius, our anticipation in regard to our future prospects is increasing and consequently, as the day progresses, we feel more excitement, optimism and elevation, which opens us up toward changing values and priorities in order to reach our long-term goals.

Tarot card of the day is the “4 of Wands”, a card that deals with openings and gateways we can step through as we move in the New Year, which brings a new vibration to which we already strongly resonate due to all the hype that has been building up toward this special, singled-out year. In this context, the theme of ‘homecoming’ associated with this card is readily recognizable. Unsurprisingly, we get a sense of things climaxing to a big event, which is happening all over the world in form of New Year’s Eve celebrations. It is indeed the perfect card for this last day of the year 2011, when we all join together in ‘party mood’.

Astro-Notes on December 30, 2011 – taking our chances

A semi-square between Pallas in Aquarius and her dispositor Uranus in Aries stresses that we take our chances and make smart choices, which advance our cause. Clever maneuvering will assist us instigating change and could lead to progress.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Wands”, suggesting that things are changing in a positive way. There is the possibility of acclaim and acknowledgment. It could be our day to shine or we could be coming out on top. We strive to be successful and seek to promote ourselves more frequently in order to gain the recognition we desire. However, it is important that we keep the ego in check.

Astro-Notes on December 29, 2011 – consummation

The Sun’s conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn marks the beginning of a new cycle of gradually establishing

personal influence and strengthening our role or performance by managing our life’s conditions from a position of power and with a sense of control. As the Sun shines his light into ‘the darkness’ and thus into the deepest recesses of our psyche, we may get a glimpse at our soul’s potential (psyche is the Greek word for soul) and concrete or constructive instructions/hints for personal empowerment and Self-realization in this regard. Therefore, we need to be ready for regeneration based on a new stage of personal experience.

Tarot card of the day is the “10 of Cups”, symbolizing happiness, joy, contentment and emotional fulfillment, especially in the areas of family, home life and relationships. This card moreover represents attainment of an almost idyllic state, allowing us to appreciate everything we have accomplished, to be filled with gratitude for the blessings we have received and to enjoy the ultimate satisfaction of a long-term relationship. We’ve reached a genuine state of ongoing contentment and can now reap the rewards of our efforts. More than anything else, this card indicates lasting spiritual happiness. It foretells success and also that things will work out to our advantage. It augurs permanence and growth.

Today is my friend Angie’s birthday. May the universe shower you with all the blessings you deserve and this be the best personal year ever, dear Angie!

Astro-Notes on December 28, 2011 – giving and receiving

Mercury in Sagittarius’ sextile to Pallas in Aquarius together with his sesqui-quadrate to Jupiter in Taurus offer us a chance to demonstrate our social intelligence through gestures meant to reach out in order to sustain our moral principles and extend our good will. As the Sun in Capricorn casts a semi-square to Juno in Scorpio, who forms a quincunx to retrograde Eris in Aries, personal integrity is essential to establish trust in our interactions with others, which requires that we express ourselves in accordance with what we’ve learnt lately in small, simple acts of kindness and consideration. After the Moon’s ingress to Pisces at 6:45 pm EST, instant sextile to Jupiter in Taurus and semi-sextile to Uranus in Aries, we’re well attuned to the social scene and open to receive and recognize the possibilities from which progress might ensue.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Cups”, representing among other things the principle of giving and receiving, when it might be our turn to give back, share what we have, act kindly and generously and are generally well-intentioned. It’s important to be keenly aware of the blessings in our lives.

Astro-Notes on December 27, 2011 – mutual understanding

Mercury’s third and final conjunction with the North Node in Sagittarius has brought us to a point of understanding that enhances our future prospects, especially in long-term view. With Venus in Aquarius in a tense semi-square aspect to Ceres in Pisces, a change of heart and/or perhaps of style too is demanded in order to inspire a flow of support that unites rather than divides.

Tarot card of the day is the “2 of Cups”, suggesting that there is a mutual understanding between the people involved in a relationship and that interactions are balanced and harmonious, because of an awareness of the expectations each person has, which allows for growth and very special relationships. Our focus is on win-win situations as we show kindness and thoughtfulness.

Personal Note: Today was my Family Christmas and it was a day I enjoyed very much, not just because I spend it in the company of my daughter, but also because I kind of reunited with my ex mother-in-law, with whom I always had a special relationship. All of us had a great time and we exchanged gifts and shared stories of our experiences this year. Ruby, her cute little dog, went totally crazy as he saw me. She couldn’t tame him; he was just too excited as he jumped up and down to shower me with dog kisses. It’s too bad really that we’re living so far apart and can only visit a couple of times during the year, but who knows what the future holds now that I have a car.  This nice day was only possible, because my colleague Tammy switched shifts with me. Thank you Tammy! You’re awesome!

