Astro-Notes on January 15, 2014 – Cancer Full Moon

After squaring the nodal axis (NN in Scorpio/SN in Taurus) yesterday, Mercury in Aquarius moved into a semi-sextile with Juno in Pisces this morning, whereas retrograde Venus in Capricorn engaged in a semi-square to Neptune in Pisces. Thus, we had reached a cross-roads on our destined path that affected matters of communication and as a consequence, things took a turn. Moreover, we had to make a few decisions regarding past patterns to be able to proceed differently in the future, which challenged us to upgrade or change our information, schedules and plans in order to gain control over our affairs and also to get on the same page, especially where shared interests were concerned. With the 7 of Cups as yesterday’s Tarot card, we might have been going back and forth over the same issue until we got it right – at least for now. However, we might still not be happy with some results and there’s also a chance that certain issues remained unresolved due to the complex and complicated circumstances we’re dealing with. Therefore, it is critical that we get better organized and work on the achievement of our preferences one step at a time, which means some of our commitments and promises we made to others have to wait and be addressed at a later point. This is the lead-up to the Cancer Full Moon that will transpire at 11:52 pm EST tonight and will not only bring the Capricorn lunation cycle to its culmination and fruition, but also the seeds sown at the time of the Cancer New Moon on July 8, 2013. Consequently, the “large group of pheasant on a private estate” (Sabian Symbol for the Capricorn New Moon) have become the “guests, reading in the library of a luxurious home” (Sabian Symbol for the Cancer Full Moon – the refinement and propagation of aristocratic values by means of which man participates in the evolution of life toward ever more perfect forms of existence – was the keynote for the Capricorn New Moon that’s now blossoming in this “intellectual enjoyment” – keynote of the Cancer Full Moon) in the same sense as “the unfolding of multilevel potentialities from an original germ” (Sabian Symbol for the Cancer New Moon from July 2013) – the promised “growth” (keyword for the July Cancer New Moon) has transformed the germ into “a nature spirit dancing in the iridescent mist of a waterfall” (Sabian Symbol and keynote of the Capricorn Sun). Accordingly, we’re now confronted with a measure of success and failure (Full Moon) in regard to the “actualization of our birth potential” (keynote of the July Cancer New Moon).

Cancer Full Moon 2014

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 25:58 Cancer states:
“Guests are reading in the library of a luxurious home. Keynote: The transference of social privilege to the level of intellectual enjoyment – CLASS STANDARDS OF INFORMATION.”
The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 25:58 Capricorn states:
“A nature spirit dancing in the iridescent mist of a waterfall. Keynote: The ability to perceive the hidden and creative spirit of natural phenomena – downward flow of OCCULT ENERGY.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and Its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 126-127 and 245, respectively)

Implied by these symbolical pictures is the realization of our creative potential on a higher social level to be able to sustain our position and cultivate our life’s purpose. With the Full Moon combo (Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Cancer) in octile aspects to Chiron in Pisces, professionalism and competence are essential, in particular so since we have to live up to what might seem to us mostly unrealistic expectations and impossible standards, which are curbing our enthusiasm. The more important is it to nurture the ambitions we have, while stepping up to the plate.

Tarot card of the day is “The Empress”, suggesting that the situation is ‘pregnant with promise’, but this fruitfulness includes an ‘incubation period’. There is a deep connection to the anima and the feminine, yin principle, especially the maternal, nurturing side of it that calls upon us to get in touch with our sensuality and source of creativity to experience fulfillment. It is an excellent card for the ‘birth’ of a new idea or project we’re encouraged to love and nurture to fruition. Moreover, we need to find ways to support dialogue and open communication.
