The Sun in Virgo forms a quincunx to retrograde Pallas in Aries and follows up with a semi-square to Venus in Cancer (see yesterday’s post), who is also involved in a semi-sextile to Ceres in Gemini, indicating a strategic adjustment on our part that brings out our Self-determination and will in order to ‘fix’ or correct personal problems, which stand in the way of our happiness – whether this concerns our contentment, appreciation, emotional and financial security or relationship bonds we cherish and depend on. Consequently, we’re making several, literal last-minute attempts to reach out for support. With Mercury in Leo, dispositor of Ceres, moving into the apex position of a t-square with the nodal axis in Scorpio/Taurus (all of them in the last degree of their respective signs) though, we’re dealing with ‘fixed situations’, where we are left to our ‘own devices’ and have to rely on ourselves or our own creativity and ingenuity. As the seed impulse of the Leo New Moon culminates in the Pisces Full Moon at 9:58 am EDT together with the impulse that sounded forth at the time of the Pisces New Moon back in February, our worth is revealed (keynote for the Sabian Symbol for the Leo New Moon) in the expression of our originality and individualized sense of value and our indestructibility (keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Pisces New Moon) leads to Self-quickening. Accordingly,
the Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 8:33 Pisces states:
“A jockey spurs his horse, intent on outdistancing his rivals. Keynote: Intense mobilization of energy and skill in the drive for success in any social performance affected by the competitive spirit – SELF-QUICKENING.”
The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 8:33 Virgo states:
“An expressionist painter at work. Keynote: The urge to express one’s individualized sense of value regardless of tradition – ORIGINALITY.”

Implicated in the messages of these symbolical pictures is the Full Moon’s (Sun and Moon’s) connection to retrograde Chiron in Pisces (spurring our horse) that propels us into accessing our hidden or latent strengths (intense mobilization of energy and skills) in order to ‘save the day’ and thus ourselves from ‘losing’, caving in or being defeated by showing what we’re made of, which is very much in the sense of “once in a blue Moon”.
“I lost everything. I found myself.” Rumi
Mercury will make ingress to Virgo, one of the signs he rules and where he will be traversing until September 16, at 10:32 pm EDT, which corresponds to a time when we analyze our ideas, plans and agendas together with our surroundings and means of transportation for their functionality and efficiency and focus on the improvement of our skills, our ability to communicate, connect, relate, associate and travel or move around.
Tarot card of the day is the “8 of Swords”, suggesting that we need to look at a difficult situation from a new angle and with a different perspective. Because our thinking is limited and we’re struggling to see a way out of our dilemma, it is imperative that we open our eyes to the options that lay in front of us. There are choices available, but in order to recognize them, we have to get into the right mindset first (think: Even a blind chicken finds a kernel of corn now and then).