Astro-Notes on December 25 and 26, 2011 – the merriness of Christmas

On December 25 at 5:07 pm EST did Jupiter, who has been traveling in retrograde motion since August 30, station direct at 00:21 Taurus, allowing us to perpetuate our growth and understanding in the areas of our lives where Jupiter is transiting in our chart and over which he rules. With Jupiter traversing my 9th house, I got ‘swamped’ by multiple connections as my mail started to pile up and several friends commented on my postings all at once. At work, where I had an extra shift for which I’ll get paid time and a half, my hours were even extended, because nobody assigned to the late crew showed up and therefore I stayed as long as I was permitted to complete my job – in this case: condensing and stocking the for boxing week marked down candies, chocolates, cookies and sweets (Taurus).

Tarot card of the day was “The Lovers”, which indicated choices where moral values are questioned, especially in relationship situations. A decision must be made about which we could have felt divided. We might have been struggling with temptations and needed to remember that the most attractive option is not always the best one. Problems could have been overcome via reconciliation, through harmony and cooperation.  – So true! Surrounded by all these goodies I got a craving for some chocolate, which I satisfied at first by nibbling on those pieces I had set aside as claims, because they were unsellable. Unfortunately, my body reacted to this ‘provocation’ right away. Thus, I wished I could have opened one of the bars of dark chocolate that contain a high percentage of cocoa and a low percentage of sugar, but since we didn’t have any registers online I couldn’t purchase one and simply opening one is just not an option, although I must admit I felt tempted for a moment! When I turned around at the door and decided to help out for a bit longer, I made another moral choice that was at the same time a “chance to prove myself” (keynote for the Capricorn New Moon). The “3 of Swords” (Tarot card for the Capricorn New Moon) is a card that also reminds us to count our blessings and for the 2 days I drew this card I got offered more hours, which is ensuring my growth financially and thus providing emotional security (Taurus).

Today, December 26, Mercury in Sagittarius formed a semi-square to Saturn in Libra, whereas Venus in Aquarius cast a semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn, which are ‘suitable aspects’ for Boxing Day, when people streamed in masses to the stores to take advantage of the sales and then had to put their purchases for the most part on their credit cards, which many of them maxed out. Even though, in the end, they won’t save much, because of the high interest rates. However, those, who manage their finances with a better understanding of the conditions involved, got a few really good deals. Many of them planned already for a year ahead as they purchased such Christmas items as wrapping paper, Christmas lights, candles and cards, for half of the regular price. It was busy, crazy and crowded in our store. People were frenetic and we had a hard time to keep the overview over the store, the merchandise and the registers. Appropriately, the Moon made ingress to Aquarius at 12:14 pm EST, instantly squared Jupiter in Taurus and sextiled Uranus in Aries, which amped up the hype and added to the ‘chaos’.

Tarot card of the day is “The Hanged Man”, which comes with the message ‘to rest now and let everything find its own balance’. We had to ‘hang in there’. Struggling would have served no purpose. The ability to adapt to changing circumstances can bring inner peace.

Astro-Notes on December 24, 2011 – Capricorn New Moon

On December 24, the Moon made ingress to Capricorn at 8:46 am EST, instantly formed a sextile to retrograde Jupiter in Taurus and a square to Uranus in Aries, which provided us with a chance to sustain the structures we have been building and uphold the inner disciplinarian if we were able to recognize the necessity of this and keep our more rebellious side in check. At 1:06 pm EST did the Moon meet the Sun in conjunction for the Capricorn New Moon event.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 2:34 Capricorn states:

“A human soul, in its eagerness for new experiences, seeks embodiment. Keynote: A powerful yearning for whatever will increase the scope and depths of one’s contacts with other living beings – A STRONG DESIRE TO PROVE ONESELF.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and Its 360 Symbolic Phases”, Page 231)

Implied by this symbolical picture is an impetus of ambitiousness – so typical for the Capricornian energy – that comes through in form of readiness to ‘jump’ at the occasion, thereby taking advantage of the opportunities offered in a quick and smart move that could further our future prospects as we’re trying to score points by presenting us in a light that’s meant to impress, while at the same time promoting our special cause, which is also suggested by Pallas in Aquariussextile to the North Node in Sagittarius. Consequently, our receptiveness to growth and understanding will assist us to stand out and be recognized for the difference we can make.

Tarot card of the day was again the “3 of Swords”, indicating in this case a separation in form of distinguishing ourselves, which allows for heartfelt breakthroughs in our lives. As this card comes after the “2 of Swords” for last months’ New Moon, resolution of the tensions inherent in the symbolism of the number 2 have been found and choices made. We’re getting to the heart of the matter as we’re piercing through the veil of obscurity, focus our intentions and are motivated by the dawn of a new beginning. The number 3 refers to the triune principle, which resulted in synthesis as the outcome of a mental process (the suit of swords).
