Astro-Notes on June 30, 2013 – smartening up

Early this morning, at 0:53 am EDT, did the waning Aries Moon square the Cancer Sun, marking the Third Quarter Moon phase of the Gemini lunation cycle. This crisis in consciousness has been testing our ‘survival instincts’, thereby forcing us to act in accordance with traditional wisdom (Sabian Symbol for the Gemini New Moon) for our own protection and thus, to use common sense or the knowledge seeded recently based on our experiences instead of sidestepping important issues. As Venus conjuncts Ceres in Leo, the love and maternal principles meet in self-centered Leo, which means, priorities and self-preservation come together, while a new sub-cycle begins with the potential for self-validation and –care, when we have a chance to showcase our feminine or yin qualities and artistic nature and feed our self-worth.  A trine from Pallas in Gemini to retrograde Juno in Aquarius indicates that the application of intelligence and foresight have resulted in reformed relationship dynamics. Also, relationships provide lots of stimulation for us to learn from and to smarten up as a consequence.

Tarot card of the day is the “5 of Pentacles”, which comes with the message ‘it is darkest before dawn’. As we’re experiencing a time of hardship, of feeling less than secure, left out and impoverished – either material or spiritual – we need to understand that there is hope of better days ahead. We’re on a pilgrimage or a long journey, which can be taken as an act of faith or devotion and all we need is to find the inner fortitude to persist in our quest and bolster ourselves, while resisting the temptation to succumb to spiritual poverty. No matter how bleak or destitute the situation seems to us, we have to maintain our faith and don’t give up. It is time to move on and to let us be guided by our soul’s light or inner shining star.

Astro-Notes on June 29, 2013 – quick maneuvers

After the Moon’s ingress to Aries at 9:06 am EDT could we feel more animated, impulsive and impatient. A semi-square between Venus in Leo and Pallas in Gemini urges us to maneuver quickly, cleverly and nimbly in order to ‘create’ or bring about our own happiness, contentment and personal enjoyment. I, per example, jumped out of my bed and got running once I realized that my alarm hadn’t sound off for whatever reason (most likely due to Mercury retrograde). Thankfully, I still had enough time to get ready for work.

Tarot card of the day is “The Devil”, a card that comes with the message “I can untie the binds and set myself free”. We may in some way feel controlled by our environment or by our attitude and may therefore have a fear of taking our power back or of being responsible for ourselves and our situation. It’s a day when we’re overly concerned with material security and when therefore money and material wellbeing are very important to us. Temptations of all kinds will abound and there is a strong possibility that our ‘shadow’ will show if we choose to go down the low road and use our power in destructive, unproductive ways.

Astro-Notes on June 28, 2013 – crazy busyness

As Jupiter in Cancer perfects a sesqui-quadrate to the North Node in Scorpio (semi-square SN in Taurus), Mars in Gemini forms another one with retrograde Saturn in Scorpio and retrograde Mercury in Cancer squares Eris in Aries again. Thus, it is critical that we investigate and explore or really ‘dig’ all options that have future potential and can help our development along. In order to be able to set a course for our future and to foster our growth, we need to hold onto our beliefs and principles and also have to intensify our efforts in this regard. Eventually, success will be ours, if we just remain flexible and adaptable and stick to our objectives. As things are getting more complex and conditions intensify, the ‘going gets tough’, which forces us to review our attitude and strengthen our will if we want to win in these situations. This is how far I came with my notes this morning. I haven’t been really inspired lately. Therefore, it takes me longer to write something up and then it was already too late for posting, because I had to leave for work, where it has been crazy busy all day as we’re heading into the long weekend and people are getting ready for it. These occasions – whether they are public holidays or national celebrations – are usually a pretty stressful time as everybody is out and about. And to make matters worse – some shop as if there were no tomorrow. Consumerism can be taken to extremes and mindlessness can cause unnecessary strife and discord. Consequently, when on the road, you have to be more careful and when you don’t have to avoid shopping altogether. Even at the gas station there was a line-up and as I arrived here I had to park my car on the other side and have to move it later as every single parking spot around here was taken. Anyway, it has been raining since yesterday night and finally cooled down a bit. So, I just hope that this will dampen the “high-flying spirits” of the partying crowd a bit and that I can catch some sleep.

Tarot card of the day is the “8 of Wands”, representing a very focused kind of motion and activity, a time when we need to strike while the iron is hot. It encourages us to move quickly to pursue the best opportunities available right now.

Astro-Notes on June 27, 2013 – productive interactions

Since the Moon’s ingress to Pisces at 4:31 am EDT this morning have we been feeling either more sleepy or more wholesome as well as sensitized to all kinds of influences. Venus will make ingress to Leo at 1:03 pm EDT, where she will be traversing until July 22, which corresponds to a time of greater self-love, -appreciation and –validation, when we wholeheartedly and even selfishly concentrate on the fulfillment of our needs, wants and desires, when our personal values and worth take center-stage and when we ‘dramatize’, emphasize and play with our appearance and attractiveness. Venus’ instant semi-sextile to Jupiter in Cancer requires an adjustment of our personal preferences in order to be able to support our growth.

