Astro-Notes on December 31, 2012 – endings

A semi-square from the Sun in Capricorn to the North Node in Scorpio (sesqui-quadrate South Node in Taurus) urges us to prepare ourselves to meet our future prospects with a sense of responsibility and maturity instead of resisting influences over which we have no control and struggling with the same problems over and over again. As the old year comes to an end and we’re readying ourselves for a new beginning, we might finally realize that things only get worse when we don’t take control over our life and do something about this situation. We cannot persevere if we don’t leave the baggage behind and “shed a skin”. Its time to get “unstuck” and thus, to set our will on achieving this end. Mercury’s ingress to Capricorn at 9:02 am EST, where he will be traversing until January 19, 2013, introduces a time when we focus on the realization of our ideas and plans, strengthen or break connections, organize our agenda and surroundings and work on managing matters of communication and mobility. With Venus in Sagittarius involved in a semi-square aspect to Mars in Aquarius, who also receives a semi-sextile from Juno in Capricorn and forms a sextile to Uranus in Aries, while Juno and Uranus square off, we’re challenged to master problems and trials encountered through changes in established relationship dynamics, where it is critical that we act or react differently, but in accordance with higher values and by reaching out, now that we have a chance to bring about progress and a choice to do something unconventional or reformistic that allows us to adjust our intentions to relationship ambitions.

Tarot card of the day is the “2 of Swords”, representing a delicate balance. We may feel as though we have reached an impasse or even a stalemate. What is needed is a truce so that the problems we’re dealing with can be resolved using logic and the intellect, especially if we don’t know how to proceed. It’s a card of choice. There is a sense of being caught between a rock and a hard place, which could make decision-making difficult or, on the other hand, could have us torn by indecision. Awareness of the consequences of our decisions is therefore imperative. However, a new beginning is arising out of the solutions found.

Personal Note: I can’t believe that this year is over. The older I get the more time is speeding away from me. LOL. Yes, things cannot go on as they are. This has been clear to me for a long time. What is unclear though is how to meet my needs and achieve my goals when so many attempts toward this end literally led nowhere. Well, one thing is for sure – we cannot force our way, yet we also cannot give up, but have to keep trying and working on resolutions. Eventually, we might succeed.

A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU! MAY IT BRING MUCH JOY AND SUCCESS AND MORE GOOD TIMES!

Astro-Notes on December 30, 2012 – Self-renewal

Since the Moon’s ingress to Leo at 2:45 am EST have we been more focused on ourselves, our feelings and needs, our

spare time and also on the quality of our personal life. As the Sun meets Pluto in conjunction in Capricorn and then follows up with a sextile to Saturn in Scorpio, a new cycle of systematic Self-renewal and empowerment through step-by-step self-realization and management of our life and resources begins, during which we have opportunities to influence our circumstances with firm resolve and from a point of increased control as our sense of Self evolves.

Tarot card of the day is “Strength”, suggesting that we draw upon our inner strength and the power of our spirit and will. With compassion and understanding can we handle the most difficult situation and also tame the beast within. We have the ability to be tolerant, forgiving and accepting and thus can gently influence our environment. Furthermore, we can be assured that we have enough endurance to see things through to their end and get a lot accomplished.

Personal Note: I slept in this morning and without planning it got up at the time as the Sun-Pluto conjunction perfected. This and a hearty breakfast plus the stew I have planned to make later today will assist me in renewing my vitality, which is the source of my ‘strength’. Moreover, it is my intention to work on some of my projects so that they’ll eventually be completed in time. Thus, I’m taking steps to gradually restore order and control in my life after this busy season to be able to achieve my goals.

Astro-Notes on December 29, 2012 – overcoming inner conflicts

A quincunx from the Sun in Capricorn to retrograde Jupiter in Gemini indicates a personal adjustment on our path as the result of reviewed options and opportunities. With Mercury in Sagittarius squaring Pallas in Pisces, we’re challenged to bring a debate that’s been going on for a long time – or so it feels at least – or unfinished plan or project to conclusion instead of evading it any longer.

