Astro-Notes on August 31, 2013 – different conditions

With the Moon in Cancer all day we want to feel safe, protected, taken care of, supported and nurtured. Bonding, dependence and closeness are important to our wellbeing and we seek out the familiar and traditional. However, the ‘sailing’ might not be totally smooth, especially later in the evening when the Moon will engage in a few challenging aspects with Ceres, Venus and Neptune and we might find out that some people are unreliable or certain arrangements we made might fall through or expectations we had are not realizable and as a result we could feel unhappy and disappointed.

Tarot card of the day is “The Tower”, signifying inevitable change or at least different conditions as our routines are getting shaken up. If handled well it can bring liberation and freedom. There might be shock due to the suddenness of the event as well as upheaval, but if we’ve been stuck in a rut this will help us to climb out of it. Things are transforming and evolving beyond our control. An era might end – one way or another.

Astro-Notes on August 30, 2013 – proposals

The Sun in Virgo casts a sextile to Saturn in Scorpio on which he follows up with a sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Eris in Aries, giving us a chance to intensify our sense of structure if we can ‘clean up our act’ and work on being more efficient in the ways we seek self-realization, which requires that we bring forth our competitive side and be willing and ready to succeed with whatever we set out to do. Since the Moon’s ingress to Cancer at 7:32 am EDT could we’ve been feeling rather moody or emotional and withdrawing in our shell. However, with Mercury in Virgo casting a sextile to Jupiter in Cancer it would benefit us to take advantage of the possibilities for growth open to us today and thus to extend our connectivity or outreach in a way that serves our plans.

Tarot card of the day is the “Knight of Cups”, a card that is associated with transition and free flowing emotional energy. New ideas, invitations and proposals are implicated. Also, we’re inspired and full of zeal as we serve our desires. We’re on a journey of imagination and creativity, where our idealism and love principle will be put to a test. Therefore, we’ll have to follow our heart in order to find our path.

In the news: In the Syria crisis U.S. president Obama considers unilateral response – allies and the public are understandably war-weary. Personally, I believe we have more options than just retaliation. This would be a chance to respond differently or at least to hand the Nobel Peace Prize back he received undeservedly. The Sun in Virgo in this critical aspect to Eris highlights a facet of our true or authentic nature, while “painting it in black or white”. Meanwhile, people around here are heading into the long weekend and Ed and I are trying to set up a show for tonight 7 pm EDT – details will follow later.

Astro-Notes on August 29, 2013 – renewed hope

Today, the Sun in Virgo casts a quincunx to retrograde Juno in Aquarius, Pallas in Cancer squares retrograde Eris in Aries, Mercury in Virgo opposes retrograde Chiron in Pisces and engages in a quincunx to retrograde Uranus in Aries and Venus in Libra forms a semi-square aspect with Ceres in Virgo. This shows that we made an adjustment that concerned our role in the context of serving or work due to a changed relationship situation, which forced us to postpone personal plans and challenges us to move forward with the latest strategies we’ve come up with anyway or in spite of this obstacle. Confronted by this setback, we have to think outside the box to be able to resolve this problem or unfinished business, which requires that we try again and schedule anew, whereby it is essential that we actually have a well-functioning setup as well as the support and cooperation of the people involved. – Well, this fits my personal life story as I was called in yesterday to work for a short evening shift and therefore had to cancel my plans for a blogtalkradio show with Ed. However, since we didn’t have tested yet the medium we want to use for that undertaking, it might have saved us from the trouble in case it wouldn’t have worked. So, although we have to reschedule, this gives us time to try things out.

Tarot card of the day is the “The Star”, suggesting renewed hope and faith. We’re filled with inspiration and optimism and reach for our highest potential. As a result, we pour our energy into a good cause or dedicate ourselves to a long-range vision. Moreover, we could have a ‘shining’ moment and be recognized for our higher qualities, all of which compels us to go on.

Astro-Notes on August 28, 2013 – platform for an idea

The Third Quarter Moon of the Leo lunation cycle transpired this morning at 5:34 am EDT. As the waning Gemini Moon squared the Virgo Sun, the accompanying crisis in consciousness tested our objectivity amidst controversy and diversity to choose from, thereby challenging us to demonstrate our stuff, in particular what our ideas and perception of facts and statements concerns (demonstration was the keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Leo New Moon). Ceres made ingress to Virgo at 6:18 am EDT, where she will be traversing until November 3, which corresponds to a period when we seek to improve and perfect the maternal principle in our life, or at least to make it more effective and better functioning or working out for us. With Vesta in Leo involved in a sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, who also receives a trine from Mercury in Virgo, it is critical that we access our inner power and potential and show resourcefulness together with competence while handling our affairs. Moreover, we need to commit us wholeheartedly to the things we hold sacred and keep this fire burning now that we finally established a platform for our ideas and plans. A sextile from Mercury in Virgo to the North Node in Scorpio (trine South Node in Taurus) suggests that we can continue using this for future projects.

