Astro Notes on September 27, 2015 – Aries Full Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse

Daily aspects:
– Moon ingress to Aries at 3:28 pm EDT
– Mercury Rx in Libra semi-sextile Jupiter in Virgo
– Total Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon at 4:40 Aries/Libra at 10:50 pm EDT

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon align in close proximity to the Moon’s Nodes and the Moon passes through the deeper shadow cast by the Earth, the umbra, where no direct light from the Sun can reach her. However, the Earth’s atmosphere refracts light, while at the same time filtering it, which illuminates the Moon with a series of varying red colors, depending on the prevailing conditions. This particular lunar eclipse is a Blood Moon and the fourth and final in an ongoing tetrad and the word is that ‘something is going to change’ to which the Sabian Symbol for the lunar eclipse is a testament. Lunar eclipses are felt internally and can trigger unconscious and psychic issues, which constitute our shadow material that is thus being brought ‘into the light of awareness’. Because this particular Lunar eclipse is conjunct the South Node of the Moon, we can expect a release of accumulated emotions and insights. A point has been reached that tips the scales for us. Moreover, we just started a new relationship cycle, during which we have a chance to balance, reconcile and harmonize conditions in our life we struggled with for some time. This readjustment reconnects us with our ‘audience’ or to the social scene and helps us with our chosen mission. It is necessary though that we rekindle our inner flame, stoke the fire that burns within us and rouse our passion for the causes we’ve invested our energy in in the past. Pluto, who has been moving in retrograde motion since April 17, has turned direct 2 days ago. Time to rise from the ashes and to bring those projects we hold sacred back to life. As the impulse that sounded forth with the Virgo New Moon on September 13 culminates, the one that was seeded back in April with the Aries New Moon, is bearing fruits as well. Thus, ‘the girl’s basketball ball team’ (Sabian Symbol for the Virgo NM) has grown ‘a wing’ (Sabian Symbol for the Aries FM) – ‘the physical training for group integration’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Virgo NM) has resulted in the ‘capacity for self-transcending’ and opened us up for ‘a new dimension of Being’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Aries FM), while ‘the music of the spheres’ (Sabian Symbol for the Aries NM) is being ‘transmitted in form of seed ideas or solid and illuminating truths’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Libra Sun). Or in other words, ‘a new world can be built based on these teachings that are being transmitted to us’ (Sabian Symbol for the Libra Sun) for which the Pope’s (who is the ‘highest representative of God’ on Earth) message to the world is an excellent example.

TLE-Aries FM 2015

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 4:40 Aries states:
“A triangle with wings. Keynote: The capacity for self-transcending – a NEW DIMENSION of Being.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 4:40 Libra states:
“A man revealing to his students the foundation of an inner knowledge upon which a ‘new world’ could be built. Keynote: The necessity for the youthful spirits to learn from a teacher, who through his long experience has been able to reach solid and illuminating truths, i.e. ‘seed ideas’ – TRANSMISSION.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 53 and 175, respectively)

This reminds us of the famous Buddhist proverb: “When the student is ready the teacher will appear.” Therefore, we can say that truths or teachings we will hear or spread will fall on fertile grounds. So, listen to the ideas and suggestions experienced people have to offer and start over.

Tarot card of the day is the Queen of Wands”, suggesting that we’re renewing ourselves as we’re summoning our creative energy and approach our life’s situations energetically and confident. We are not afraid of challenges and use our tremendous energy constructively as well as within the scope of our capabilities, which means we’re equipped to be successful and to effectively multi-task.

Astro-Notes on September 23, 2015 – Fall Equinox

Daily aspects:
– Sun ingress to Libra at 4:20 am EDT – Fall Equinox and sextile Saturn in Sagittarius
– Mercury Rx in Libra semi-square Mars in Leo
– Moon ingress to Aquarius at 1:51 pm EDT

The Sun’s ingress to Libra, which marks the Autumnal Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere, happened early this morning at 4:20 am EDT. His crossing over the intersection point of the Celestial Equator and the Ecliptic in the West and change from North to South Declination corresponds to a time of transition and gear change. Day and night are of equal length once again with the nights growing longer and the days shorter from now on. Summer has ended, nature is beginning to batten down, darkness is increasing and it’s getting colder. It’s a time of harvesting – the second of the three Pagan harvest festivals (Mabon) – of ingathering and taking stock that makes us aware that we are part of and affected by a larger wholeness to which we must respond and adapt. A phase of restoring equilibrium and of balancing as well as bringing harmony to key life projects and relationships has begun, during which we seek to express ourselves more peacefully, poised and agreeable, while striving to be civil, cooperate and accommodate, thus refining our personality and social skills. This ingress happened with the Sun in sextile aspect to Saturn in Sagittarius and approaching a conjunction with the North Node (opposition South Node in Aries), suggesting that we can take advantage of lessons learnt to move on from the past and put past struggles behind us if we consciously choose so. As the Sun shines a light on our future prospects, we relationship dynamics could set us more at ease or create conflicts, depending on which site of the fence we’re sitting. Therefore, it is critical not to overreact or to respond dramatically or angrily in times of crisis. With a fire grand trine between Pallas in Sagittarius, Uranus Rx in Aries and Venus in Leo dominating the chart for this event, ‘politics’ are changing and so are our feelings, relationships and values. Retrograde Chiron in Pisces provides a trigger to this configuration that either serves to bridge and unite by getting us on the same team or side, or to divide by defeat and adding insult to injury or salt to the wound.

