Today, we see a triple ingress to Scorpio, followed by a Solar Eclipse in the very first degree of that sign and things are getting a lot more intense, emotional, extreme, complex and complicated. The Sun’s transit through this sign brings a period of Self-regeneration and –renewal, during which we have a chance to ‘shed a skin’, become more powerful, resourceful and influential and transform our sense of Self together with the way we express or present ourselves, while discarding a part of our personality we’ve outgrown. Whereas Venus’ corresponds to a phase during which we seek to transform our values and to renew and regenerate our life style, assets, relationships and earning potential. Moreover, we could undergo intensified or deepened sense experiences and involvement with the material world, while developing an appetite for life and all it has to offer.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon, Earth and Sun align with the Moon’s nodal axis and the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun. During a partial Solar Eclipse the area of the Earth, which falls within the penumbra of the Moon, where the Sun is partly covered and its light dimmed to varying degrees, sees how the “Moon is taking a bite out of the Sun”. The phenomena of this transition is so palpable to our senses that it transcends the boundaries between the visible and invisible, and thus between the conscious and unconscious. Things that have been eclipsed in the area of our life, represented by the house in our natal chart, where the Eclipse has an impact, have now a chance to be brought into the light of conscious awareness, triggering individual and collective transitions, marked by endings and new beginnings. An Eclipse is a pattern-setting event with duration for up to half a year and longer.
Eclipses belong furthermore to a larger pattern; each Eclipse is a member of a family and each family has specific characteristics. The current Solar Eclipse is a member of the Saros Series 17 New North, which means the Scorpio New Moon/Solar Eclipse is conjunct the North Node of the Moon, a point of spiritual influx, which provides us with the courage to allow new energy in. This Saros Series was the last time around on October 12, 1996 and the same zodiacal degree was highlighted on October 24, 1995 (expect similar experiences to manifest) and it’s hallmark has Venus conjunct Mars while the Node occupies the midpoints of New Moon/Venus, New Moon/Mars and Mercury/Venus, for which Bernadette Brady gives the following interpretation:
“This series brings an impulsive energy to events. Socializing becomes hectic and issues emerge that motivate the individual. This motivation may be concerned with financial projects or relationship issues. Whatever the motivation, it is impulsive, passionate and exciting. Have fun, enjoy it.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Partial Solar Eclipse/New Moon at 0:24 Scorpio states:
“A crowded sight-seeing bus on a city street. Keynote: The fundamental human eagerness to expand one’s social horizon and to experience the results of collective achievements and new ways of life – A WIDENING OF EXPERIENCE.”

Tarot card of the day is the “Knight of Cups”, symbolizing that we’re full of zeal as we serve our desires. We’re on a journey of imagination and creativity, where our idealism and love principle will be put to a test. Therefore, we’ll have to follow our heart in order to find our path.
