Astro-Notes on January 28, 2014 – skillful maneuvering

Right at the beginning of the new day, at 00:04 am EST, did the Moon make

ingress to Capricorn, curbing our enthusiasm and setting us in a more somber mood. Instinctively we know it’s time to get down to business, especially after the revelations yesterday that caused us to review the options and possibilities we have exhausted so far in our exchanges with others – courtesy of Juno in Pisces’ trine to retrograde Jupiter in Cancer. Although we might not understand everything yet or know what to do next, the semi-squares between Vesta in Libra and retrograde Pallas in Virgo and between Mercury in Aquarius and Pluto in Capricorn press us into improving our strategies and updating or upgrading the ways we communicate and conduct our business or deal with our affairs so that our maneuvers or tactics will be more effective from now on.

Tarot card of the day is the “5 of Swords”, suggesting that we’re dealing with mixed feelings about life in general and experiencing conflict or discord – inner as well as outer. The more important is it to pick our battles wisely and think before we act. There are boundaries and limitations in life situations we must accept, even though they could make us feel powerless. In this regard, we must overcome ourselves and focus on our needs in order to regain our composure. On the other hand, this card can indicate victory or achievement, which has been well-deserved and long-awaited, but only if we don’t give in to defeat.

Astro-Notes on January 27, 2014 – committing to a sustainable future

A sextile from Juno in Pisces to Pluto in Capricorn opens the door for others to come to our rescue so that we can get in control over our affairs. Mars in Libra’s opposition to Eris in Aries confronts us with the need to reconcile those conflicts we’re experiencing intention- and relationship-wise that have left us ‘hanging in the air’ without any clear directive, while things remained for the most part unresolved. This situation calls for alternative approaches and cooperation. Consequently, Mercury in Aquarius’ trine to Vesta in Libra shows that commitments and arrangements have been made in this regard with ensuing results balancing our ‘sheets’.

Tarot card of the day is the “10 of Pentacles”, suggesting that we seek out permanence and are looking for a solution that will last. Therefore, we are working on the creation of a lasting foundation by moving beyond makeshift arrangements and through a consensus of vision. This card refers to a climax in our foundational life, a culmination, completion or achievement we’ve reached that is the result of our material and tangible efforts and allows us to make a commitment to a sustainable future. We’re now investing in long-term benefits, knowing that we need a consistent approach in order to achieve success that will stand the test of time.

Astro-Notes on January 26, 2014 – foresight

A semi-square from Mercury in Aquarius to his dispositor, Uranus in Aries, urges us to initiate progress and proceed with our plans. Inspiration might strike when we least expect it or proposals coming out of the blue might change our day. The more important is it to anticipate the ‘unusual’ or ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ to be able to make the choices, which could be advancing our cause.

Tarot card of the day is the “The High Priestess”, suggesting that we’re aware of a larger reality and see the potential or understand the possibilities as we open us to what could be. We’re looking beyond the obvious and being receptive to all kinds of subtle and hidden influences, which include our inner voice we need to listen to and trust. Also, we need to look for areas of our life, which are out of balance and therefore require greater foresight and wisdom. Our life is changing. Things that once seemed certain can no longer be taken for granted.

Astro-Notes on January 25, 2014 – perceptiveness

As Mercury in Aquarius casts a sextile to Eris in Aries, on which he follows up with a square to Saturn in Scorpio, we have an opportunity to focus on our self-interests or personal agenda if we make choices that advance our cause. This, however challenges us to accept certain conditions and limitations and thus, to be mindful, especially of shared values. Per example, my daughter wanted to come for a visit today, but since it has been storming, snowing and blowing since yesterday afternoon, it didn’t really come as a surprise that we had to cancel our plans. Not to mention that she’s sick again after they had to do a few hangar moves at work in this freezing cold (Merc square Saturn) and that the road conditions are terrible once again – with Mercury square Saturn roads and highways are closed. If not absolutely necessary, it wouldn’t be advisable to leave the safety and warmth of your home. This gives me enough time though to prepare my New Moon workshop as responses and chart info from participants are coming in. In sync with these developments, Juno meets with Chiron in Pisces, which marks the beginning of a new sub-cycle that combines the relationship principle with the wounding and healing principle in this imaginative, idealistic, all-encompassing sign. Therefore, sensitivities are heightened in our interactions with others today as well as during this cycle, asking us to put ourselves in the other’s shoes and to respond with sympathy, compassion and empathy. The more receptive, perceptive, attuned and aware we are to everything that is, the more whole (“holy”) our world will become and healing can ensue as we hold each other and recognize that we are all one. In particular with retrograde Pallas in Virgo‘s opposition to the Juno-Chiron conjunction, reviewing and improving politics that are in conflict with this idealistic vision is essential. Late at night, at 10:12 pm EST, will the Moon make ingress to Sagittarius, which could uplift our ‘dark’ mood and generally bring some optimism, enthusiasm and enterprising spirit to the table.