Fall Equinox 2015

Tarot card of the day is The Moon”, suggesting that some things are hidden from conscious view, making it necessary to look well below the surface in order to find clarity or truth. On the other hand, invisible things could be brought to the surface and unforeseen perils could be experienced. This card has moreover the potential to project fears into the present and future based on past ordeals. Repressed thoughts, images and feelings could cause overwhelming disturbances. We might be longing for sleep. It is important to remedy this for which we need to go through a purging process, thereby releasing deep memories. The Moon is a card of illusion and deception, and therefore often suggests a time when something is not as it appears, causing errors in our judgment. It is also possible that we may have lost our way and are now left to walk in the dark, guided only by our inner light and intuition. Nonetheless, we need to go on without a clear picture of where we are or where we are going. It is true that things are vague and illusive, neither clear nor certain or definitive in any way and that therefore we may be torn between many influences, which could distract us from following our core path. The more important is it to reflect upon our life and to use our intuitive abilities or listen to our inner voice to get in touch with our vision. Renewal is possible and secrets may be revealed as we’re walking these dreamscapes. The Moon is moreover a symbol of the turning tides and can refer to healing abilities and other psychic or intuitive work.

Astro-Notes on September 21, 2015 – First Quarter Moon

Daily aspects:
– Vesta Rx in Aries semi-sextile Neptune Rx in Pisces
– Juno conjunct NN in Libra/opposite SN in Aries
– Venus in Leo trine Pallas in Sagittarius
– Mercury Rx in Libra semi-square Saturn in Sagittarius
– First Quarter Moon at 28:04 Sagittarius/Virgo at 4:59 am EDT
– Moon ingress to Capricorn at 8:32 am EDT
– Mars in Leo sesqui Pluto Rx in Capricorn

The First Quarter Moon transpired early this morning and the accompanying ‘crisis in action’ challenged us ‘to get

our ducks in a row’. Time is running away from us. We’re in between eclipses and we need to be more productive if we want to reach our goals. Therefore, we need to increase our efforts, pace ourselves so that we can be more efficient and review all the tasks we have as yet to accomplish. Moreover, we have to handle our affairs with more confidence and our resources with more competence if we want to do better for ourselves and see some results. Thus, we might have reconsidered in material, financial or contractual matters and turned the situation to our advantage. A rather negative example of this energy is found in this headline – A former hedge fund manager jacked up the price of a crucial drug by more than 5000% and people are furious – and right so! Especially in regard to the keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Virgo lunation cycle, which is “group integration”. A major fail!

Tarot card of the day is the Ace of Wands”, suggesting an upsurge of ideas and imagination and the drive and energy necessary to undertake such projects. There is the promise of motion, direction and positive energy and thus, we could be feeling quite energetic and enthusiastic as well as optimistic and hopeful for the future. Today we’re driven by a strong, creative force, proceed with courage and confidence and expand our potential.

Astro-Notes on September 13, 2015 – Virgo New Moon/Partial Solar Eclipse

Daily aspects:
– Partial Solar Eclipse/New Moon at 20:10 Virgo at 2:41 am EDT
– Mars in Leo trine Eris Rx in Aries
– Moon ingress to Libra at 10:40 pm EDT