Tarot card of the day is the “Page of Swords”, a card that is also called “The Renewer” and is all about communication, information and ideas. It also indicates the ability to rise above emotional confusion. The Page or Princess of Swords represents commitment to a new way of life, because of the settling and cutting away of past inner conflicts, the regaining of mental clarity and a victory over emotional moods. Manifestation of our dreams can actually happen in the not so distant future as she delivers messages of change and news of official matters.

Personal Note: My daughter and I will be driving all the way to Alliston today to pay my ex mother-in-law a Christmas visit, which we had to delay a couple of times. Meanwhile, it started to snow here again. I heard the snow plough already a couple of hours ago and was wondering about this, still trying to sleep a little bit longer. Once I got up I looked outside the window and had to realize to my dismay that my car is totally covered in snow. On those days I wish I could just stay at home, especially since I don’t have to go to work. However, I’m sure it’ll be a nice day anyway.

Happy Birthday Angie Hope, sweet friend of mine!

Astro-Notes on December 28, 2012 – Cancer Full Moon

As the Sagittarius lunation cycle culminates in the Cancer Full Moon at 5:21 am EST together with the impulse seeded at the time of the Cancer New Moon back in mid July, the self-containment associated with the Chinese laundry (Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius New Moon) has become fulfilled in a parade of dressed up rabbits (Sabian Symbol for the Cancer Full Moon), who imitate higher life forms, whereas the violent storm that raged through a canyon filled with expensive homes (Sabian Symboll for the Cancer New Moon in July) has made these homes lit by the Sun, where domesticated birds sing joyously (Sabian Symbol for the Sun in Capricorn). This speaks of developments in form of learning processes (keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Cancer Full Moon) that brought awareness or enlightenment and have led to a spiritual awakening that is demonstrated in an evolution of consciousness (most clearly exemplified in the school shooting in Newtown, Ct.).

Cancer Full Moon Dec2012

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 7:05 Cancer states:

“A group of rabbits dressed in human clothes walk as if on parade. Keynote: The tendency in all forms of life to imitate higher forms as a stimulus to growth – LEARNING PROCESSES.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 7:05 Capricorn states:

“In a sun-lit home domesticated birds sing joyously. Keynote: The wholesome happiness which subservience to the ideals and patterns of a well-established culture brings to those who accept them unreservedly – ENJOYMENT.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 115 and 234, respectively)

Accordingly, Mercury in Sagittarius’ semi-sextile to the North Node in Scorpio (quincunx South Node

inTaurus) indicates a mental adjustment born from a growing understanding directed toward influencing our future prospects in order to prevent the same experiences from happening over and over again. As retrograde Ceres in Gemini perfects her tense sesqui-quadrate to Saturn in Scorpio, it is critical that we empower our position or stand as we rethink how to successfully adapt or apply the maternal principle to our life and circumstances and thus how to feel safe, supported and protected in our close environment.

Tarot card of the day is “The Tower”, signifying inevitable change that can bring liberation and freedom. Our present lifestyle, attitude or people in our environment are changing. There might be shock due to the suddenness of the events as well as upheaval, but if we’ve been stuck in a rut this will help us to climb out of it. Thus, we might receive revelations or insights that help us to see solutions to our problem(s).

Astro-Notes on December 27, 2012 – finally……

As the semi-sextile between Mars in Aquarius and Neptune in Pisces perfects, individual or collective actions need to meet certain expectations or ideals – in some cases, specific intentions of ours toward progress complement dreams or hopes we’ve been holding for a long time during which uncertainty has been looming large. Now the ‘fog’ is clearing and with Mercury in Sagittarius engaged in a semi-square to Saturn in Scorpio on which he follows up with an opposition to retrograde Ceres in Gemini, we know where we stand in regard to this issue. It is critical though that we judge the situation with the larger picture in mind as well as in long-term perspective and understand the responsibilities, repercussions and complexities that come with it, especially as we face a conflict in matters of support from or toward connections we’ve fostered. After the Moon’s ingress to Cancer at 3:06 pm EST and instant trine to Neptune in Pisces will we feel ‘more at home’ feelings-wise and also that our needs have been taken care of. Thus, it’ll be easier for us to attune to our surroundings and just go with the flow.