Tarot card of the day is the “2 of Cups”, suggesting that there is a mutual understanding between the people involved in a relationship and that interactions are balanced and harmonious, because of an awareness of the expectations each person has, which allows for growth and very special relationships. Our focus is on win-win situations as we show kindness and thoughtfulness.

Astro-Notes on June 26, 2013 – feeling the flow

Since yesterday has the Sun in Cancer moved into aspect with retrograde Saturn in Scorpio and thus became the third leg or

body of this year’s prominent configuration – the Grand Trine in water (Sun in Cancer trine Saturn Rx in Scorpio and trine Neptune Rx in Pisces). Consequently, the nurturing and support that is now flowing our way may feel overwhelming or we may have to care for and to combine too many things and situations as obstacles or other blocks in our way seem to have disappeared or removed altogether, allowing us to reunite, rejoice, share and help out. It might just be impossible to keep up with all the promises and duties. Pallas in Gemini’s quincunx to the North Node in Scorpio (semi-sextile South Node in Taurus) shows a strategic adjustment we made to be able to gain control over our future prospects and get out of past patterns, where we have been too inflexible. Mercury stationed retrograde at 23:06 Cancer at 9:07 am EDT this morning, starting a period of reviewing, introspecting and rethinking regarding matters of dependency, protection, safety, support, nurturance, belonging and bonding. He will be retracing his steps to 13:21 Cancer, where he will turn around on July 20. Issues that came up in this context since June 10 may have to be revisited during this phase. A tense sesqui-quadrate from Venus in Cancer to retrograde Chiron in Pisces urges us be aware of heightened sensitivities at this time as we could feel disappointed or even unloved if our values and needs are not met. Mars in Gemini’s trine to retrograde Juno in Aquarius though indicates that we updated or upgraded certain relationship dynamics by taking action and communicating our intentions.

Tarot card of the day is the “Queen of Cups”, symbolizing a seeker of inner transformation who possesses a strong perspective and perceptive nature. Suggested is furthermore that we are acknowledging our emotions and feelings. We trust our intuition and listen to our inner voice as well as to the sensations and impressions we’re getting from our environment. In our interactions with others we need to empathize and show true compassion, helping people along their chosen pathway. This is a day when we’ll be following the lead of our heart.

Today is also my ex-mother-in-law’s birthday. Too bad that I couldn’t make it, but I will be on my way soon. Happy Birthday to you Monika! You are truly the Queen of Cups.

Astro-Notes on June 25, 2013 – becoming wise elders

Since the Moon’s ingress to Aquarius at 3:26 am EDT have we been processing stirred up feelings, which were interfering with our sleep. We might have gotten up early or had to respond to changes – at least I did, because I got called in to work when I was just getting ready to start my day and as a consequence had to cancel on a client. Thus, I’ve been at work all day – the pace had definitely accelerated for me with this shift – and now I’m trying to catch up (once again) with everything. Mighty Jupiter will change signs tonight, from flighty, mutable, dualistic (androgynous) Mercury-ruled Gemini to soft, cardinal, motherly Moon-ruled Cancer. The ingress will transpire at 9:39 pm EDT and the transit will last until July 16, 2014. During that period will we seek to nurture our social sense and life, to support concepts, viewpoints, principles and beliefs we hold about our life, to sustain our personal quest, truth, direction and life philosophy, to foster our growth, expansion and cultural integration and to rely on our as well as traditional knowledge, wisdom and ‘greatness’.

Tarot card of the day is “The Hermit”, suggesting that we’re entering a stage of introspection, where we need to look for the answers within, thereby engaging in soul searching. It’s a solitary quest, because the truths we’re seeking do not lie in the external world, but within us. Therefore, we begin to re-evaluate our goals and might change our overall direction. In recognizing that each of our thoughts and actions is a brick we use to build our lives, we partake in the creation of our own reality. We have to find the light within and allow ourselves to be touched and illuminated by it as well as help to light the way for others. Alas, all the darkness that seems to surround us cannot blot out the light. Moreover, there is an emphasis on peace and patience as well as on accepting the limitations of time and age. The Hermit also symbolizes a taskmaster, who leads with purpose and wisdom gathered from years of experience. He furthermore represents completion. Thus, we may well progress to a new stage of life, but need to remove any difficulties from a current situation in order to gain perspective.

Astro-Notes on June 24, 2013 – emotional up and downs

Mercury in Cancer’s square to Eris in Aries that has been vibrating in the background the last few days as he slowed down is

perfecting today together with the Sun in Cancer’s sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Juno in Aquarius. Thus, we’re and have been challenged to overcome a mentality that is at discord as we keep struggling to succeed with our ideals or plans and have to deal with issues of competition. Although, we might feel defeated at this time, we have to protect our interests and take care of our projects. Therefore, it is critical that we change relationship dynamics, which are in the way of our self-realization or interfere with our purpose otherwise or have been an unreliable or uncertain factor in this regard.

Tarot card of the day is the “5 of Cups”, a card that is associated with loss, suffering and sadness. There is a lack of attainment or non-fulfillment of expected results. Thus, today is a day of emotional up and downs when we could feel disappointed, cry over spilt milk or letting go of a hope. We might be feeling regret, only seeing the negative in a situation and generally have a pessimistic outlook on things. The more important is it to focus on our higher potential and the things are still left for us to work with. Forgiveness and the ability to recover are necessary.