Tarot card of the day is the “Ace of Swords”, indicating a new way of thinking or the conception of an idea or the start of a new project. Our mental powers have been awakened and we’re seeing through illusions, cutting through the confusion, dispelling doubts, finding out the facts, thinking our way through or championing a cause. It’s a time of great insight and mental clarity, which could result in a break-through or aha-moment as well as a greater understanding.

Personal Notes: Yesterday evening I started recording a short video to share my experiences and impressions of the day with you. Since I’ve been on the computer for most of the day I thought I might as well give this a shot. However, in the middle of it I got interrupted by somebody I’m connected with on Facebook, who kept constantly mailing me and then I heard from yet more people. So, I had to leave it at that as I wasn’t able anymore to concentrate my thoughts and focus on what I was trying to convey. It was such a typical Third Quarter Moon experience – all the attempts to put things into perspective and context and at first it seemed as though the whole undertaking was futile and just a waste of my time, but now it looks as though we’re getting closer to our goals and that things are on an upward swing.

Astro-Notes on August 27, 2013 – timing

Mars in Cancer casts a last-degree semi-sextile to Ceres in Leo, while Mercury in Virgo forms a quincunx to retrograde Juno in Aquarius, a sextile to Saturn in Scorpio and a sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Eris in Aries. This is indicative of a last chance adjustment we have to make in our traditional approach to be able to take care of personally important things and to concentrate on our self-development or creative commitments, instead of side-stepping these issues, which requires that we adapt our routines accordingly and change relationship dynamics, which don’t serve us any longer. Thus, we’re presented with an opportunity to influence our circumstances in such a way that helps us to come up with better ideas or plans that will actually work. Also, it is critical in this regard that we focus on succeeding with what we set out to do. With Venus in Libra square Jupiter in Cancer we’re challenged to overcome past beliefs, concepts and principles in order to harmonize or reconcile values and preferences. After the Moon’s ingress to Gemini at 7:07 pm EDT will we feel more easy-going and take things lighter. Mars will make ingress to Leo at 10:05 pm EDT, where he will be traversing until October 15, which corresponds to a period when we seek to be more self-expressive and creative in our approach as well as more willful in regard to our intentions and also more involved in personal important matters, while concentrating our energy and at the same time keeping our drive and action urge ‘fired up’.

Tarot card of the day is “Temperance”, suggesting a need for emotional stability, which can be achieved through moderation and a commitment to sobriety. We need to find middle ground or the middle way, avoid excess, foster cooperation, cleanse our body and mind, heal ourselves and recognize the flow in our life. As we observe the nature of energy, we learn how to mix the right ingredients in our own life to maintain equilibrium and see all imbalances drifting away. Instead of sweeping changes subtle shifts need to take place. With renewed energy and vigor comes the promise of new growth. Life is all about timing… the unreachable becomes reachable, the unavailable become available, the unattainable… attainable. Have the patience and wait it out.

In the news: A military strike from the U.S. and it’s allies on Syria might be happening as early as Thursday = Venus in Libra square Jup in Cancer = adding another war to international relations – while Mercury in Virgo is planning the details and of course with Eris in the mix – war is what we know and do best. Don’t get me wrong – there are ‘justifiable’ reasons behind this approach as the matter stands now. Besides, we have a responsibility to act when atrocities are committed – but why did nobody do anything about the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, per example?

