Astro-Notes on August 31, 2012 – Pisces Full Moon

The Sun in Virgo forms a quincunx to retrograde Pallas in Aries and follows up with a semi-square to Venus in Cancer (see yesterday’s post), who is also involved in a semi-sextile to Ceres in Gemini, indicating a strategic adjustment on our part that brings out our Self-determination and will in order to ‘fix’ or correct personal problems, which stand in the way of our happiness – whether this concerns our contentment, appreciation, emotional and financial security or relationship bonds we cherish and depend on. Consequently, we’re making several, literal last-minute attempts to reach out for support. With Mercury in Leo, dispositor of Ceres, moving into the apex position of a t-square with the nodal axis in Scorpio/Taurus (all of them in the last degree of their respective signs) though, we’re dealing with ‘fixed situations’, where we are left to our ‘own devices’ and have to rely on ourselves or our own creativity and ingenuity. As the seed impulse of the Leo New Moon culminates in the Pisces Full Moon at 9:58 am EDT together with the impulse that sounded forth at the time of the Pisces New Moon back in February, our worth is revealed (keynote for the Sabian Symbol for the Leo New Moon) in the expression of our originality and individualized sense of value and our indestructibility (keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Pisces New Moon) leads to Self-quickening. Accordingly,

the Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 8:33 Pisces states:

“A jockey spurs his horse, intent on outdistancing his rivals. Keynote: Intense mobilization of energy and skill in the drive for success in any social performance affected by the competitive spirit – SELF-QUICKENING.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 8:33 Virgo states:

“An expressionist painter at work. Keynote: The urge to express one’s individualized sense of value regardless of tradition – ORIGINALITY.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 273-274 and 156, respectively)

Implicated in the messages of these symbolical pictures is the Full Moon’s (Sun and Moon’s) connection to retrograde Chiron in Pisces (spurring our horse) that propels us into accessing our hidden or latent strengths (intense mobilization of energy and skills) in order to ‘save the day’ and thus ourselves from ‘losing’, caving in or being defeated by showing what we’re made of, which is very much in the sense of “once in a blue Moon”.

“I lost everything. I found myself.” Rumi

Mercury will make ingress to Virgo, one of the signs he rules and where he will be traversing until September 16, at 10:32 pm EDT, which corresponds to a time when we analyze our ideas, plans and agendas together with our surroundings and means of transportation for their functionality and efficiency and focus on the improvement of our skills, our ability to communicate, connect, relate, associate and travel or move around.

Tarot card of the day is the “8 of Swords”, suggesting that we need to look at a difficult situation from a new angle and with a different perspective. Because our thinking is limited and we’re struggling to see a way out of our dilemma, it is imperative that we open our eyes to the options that lay in front of us. There are choices available, but in order to recognize them, we have to get into the right mindset first (think: Even a blind chicken finds a kernel of corn now and then).

Astro-Notes on August 30, 2012 – serving our desires

As the Sun in Virgo approaches a semi-square to Venus in Cancer, both of them engage in stressful aspects

with retrograde Chiron in Pisces – an opposition and a sesqui-quadrate, respectively – and retrograde Eris in Aries – a sesqui-quadrate and a square, respectively – in addition to the Sun’s quincunx to retrograde Uranus in Aries. Consequently, as it becomes more critical and feels more acute to us to improve our life by taking care of our personal priorities and fostering contentment and wellbeing, we’re confronted by unresolved issues and unfulfilled longings, situations we couldn’t work out or where we feel helpless, dependent on circumstances we don’t like and cannot rely on and which are therefore a source of dissatisfaction, disappointment and personal difficulties or dysfunctionality and even loss. So far we seemed to be unable to bridge these issues, but now we’re forced to face up to them, which requires that we overcome our inner discord, no longer struggle with unmet needs, but fight for what we want for ourselves and bring out our competitive side, while reinventing ourselves and reforming our methods. After the Moon’s ingress to Pisces at 6:30 pm EDT will we seek out healing, release and wholeness.

Tarot card of the day is the “Knight of Cups”, symbolizing that we’re full of zeal as we serve our desires. We’re on a journey of imagination and creativity, where our idealism and love principle will be put to a test. Therefore, we’ll have to follow our heart in order to find our path.

Astro-Notes on August 29, 2012 – reckoning

Mercury in Leo casts a sextile to Saturn in Libra and a square to Juno in Scorpio, who has perfected a semi-sextile to the former, providing us with an opportunity to organize and set up agendas, thereby arranging for important personal meetings with the focus on mutual interests and finding agreement or common ground in order to be able to come up with resolutions for relationship situations that need some compromise, cooperation or accommodation. With the Sun in Virgo involved in a trine to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn we have become efficient and methodical in managing our affairs as the result of working conscientiously on the gradual improvement of our life’s circumstances. The big energy shift that will be happening in sync with the Moon’s nodes egress into Scorpio/Taurus at 11:05 pm EDT later tonight, which is also altering the modality of the energy from mutable to fixed, will provide the underlying flavor and orientation for the next one year and a half. After the period of searching, spreading our wings, exploring our options and expanding our horizons, life concepts and viewpoints through learning, imitating, relating, linking and associating information coming our way and then moving past thought patterns, mental processes and connections we have outgrown, a new direction for our life might have been discovered that could be a ‘rebirth’ on many levels as we’re entering a period of intense and transformative experiences aimed at renewing our future prospects, while evolving and coming into our power through insistence, perseverance and consistency, while letting go off past attachments and a lifestyle that has become unsustainable.