The last aspects the Virgo Sun made before heading into the new cycle was an opposition to retrograde Chiron in Pisces and a quincunx to retrograde Uranus in Aries, confronting us with a sore wound or unresolved problem, which has been a source of continuous worrying and overwhelm for us and required a personal adjustment that involved a review of our choices in this matter so that the necessary changes can be made. Mercury in Libra’s semi-square to Saturn in the last degree of Scorpio indicates a rather acute and pressing crisis that calls for fair decisions regarding our shared responsibilities and our ‘threatened’ sense of structure and control. For instance, at work we are receiving lots of extra merchandise for our anniversary sale next week and with that the first Christmas items are coming in as well, while we are preparing ourselves for inventory. Therefore, we got our work cut out for us. Especially for us department managers these final days before the ‘moment of truth or transparency’ will be even more stressful than usual. Pages upon pages filled with item numbers for merchandise we have to find and count have already been handed to us and a first meeting with the new store manager took place. So, the game is on, the player have moved into their positions and the ball is in our court. We have been ‘fired up’ for this contest. Now its up to each of us to perform our role and purpose to the best of our abilities and to contribute to the success of the team. Yesterday evening I got together with a friend of mine and stayed in her home overnight. We talked about our personal problems and ‘wounds’ and did a couple of readings, while enjoying some wine and snacks. Her personal situation has changed. So, hopefully, we’ll see more of each other in the future and will be able to spend some time together. This development is definitely something I have been longing and waiting for since I moved here.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon, the Earth and the Sun align with the Moon’s nodal axis and the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun. During a partial Solar Eclipse the area of the Earth, which falls within the penumbra of the Moon, where the Sun is partly covered and its light dimmed to varying degrees, sees how the “Moon is taking a bite out of the Sun”. The phenomena of this transition is so palpable to our senses that it transcends the boundaries between the visible and invisible, and thus between the conscious and unconscious. Things that have been eclipsed in the area of our life, represented by the house in our natal chart, where the Eclipse has an impact, have now a chance to be brought into the light of conscious awareness, triggering individual and collective transitions, marked by endings and new beginnings. An Eclipse is a pattern-setting event with duration for up to half a year and longer. Eclipses belong furthermore to a larger pattern; each Eclipse is a member of a family and each family has specific characteristics.
The current Solar Eclipse is a member of the Saros Series 18 North, which means the Virgo New Moon/Solar Eclipse is conjunct the North Node of the Moon, a point of spiritual influx, which provides us with the courage to allow new energy in. This Saros Series was the last time around in September 1997 (look for the common theme). There is a Mercury-Pluto conjunction present and Uranus is on the midpoint of Mars/Saturn, for which Bernadette Brady gives the following interpretation:

“A high stress level accompanies the energy of this series and individuals will experience a taxing of their strengths. Events will occur that require the expenditure of effort; this can also manifest as illness or accident. The whole flavor of this eclipse is one of physical concern, as well as worry or obsessive thinking.”

(Bernadette Brady, “The Eagle and the Lark”, Appendices, Pages 333-334)

The Sabian Symbol for the Solar Eclipse/New Moon at 20:10 Virgo states:

“A girl’s basketball team. Keynote: Physical training as a means to inculcate the feeling of participation in a collective culture – GROUP INTEGRATION.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 163-164)

Partial SE-Virgo NM 2015

Tarot card of the day is the Page of Pentacles”, a card that encourages us to begin putting those plans and actions in place that will ultimately lead us toward the fulfillment of our goals and dreams. It is time to start acting on all those grand ideas and concepts that have been brewing in our imagination. No matter what’ll take, we need to see the project through and work on the realization of our vision.

Astro-Notes on September 5, 2015 – Third Quarter Moon

Daily aspects:
– Third Quarter Moon at 12:31 Gemini/Virgo at 5:54 am EDT
– Juno in Virgo trine Ceres Rx in Capricorn
– Sun in Virgo trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn

After we took action for the sake of the things we hold sacred and fought for causes that need our support, failure or refusal to care and other flaws or limits in matters of commitment in a relationship situation, where we have to help are now under review so that we can work out how to improve these conditions and relations – as seen in the tragic example of the Syrian refugees trying to reach our shores and borders. A stark reality that reminds us that war has consequences that will eventually affect all of us in the same sense as the weather pattern or climate change, the ecology, the economy and politics in general do. Consequently, the ‘crisis in consciousness’ that accompanies the Third Quarter Moon challenges us to be flexible and adaptable in the ways we ‘serve the world’ or the larger community (the keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Leo New Moon was “world-server”), even if that means we have to use our personal or community resources. Many private people in the Western world have opened their homes to the refugees from these war-torn countries – we truly see history in the making. A large part of humanity is evolving and responding to the calling of our times, thereby following the path of the ‘light’, while others sink deeper into ‘darkness’ or ignorance. Though this too is human nature. Anyway, I wanted to post this early in the morning before I had to leave for work, but I had to straighten my hair again due to the high humidity in our area here and prepare my lunch, because I had chatted with my daughter yesterday night. Our new store manager officially started today (our work week begins on Saturday). So, there will be a ‘fresh wind blowing’ from now on. Other than that, I’ll be focusing on the upcoming eclipses and will be available for readings.

Tarot card of the day is the Knight of Cups”, symbolizing that we’re full of zeal as we serve our desires. We’re on a journey of imagination and creativity, where our idealism and love principle will be put to a test. Therefore, we’ll have to follow our heart in order to find our path.