Astro-Notes on August 26, 2013 – being illumined

Hmmm, I really didn’t have the slightest clue about this Mercury – Neptune opposition that followed on the heels of the Vesta – Eris trine in fire, did I? Now that I included the Juno – Saturn square and let these experiences sink in, reflecting on the overall picture, it all makes sense (at least in my own case/life) and reminded me once again of the dramas I’m caught up in ‘innocently’. In my naivety, I keep focusing on the higher potential of humankind, but the ‘ways of the Lord are indeed strange and not for everybody to understand’ as the verse my eye fell on in the Book of Proverbs yesterday morning ‘warned’ me of. Well, for one thing I wasn’t aware that my eldest aunt had passed away during the last hours (I still don’t know the correct time), even though this transition could have happened every day now. The day had started out better than I had dared to hope, because the power they were working on for specific maintenance purposes was already back on as I got up for my opening shift. However, once I checked my inbox, I found over 20 mails there due to being tagged in a timeline photo on Facebook. These comments I had received were from people I was not connected to; neither did I understand them as they were in Italian. So, I logged in and removed the tag and also made sure that these notifications discontinued. On top of that I had received 2 game requests again to which I usually respond with the option to ‘ignore all future requests from this person’ as I realized the announcement I had made a few times in my status about me not being interested in playing games on Facebook is getting unnoticed or ignored anyway. That was the Venus-nodal axis aspect for me – Venus in Libra semi-sextile NN in Scorpio = controlling what I like or dislike from others in the future. I left for work at 7:30 am in the morning, where it only got busy around lunch time when the Taurus Moon contacted the Virgo energies. The more the day advanced though, the more things degenerated there to a point of becoming chaotic, especially after the first shift changes had taken place and it became obvious that competence had left the building. My replacement didn’t even show up and that after the one person there, who can’t stand me, made sure I would hear her complaints that this poor girl would only have a short shift, which was a stab at me, because the issue she has with me is based on her perception that I would get more hours scheduled than I deserve. “Hang in there” (The Hanged Man) had become the motto of the day. Once back at home, I found a message left by my daughter on my answer machine that notified me of the passing of my aunt. So, I thought I better call another aunt, who was very close to her and check on her. Although she has always been unreasonable when it concerns her favorite persons, she ended up cutting me short after she released her anger about my mother, grief-stricken as she was (the Moon in Aries can react aggressively and rude), leaving me in a state of shock and disbelief, but, of course, I knew where this was coming from, since she’s unable as well as unwilling to accept that her perception of reality could have flaws. Not to mention that as the good Christian she is she can’t forget or forgive and thinks of herself as being right and holier than ours. However, who am I to judge her? As an astrologer I witness the workings of karma or fate by seeing her struggling unnecessarily with those she accuses of the things/issues she doesn’t own herself – ‘everyone’s ways are coming from the Lord’ – indeed. Here’s what I had written up for today:

Retrograde Juno in Aquariussquare to Saturn in Scorpio challenges us to overcome devolving, deteriorating and undesirable conditions in relationship situations that have changed suddenly. With Venus in Libra engaged in a quincunx to retrograde Chiron in Pisces and an opposition to retrograde Uranus in Aries in addition to the Sun in Virgo’s opposition to retrograde Neptune in Pisces and Mercury in Virgo’s semi-square to Pallas in Cancer, we have to adjust our values and preferences to a wound or loss we suffered and evaluate the future anew, now that the tide seems to have turned against us and we’ve become overwhelmed or victimized by these developments and experiences. We certainly didn’t see that coming our way or would have expected such twists and turns. Therefore is it essential that we come up with workable solutions that support our politics and help us coping and dealing with our daily chores.

Tarot card of the day is “The Sun”, which represents energy, enthusiasm and us taking care of the inner child. This card gives us strength and puts us in a position where we can share our highest qualities. We know where we are heading; our path is illuminated. Moreover, we reflect on the value of simplicity and get back to the simple pleasures. Our mind feels clear and we feel enlightened.

Astro-Notes on August 25, 2013 – necessary sacrifices

A semi-sextile from Venus in Libra to the North Node in Scorpio (quincunx South Node in Taurus) indicates that we make a value adjustment to influence our future prospects by letting go off certain preferences we’ve become accustomed to. After the Moon’s ingress to Taurus at 9:13 am EDT will we feel more comfortable and settle back in our usual routines. A trine from Vesta in Leo to retrograde Eris in Aries shows self-focus and -importance leading to concentrated dedication toward personal success. With Mercury in Virgo in opposition to retrograde Neptune in Pisces we’re confronted by our as yet unrealized dreams and unfinished projects or unmet expectations for which we have to find workable solutions.

Tarot card of the day is “The Hanged Man”, urging us to let go and surrender to the experience, ending the struggle, accepting what is and hanging in there for now. We may want to suspend any decision-making and simply just wait for better opportunities. There is a chance that we could see a situation from a new angle and consequently, overturn our priorities or upend the old order. This card also represents someone who has chosen the path of sacrifice and forsaken instant gratification in order to accomplish a higher goal.