Tarot card of the day is the “Queen of Cups”, symbolizing a seeker of inner transformation who possesses a strong perspective and perceptive nature. Suggested is furthermore that we are acknowledging our emotions and feelings. We trust our intuition and listen to our inner voice as well as to the sensations and impressions we’re getting from our environment. In our interactions with others we need to empathize and show true compassion, helping people along their chosen pathway. This is a day when we’ll be following the lead of our heart.

Astro-Notes on January 24, 2014 – collaboration

The waning Scorpio Moon squared the Aquarius Sun at the beginning of the new day at 00:18 am

EST, which marked the Third Quarter Moon in the Capricorn lunation cycle. Therefore, the ‘crisis in consciousness’ we’re experiencing at this time challenges our sense of Self in terms of ‘aristocracy’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Capricorn New Moon) and evolution or empowerment and thus, in the ways or manner we seek to differentiate and individualize, especially in regard to the ‘privileges’ we enjoy. With retrograde Pallas in Virgo in trine aspect to Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Aquarius involved in another trine to Mars in Libra, we’re reviewing the results of our politics and the tactics we employed to gain influence over our circumstances together with the consequences of inspirations and social actions or approaches we’ve taken to make progress in a group situation. Moreover, retrograde Pallas in Virgo is approaching an opposition to Juno in Pisces, revealing interpersonal conflicts we need to resolve in order to be effective and meet expectations. In Justin Bieber’s case, the word is out that he’s now blaming his mother to avoid responsibility- Or is it just their way of cooperating? (3 of Pentacles) This ‘story’ will get more interesting during Mercury’s retrograde.

Tarot card of the day is the “3 of Pentacles”, a card that refers to encouragement due to cooperation and collaboration. Teamwork and planning are the essential ingredients toward the achievement of our goals. We’re taking the next step toward becoming established. Improvement of our situation and success are possible if we apply the necessary effort and show persistence.

Astro-Notes on January 23, 2014 – moving away from turbulence

Today, the Sun in Aquarius is engaged in a semi-sextile aspect to Neptune in Pisces, showing an adjustment in the way we express ourselves and live our life that complements our ideal or enlightens/disillusions or, as in my case, allows us some rest. It’s my second day off from work this (work) week and therefore, I slept in (Neptune/Pisces) and won’t be doing much of anything (I have an inclination to day-dream and to waste my time this way with Neptune in Scorpio in my 3rd house of the conscious mind), except some chart work (Neptune/Pisces – fulfilling the vision, ideal or dream), especially with the Moon transiting through the remaining degrees of Libra, relaxing and rebalancing is on my agenda. After her ingress to Scorpio at 4:43 pm EST though, feelings and interactions with our environment will intensify.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Swords”, which indicates a slight reduction in stress and strain. Things will be better than they were in the recent past, all of which is helpful to get our head above water. The bottom has been reached and the process of healing has begun. There is finality in this journey. The future is not yet visible, but the past is definitely over. We’re moving away from turbulence toward calmer times and will need to make a transition that is better for us in the long-term.

First thing I read in the news on my homepage was – star accused of driving drunk and drag racing – not the best Aquarius-Pisces combination (uniqueness/individuality paired with escapism/losing of boundaries), but certainly not unexpected (Aquarius), rather more disappointing (Neptune) in regard to his image (Pisces).

Happy Birthday to my ‘quirky’ aunt Johanna (who was such a typical Aquarian) in heaven, who died last summer. You are not forgotten.

Astro-Notes on January 22, 2014 – climbing out of a rut

As the Sun in Aquarius squares the nodal axis (NN in

Scorpio/SN in Taurus), we are standing at a turning point on our destined path that challenges us to overcome unproductive past patterns that keep us stuck and repeating the same cycles over and over again. From now on, we have to proceed in a way that will result in more control over our affairs in the future as well as personal empowerment and this will be a liberating experience for the most part, though it might come at a certain cost (especially emotionally), inspiring us to reform our sense of Self. Moreover, Mercury enters the shadow zone of his impending retrograde cycle today and therefore, the themes and issues we’re dealing with at this time might come up for review and change or upgrade during that period.

Tarot card of the day is “The Tower”, signifying inevitable change or at least different conditions as our routines are getting shaken up. If handled well it can bring liberation and freedom. There might be shock due to the suddenness of the event as well as upheaval, but if we’ve been stuck in a rut this will help us to climb out of it. Things are transforming and evolving beyond our control. An era might end – one way or another.
