Astro-Notes on November 25, 2015 – Gemini Full Moon

Daily aspects:
– Mars in Libra trine Ceres in Aquarius
– Mercury in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces, sextile Ceres in Aquarius, sesqui Eris Rx in Aries and sextile Mars in Libra
– Moon ingress to Gemini at 12:15 pm EST
– Chiron Rx in Pisces semi-sextile Uranus Rx in Aries
– Full Moon at 3:20 Gemini/Sagittarius at 5:44 pm EST

Yesterday, the Vesta-South Node conjunction in Pisces perfected for a last time, bringing up the question if we worship the past, which would also suggest that we remain blissfully ignorant, evasive or oblivious toward certain issues and keep repeating past karma. Another manifestation would be a unquestioning devotion to sacrifices for the ‘greater good’ or whatever cause we consider holy or sacred. Unsurprisingly, this creates a conflict with our future prospects, which are centring on resolutions and improvement (NN in Virgo). Therefore, Mercury and Saturn began a new synodic cycle in the sign of the archer, Sagittarius, who aims heaven-ward. Thus, the corresponding period will see increased focus on and communication or information exchange about a growing sense of structure, limitation, fear and control, all of which is challenging our higher ideals and vision of a unified world or our unrealized dreams, because of the doubts we have and the uncertainties or unknown factors we’re dealing with. Consequently, there will be delays and not all expectations or promises can be met. Our nurturing and support principle has changed as the result of recent replacements or new relationships or arrangements and agreements. Things are different now, which means we can actually make progress if we commit ourselves toward this end and work together on problem solving for our various situations. As the Scorpio lunation cycle culminates in the Gemini Full Moon, the impulse that sounded forth with the Gemini New Moon in June of this year will also come to fruition. Thus, ‘the overheard conversation the parrot repeats’ (Sabian Symbol for the Scorpio New Moon) is about ‘old memories of Christmas’ (Sabian Symbol for the Gemini Full Moon) – imitation leads to memorization – and this particular one is a reminder of the ‘Christ consciousness’ we need to ‘imitate’ or be inspired by, because the darkness and cold or the crystallization of stereotypes (‘frost-covered trees against winter skies’ is the Sabian Symbol for the Gemini New Moon from June) can only be conquered by the light and warmth of the ‘love principle’. It is essential now that we learn to walk our talk and follow in the footsteps of natural leaders – if only tentatively – who will show us how to ‘resolve conflicts’ (keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius Sun) in spite of our differing worldviews and backgrounds.

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 3:20 Gemini states:
“Holly and mistletoe reawaken old memories of Christmas. Keynote: A longing for the pre-intellectual state of consciousness – RETURN TO THE SOURCE.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 3:20 Sagittarius states:
“A little child learning to walk with the encouragement of his parents. Keynote: The natural assistance of superior powers during crisis of growth – RESOLUTION OF CONFLICT.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “ An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 91-92 and 212, respectively)

Tarot card of the day is The Chariot”, suggesting that we take control and move forward with care. There is a need to remain focused and to keep the emotions in check. We need to harness our energy and apply it wisely. Self-discipline is important to be able to balance the light and shadow aspects of our personality.

Astro-Notes on November 19, 2015 – First Quarter Moon

Daily aspects:
– First Quarter Moon at 26:35 Aquarius/Scorpio at 1:27 am EST
– Moon ingress to Pisces at 7:21 am EST
– Mercury in Scorpio trine Vesta in Pisces and semi-square Pluto in Capricorn

Neptune, who was in retrograde motion since June 12, stationed in Pisces as the First Quarter Moon of the Scorpio lunation cycle was forming. Therefore, we can say that this particular ‘crisis in action’ that accompanies this stage in the lunation cycle is challenging our ‘intelligence sharing’ (channelship is the keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Scorpio New Moon) and higher values (“a parrot repeats the conversation he has overheard” is the Sabian Symbol for the Scorpio New Moon), because our reviewed ideals are being tested, which is evident in the case of the Syrian refugees (a Neptunian theme) after the latest terrorist attack on Western soil. As a consequence, we feel divided once again in regard to our common humanity and shared values. The threat and fear of terrorism distance us from these humanitarian matters, causing us to question these peoples’ motives and whether they can be trusted. So, what did we actually expect after years and years of bringing war and death to their lands, bombing them and providing them with weapons? Now that ‘war’ has been declared on us in the ‘free world’, we’re experiencing the ‘echo’ effect or backlash, or in other words, the tragic consequences of our actions, and we don’t know how many ‘perpetrators’ already slipped through our porous borders; neither do we know how many sleeper cells have been set up all over the Western World for their jihad. In the Bible it says “What goes around comes around” – this refers to the physical law of cause and effect. Does this mean we are doomed? Are we committing collective suicide? An eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth. The question is: Are we able to escape from this vicious cycle and evolve from this? Not without facing our demons. As we collectively grieved for the victims of the attack in Paris, it became quickly obvious that some lives do matter more to us than others. A very disturbing truth indeed. Atrocities are being committed almost daily all over the world. Innocents are being sacrificed and seen as collateral damage. The end justifies the means – but apparently only as long as it concerns THEM. With Mercury in Scorpio the issues are more complex, asking us to look deeper, to uncover the threads in this web that connects us and to be aware of the complications we have to deal with. Our world has changed and it will take a lot of effort to work out our conflicts, find solutions to our problems and improve our situation (Jupiter in Virgo). In fact, checks and controls will increase (Saturn in Sagittarius) and there will be more surveillance, tighter rules and more policing. So, be aware of that and prepared, especially when you travel.
Personally, I have moved lots of merchandise in my department over the last couple of days as we are getting ready for Black Friday. Finally, I’m overcoming a sense of powerlessness, because I’m running out of space and options for these mountains of merchandise. At the same time did I have to deal with lots of paperwork and different overseeing agencies because of my “injuries”, which is rather annoying. Too much bureaucracy for my taste.