Tarot card of the day is the “9 of Cups”, otherwise known as the ‘wish card’. This card is about counting our blessings, living in the moment and enjoying the good things life has to offer. Joy and happiness are within our grasp. We can relish in the fact that we’re about to finally achieve what we have set out to do. There is stability and advancement and a strong possibility to obtain our goals.

In the news: Aside from the material event of Boxing Day, another excellent example of yesterday’s energy weather was Toyota’s proposal to settle the acceleration cases it is involved in a U.S. court for $1.1 billion. Speaking of enormity and extremes!

Astro- Notes on December 26, 2012 – Boxing Day

Venus in Sagittarius’ opposition to retrograde Vesta in Gemini confronts us with a conflict that concerns the

things we hold sacred and what they mean to us in terms of value judgments as we’re facing an onrush of busyness and the option of more spending on this special event day, where everybody tries to get the most or best for their money. As the Saturn-Pluto sextile perfects together with another sextile between the Sun in Capricorn and Chiron in Pisces, we can take advantage of down-priced goods and other “blowout sales” if we are willing to get up early and stand in long lines, while consumerism hits the extreme and materialism and capitalism hold us in their tight grip. Being aware of what to expect will help us to deal constructively with the reality of the situation. Moreover, with a bit of effort on our part, we have a chance to bridge personal issues by showing respect for one another and conducting ourselves maturely and responsibly.

Tarot card of the day is the “Knight of Wands”, suggesting that an important matter is likely to enter our life and demand our attention. Therefore, we have to be ready to react quickly and to go with the flow. Our present situation will soon change and we have to make important decisions. Consequently, we’re charging forth with ideas and visions to make things happen, while tackling any challenge that stands in our way. It is important that we show ambition, are high-spirited, strong-willed and determined and take calculated risks.

Astro-Notes on December 25, 2012 – Christmas Day

Christmas-Presents-christmas-presents-gifts-1600x1200Since the Moon’s ingress to Gemini at 2:13 am EST and instant square to Neptune in Pisces we’ve been feeling more easy-going, chatty and social, but needed some time for sleep and rest first. Mars makes ingress to Aquarius at 7:48 pm EST, where he will be traversing until February 2, 2013, which corresponds to a period when we change, upgrade or reform our modus operanti and when inspiration together with genius stimulate our intentions, while we mobilize our will to work for progress and individualization. As Mars in Aquarius is approaching a semi-sextile to Neptune in Pisces right away, our action urge has to be adjusted to higher ideals, at least for these next few days when we all come together in the ‘spirit’ of the season and should be motivated accordingly, which is even more important now that Mars is in mutual reception with Uranus in Aries. The latter receives a square from the Sun in Capricorn, which is testing us to the core, demanding self-discipline and control from us to be able to behave and obey the rules, instead of bringing forth our rebellious or nonconformistic streak and other inappropriate tendencies. Rather, in order to stand out and show what we are made of, should we demonstrate that we’re well-organized and self-sufficient as well as capable of managing the “chaos”, because we could also encounter new trends or changes and surprises we aren’t prepared for. With Mercury in Sagittarius engaged in a trine to retrograde Eris in Aries we have the right attitude to excel at whatever we set our mind on and thus can ‘score high’.

Tarot card of the day is “The Emperor”, symbolizing the masculine principle, the animus within us and the patriarchy. This card is representative of structure and stability and thus implies that we’re creating order out of chaos by mapping out what needs to be done, sticking with the plan and seeing it through to its completion. We have to be highly organized and coordinated in our approach and must maintain our concentration and focus. Moreover, we need to become or bring forth our own authority and know that we can master our world.

Personal Note: Interesting that I drew this card for today as I’m on my way to work where we have to create order out of chaos and prepare the store for tomorrow’s big Boxing Day event. After that I’ll be stopping by at my daughter’s place for the Christmas dinner and to exchange the gifts and then call it an early night, because I’ll have to be there, “where the action is”, tomorrow morning right at the opening. Enjoy the festivities and Merry Christmas!
