Astro-Notes on January 6, 2013 – ‘snowed in’

Since the Moon’s ingress to Scorpio at 1:08 am EST this morning, the atmosphere has intensified and some things might have gotten more complicated. As Mercury in Capricorn engages in a series of aspects today by moving into the Mars-Pluto semi-sextile (via semi-sextile to Mars in Aquarius and meeting Pluto in Capricorn in conjunction) on which he follows up with a semi-square to the North Node in Scorpio (sesqui-quadrate South Node in Taurus), we’re having a ‘mental day’ when things could get really busy and complex due to unexpected developments or news we have to react to and integrate into our plans, which may lead to some kind of liberation, permitting us to shed old thought patterns that kept us trapped in limiting circumstances. Thus, we are beginning a new cycle during which we will be renewing our perception of reality, in particular in regard to the influence psychic and subconscious conditioning is holding over it, while gradually achieving mental empowerment. It is imperative in this context that we focus on gaining control over our life’s direction through the overcoming of stagnation, whichever form it takes.

Tarot card of the day is “The Magician”, coming with the message ‘I have the power to create’, because we have all the tools we need available – the sword of intellect, the wand of inspiration, the cup of emotion and the pentacle of practicality. This card suggests that it is time to approach our whole life or a situation with a new creative and original attitude. We have the ability to act not react, as well as the willpower to channel our energy in the direction we want it to go. With self-confidence we will gain the knowledge and the ability to tackle the important issues that need to be dealt with so that success can be achieved.

Personal Note: It started snowing here overnight. I heard the snow ploughs in the early morning hours already. The roads are pretty much cleaned (or at least as far as this is manageable since the snowing hasn’t stopped yet), but my car is not only covered in snow, it is snowed in, and since I don’t have a shovel I had to come up with an idea how to deal with the problem. Well, first of all I’ll have to get down there an hour before my shift begins to make it in time and second I might have to use my dustpan or I’ll be stuck! Anyway, needless to say that I’m not happy about the situation – at first, a few negative thoughts were arising as I felt defeated by these conditions – but then I thought “he, it is winter and if you would work the night shift you would have to deal with the same situation in the parking lot there. Just get ready in time and then get to work!”