Tarot card of the day is the Knight of Wands”, suggesting that an important matter is likely to enter our life and demand our attention. Therefore, we have to be ready to react quickly and to go with the flow. Our present situation will soon change and we have to make important decisions. Consequently, we’re charging forth with ideas and visions to make things happen, while tackling any challenge that stands in our way. It is important that we show ambition, are high-spirited, strong-willed and determined and take calculated risks.

Astro-Notes on November 11, 2015 – Scorpio New Moon

Daily aspects:
– Sun in Scorpio semi-square Pallas in Capricorn
– Mercury in Scorpio semi-square NN in Libra/sesqui SN in Aries
– New Moon at 19:00 Scorpio at 12:47 pm EST
– Venus in Libra trine Ceres in Aquarius and square Pallas in Cap
– Pallas in Capricorn semi-sextile Ceres in Aquarius
– NN ingress to Virgo at 8:02 pm EST/SN ingress to Pisces (until May 9 2017)

When the Sun is transiting the sign Scorpio things are getting more complex, complicated and intense. Therefore, we’ve been dealing with several crises, which have been asking for decisiveness and resourcefulness, in particular what our future prospects concerns. The moment of truth has arrived. We have to accept what life or destiny dished out for us and take it from there. Thus, it is no coincidence that the transiting nodal axis will change signs tonight at the beginning of this new cycle, bringing a significant shift in energy that will affect our life’s direction for the next 1 and a half years. The last 18 months were often marked by unjust, unbalanced and unfair conditions that kept us struggling, but also motivated us to move on from these circumstances and set things straight. And although we have been for the most part pretty self-determined, self-reliant and driven during this time, the situation demanded cooperation, collaboration and compromise from us to keep the principle of giving and receiving together with our sense of ‘me and we’ in equilibrium – whether we liked it or not. In fact, we might have fought these developments at first, became angry and reactive or offensive and even ‘went to war’ with others. However, as this phase is ending, we’re more accepting of special circumstances and emergencies and support each other. Moreover, our values, relationships and arrangements have changed in due process, because of these trends, alterations and even reforms we underwent. Yet, the challenge of limited ‘maneuver-ability’ or ‘manageability’ remains. Consequently, our focus for the next 18 months will be on improvement, error correction, functionality, simplification and working out resolutions in order to overcome victimization, losses, overwhelm, confusion and helplessness.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 19:00 Scorpio states:
“A parrot repeats the conversation he has overheard. Keynote: The capacity to transmit transcendental knowledge – CHANNELSHIP.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “ An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page 203)

Scorpio New Moon 2015

By observing and imitating or emulating those with more experience, skill and knowledge, we learn to manage our affairs more effectively and can be of better service. Moreover, dwelling on the past won’t do us any favors, yet awareness of our mistakes or ‘self-undoing’ will help us to avoid this in the future.

Tarot card of the day is Justice”, indicating that justice will be served and a fair decision will be made. The workings of karma will be evident. Therefore, an understanding of cause and effect or consequences is necessary. A sharp mind is needed and so is a clear-sighted view. This is a time to remain objective and impartial. We need to apply ethical principles, try to do what’s right and play by the rules. Thus, we can handle the situation and settle old accounts and debts.

Astro-Notes on November 3, 2015 – Third Quarter Moon

Daily aspects:
– Third Quarter Moon at 10:45 Leo/Scorpio at 7:23 am EST
– Juno in Libra opposite Uranus Rx in Aries and quincunx Chiron Rx in Pisces
– Mercury in Scorpio semi-square Jupiter in Virgo and sesqui Chiron Rx in Pisces
– Jupiter in Virgo opposite Chiron Rx in Pisces and quincunx Uranus Rx in Aries

This morning’s ‘crisis in consciousness’ that accompanies the Third Quarter Moon concerns “a rabbi’s ability to perform his duties” (Sabian Symbol for the Libra New Moon), thereby testing our sense of Self (Leo) in matters related to business and shared values (Scorpio). Consequently, a ‘wound’ or other problem could prevent us from living up to our own standards or to meet the expectations of others, which goes against our principles and beliefs, especially if our performance and role within these dynamics are important to us. However, at this point we have to admit to ourselves that we have to accept what we cannot change and need to seek others’ cooperation, while finding solutions that work for all parties. For instance, over a week ago I strained my wrist. I put it in a velcro brace with steel inside and continued with my usual duties. This hasn’t done me any good though. On the contrary, the injury will only get worse this way and therefore I will have to ask for lighter duties for as long as the healing will take, which means I have to put myself first instead of giving it my all at work (pulling my weight). Since I’m very committed (as a Scorpio it’s all or nothing for me), I feel of course guilty about this. It doesn’t sit well with me. But with transiting Saturn in Sagittarius squaring my natal Mars in Virgo (in house 12), I know I have been defeated by the taskmaster, who’s teaching me an important lesson about sacrifice (necessary and unnecessary ones), patience (a virtue I don’t possess) and self-undoing.

Tarot card of the day is Judgment”, suggesting that we’re having a day of reckoning, when we can find absolution or are heeding a call. Therefore, it’s important that we use good judgment, release all sorrows and lift ourselves up. We might have experienced an epiphany that opens ourselves up to a new possibility, which is like an awakening to new life that can lead to renewal and change.