Tarot card of the day is “Judgment”, suggesting that we’re having a day of reckoning, when we could awaken to the possibilities as we’re seeing everything in a new light and enjoying new hope. We feel drawn in a new direction and might recognize our true vocation by answering our highest calling. It is time to lift and resurrect ourselves. Cleansed and refreshed, we’re finding absolution.

Astro-Notes on August 28, 2012 – permanent solutions

Today we’ll be keeping ourselves busy, mentally active and moving with Mercury in Leo engaged in a trine to

retrograde Eris in Aries, in sesqui-quadrate aspects to retrograde Uranus and retrograde Pallas in Aries and a sextile to Ceres in Gemini. As we’ve come to this point on our journey, we’ve reached a state of mind where we focus on creating winning situations for ourselves and thus concentrate our thoughts on personal success stories, while pushing our individual agenda, intent on setting important changes in motion to initiate the progress we’ve been struggling with so far. Due to new developments and a willingness on our part to remain flexible and adaptable and to look at our ideas or plans from a different angle, we have now a chance to receive support in this regard through new connections or other venues, whereby it is critical that we review our strategies or personal politics, while demonstrating Self-determination and a strong will to succeed with whatever we set our mind to. After the Moon’s ingress to Aquarius at 1:38 pm EDT will we feel inner stirrings and a sense of restlessness, which could keep us emotionally agitated.

Tarot card of the day is the “10 of Pentacles”, suggesting that we’re seeking permanence and looking for a solution that will last. Therefore, we’re working on the creation of a lasting foundation by moving beyond makeshift arrangements and through a consensus of vision. This card refers to a climax in our foundational life, a culmination, completion or achievement we’ve reached that is the result of our material and tangible efforts and allows us to make a commitment to a sustainable future. We’re now investing in long-term benefits, knowing that we need a consistent approach in order to achieve success that will stand the test of time.

In the news: Colombia’s government is seeking peace with the country’s biggest rebel group, the FARC, and could consider also holding talks with a second guerrilla movement to end five decades of war. A successful peace agreement with the rebels would secure Santos, the country’s president, a place in history as the leader who ended a conflict that has killed tens of thousands over the years and left the Andean nation’s reputation in tatters.

Astro-Notes on August 27, 2012 – maintaining Self-interests

A sextile between Ceres in Gemini and retrograde Eris in Aries opens the channels of communication, thereby offering opportunities to move ahead with our personal agenda and Self-promote or make proposals and send out requests to support our plans. With Mercury in Leo engaged in a tense sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn it is critical though that we resist temptations of the ego and manage our inner demons by staying away from unnecessary drama in order to maintain our Self-interests and good reputation.

Tarot card of the day is Temperance”, suggesting a need for emotional stability, which can be achieved through moderation and a commitment to sobriety. We need to find middle ground, avoid excess, foster cooperation, cleanse our body and mind, heal ourselves and recognize the flow in our life. As we observe the nature of energy, we learn how to mix the right ingredients in our own life to maintain equilibrium and see all imbalances drifting away. Instead of sweeping changes subtle shifts need to take place. With renewed energy and vigor comes the promise of new growth.

Astro-Notes on August 26, 2012 – new inspiration

A trine from Mars in Scorpio to retrograde Neptune in Pisces signifies the end of a phase of uncertainty in regard

to our intentions and unmet expectations in this context, during which we felt defeated and had to surrender. Therefore, re-envisioning our dreams and ideals will lead to an intensification of our approach and empowered Self-assertion. After the Moon’s ingress to Capricorn at 9:58 am EDT will things get more serious and we have to put our nose to the grindstone to ground our feelings and focus on our goals.

Tarot card of the day is the “Knight of Swords”, indicating that we’re embarking on a new project or idea and there’s no stopping us. We’re headstrong and outspoken as we know what we are talking about and also let others know where we or they stand, thereby going straight to the point. Certain things can no longer be avoided – the confrontation will come and commence. Yet, there is great ambition, determination and strength as our physical, emotional and spiritual energy is at a peak. Group discussions with like-minded people are best suited to inspire and motivate one another.

Astro-Notes on August 25, 2012 – knowing our limits

A tense sesqui-quadrate between Mars in Scorpio and Vesta in Gemini demands that we think objectively about the things we hold sacred and the commitments we are willing to make, especially when we feel compelled by powerful intentions and subconscious motivations. It is critical that we see the other side of the coin together with our own ‘shadow’.

Tarot card of the day is the “5 of Swords”, suggesting that we’re dealing with mixed feelings about life in general and experiencing conflict or discord – inner as well as outer. The more important is it to pick our battles wisely and think before we act. There are boundaries and limitations in life situations we must accept, even though they could make us feel powerless. In this regard, we must overcome ourselves and focus on our needs in order to regain our composure. On the other hand, this card can indicate victory or achievement, which has been well-deserved and long-awaited, but only if we don’t give in to defeat.
