Over the last couple of days relationship dynamics have reached a critical point with the potential to trigger spontaneous reactions, provocations and incidents if we didn’t watch out and controlled our temper or kept our tongue in cheek. Therefore, it was imperative that we took a moment and thought things through or allowed ourselves to come to our senses before we reacted or responded instead of charging ahead full of steam and letting our emotions run away with us. The choice was and is ours and will determine whether we will set a positive or a negative example based on our attitude or state of mind. Thus, it’s up to us to decide if we want to emulate mindfulness and higher ideals or values instilled and shown to us or if we want to set up the stage for disaster and strife. If we can overcome our inner demons and other temptations and win this struggle with ourselves, we will be able to demonstrate a higher mindedness that puts us in the position to inspire others toward cooperation and helps us to keep the peace. Although this is a time of high pressure, when we could feel overwhelmed, confused, stressed out or under much duress, we need to remain aware of ourselves and the state of mind we are in as well as our role in these situations. Consequently, we need to keep our wits about ourselves, try to detach and take a step back to be able to reason with ourselves, reign in any compulsive tendencies we may have and accept what we can’t change. Once we clarified this, it’ll be easier for us to be objective in our dealings with others – whether we agree with them or not. Moreover, we might have to try several times to get our point across, but we will eventually succeed. It just depends on how persistent and convincing we are and in particular on the tone and the approach we are using.

As the Gemini lunation cycle culminates in the Sagittarius Full Moon, the impulse that sounded forth at the time of the Sagittarius New Moon in December of last year will also come to fruition. Thus, the image of the ‘two Dutch children talking to each other as like-minded individuals’ (Sabian Symbol for the Gemini New Moon) has been replaced by the one of ‘the Pope, blessing the faithful in a gesture of personalized worship’ (Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius Full Moon). The former are connected through their shared language and heritage and the latter are connected through their shared faith and rituals, which is suggestive of a progression from the individual level to the social and even universal level – personal mentalities are being taking to the social and universal level. Whereas the image of ‘men cutting of the ice of a frozen pond in an old-fashioned northern village for use during the summer’ (Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius New Moon from last December) has been fulfilled in the image of ‘a parade of bathing beauties before large beach crowds’ (Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius Sun), implying that once the ice has been cut and the cold or crystallization of the feelings (ice refers to a frozen state of water) has been overcome, ‘social standards of persona excellence and competition can be set’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius Sun).

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 29:32 Sagittarius states:
“The Pope, blessing the faithful. Keynote: The need to pay homage to traditional values upon which the invisible community of the Spirit is built – PERSONALIZED WORSHIP.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 29:32 Gemini states:
“A parade of bathing beauties before large beach crowds. Keynote: The setting of social standards through personal excellence and competition – the SHOW is over. Now comes the hour of decision.”

2. Sag FM 2016

Reaching its northernmost point from the Equator, the Sun’s ingress to Cancer at 6:34 pm EDT tonight marks the Summer Solstice and the beginning of summer. Consequently, here in the Northern Hemisphere, we experience the longest day, whereas for the Southern Hemisphere it is the longest night and the start of winter. As the Sun seems to stand still (sol sistere) high in the sky, we transition into ‘stasis’ and have a chance to pause, stop and take stock before fully committing ourselves to the new season. Individual development is at peak. There is liveliness and vibrancy as well as a re-gathering and refocusing of intent. A time of Self-nurturance and Self-care, even Self-protection, as well as of sustaining and supporting our sense of Self is beginning now, when we seek to tend to our roots and foster a sense of belonging.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Wands”,suggesting that things are changing in a positive way. There is the possibility of acclaim and acknowledgment. It could be our day to shine or we could be coming out on top. We strive to be successful and seek to promote ourselves more frequently in order to gain the recognition we desire. However, it is important that we keep the ego in check.

Astro-Notes on June 12, 2016 – First Quarter Moon

Daily Aspects:
– Saturn Rx in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces
– Uranus conjunct Eris in Aries
– Pluto Rx in Capricorn trine NN in Virgo/sextile SN in Pisces
– Juno Rx in Libra semi-square Jupiter in Virgo
– First Quarter Moon at 21:47 Virgo/Gem at 4:09 am EDT
– Mars Rx in Scorpio trine Chiron in Pisces
– Venus in Gemini sextile Eris-Uranus in Aries
– Mercury in Taurus quincunx Juno Rx in Libra and ingress to Gemini at 7:22 pm EDT (until June 29)
– Moon ingress to Libra at 8:33 pm EDT

Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn has aligned with the North Node in Virgo, showing that we took the necessary steps to improve our future prospects over the course of the last few days through the successful management of our affairs – whether that concerned personal matters or business affairs. Another trine from retrograde Pluto-ruled Mars in Scorpio to Chiron in Pisces indicates that this involved reversing our course of action after a review of intentions and the results they yielded from which healing or problem solving might now ensue. However, we have received mixed messages or have even been provoked or dared by others repeatedly, which requires from us to adjust our values, priorities and communication style in a way that not only suits on own best interests, but also our interactions with important others we want to get to cooperate with us. Therefore, at this First Quarter square in the Gemini lunation cycle, we’re challenged to overcome our prejudices and differences in order to be able to get on the same page instead of going back and forth over the same things time and again. This means we have to sort and work out our issues in a reasonable and objective manner without ‘selling ourselves short’. After Mercury’s ingress to Gemini, one of his home signs, tonight, where he will be traversing until June 29, will we be more inclined toward looking at both sides of an issue, addressing or dealing with several things at once, focusing on facts and gathering information as well as adapting our viewpoint and talking things out. Moreover, we will also be more open towards meeting new people or making new connections, while seeking to get around and keep ourselves busy and mobile. Once the Moon has moved to Libra tonight, it’ll be easier for us to feel at peace and just relax, letting all the worries be removed from our mind.

My close surroundings here really portray the current astrological climate well: There’s been such a commotion between cats, squirrels and birds since the early morning hours that I was unable to sleep in. They’re fighting over their territory and they’re very expressive about it. The same is true about the situation I had to deal with at work these last few days. No matter what we communicated, asked or confronted the other party with, it kept going on in the same manner every single day – the test of limits and faith exemplified in the Saturn-Neptune square that emphasizes the difficulties and seemingly insurmountable obstacles thrown in our way, which prevent us from achieving our long-term goals and vision or ideals.

Tarot card of the day is the “9 of Swords”, suggesting that is important to maintain trust and faith instead of letting negative thoughts, worries and concerns are getting the best of us. We need to be patient as better things or opportunities might come along soon. There is no need to put ourselves down or get overwhelmed or anxious. Circumstances are just unfortunate momentarily and the overall situation is rather complex.

Astro-Notes on June 4, 2016 – Gemini New Moon

Daily Aspects:
– Ceres in Aries quincunx NN in Virgo/semi-sextile SN in Pisces
– Sun in Gemini square Jupiter in Virgo
– Vesta in Gemini semi-square Uranus and Eris in Aries
– Venus in Gemini square Jupiter in Virgo
– Venus conjunct Sun in Gemini
– New Moon at 14:53 Gemini at 10:59 pm EDT
– Sun in Gemini sesqui Juno Rx in Scorpio
– Venus in Gemini sesqui Juno Rx in Scorpio
– Uranus conjunct Eris in Aries

Since the beginning of the month, both, the Sun and Venus in Gemini, have been moving through the mutable t-square, comprised of Neptune in Pisces, retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Virgo, while Venus has been catching up with the Sun. Thus, as pressure has been building up steadily and demands on us have been increasing, we could have felt stretched too thin and put on edge, thereby undergoing a range of emotions and experiencing our share of disillusionment and disappointment, all of which left us either confused, cranky or irritable, or uncomfortable in our own skin, frustrated and stressed out. This could have easily resulted in a few misunderstandings and misconceptions as we were trying to rush things to be able to meet our objectives, common goals and expectations through multi-tasking and a lot of moving back and forth. Moreover, we’re facing a lot of antagonism and our plans are getting crossed so that our problems and challenges are growing bigger before we can get a handle on them. And although it seems that time is running away from us, we have to realize that there’s only so much we can do and also that we can only be in one place at a time. All this craze we’re dealing with is not our fault and therefore, we can’t take it personally or get caught up in it, but have to focus on staying our course and doing the best we can. We’re set to make progress – there’s no stopping us. However, we can’t force the issue or think we can have things our way all the time, but need to be reasonable as well as considerate in our approach and in the way we react or respond. Therefore, it’s important to discern wisely and adapt to the circumstances when it is called for or more effective, especially what our priorities and values concerns. In fact, whether we like it or not, we might have to budge a bit. This is not about winning or losing – it’s about being efficient and resourceful as well as able to manage whatever life throws at us.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 14:53 Gemini states:

“Two Dutch children talking to each other, exchanging their knowledge. Keynote: The need to clarify one’s experiences through actual contacts with like-minded individuals – OBJECTIVITY.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page 99)

Gemini NM 2016

With this New Moon and Venus engaged in the Grand Cross, objectivity is hard to come by, because different agendas might collide and we might not always be on the same page or wavelength, but there is no need to war and struggle unnecessarily. The situation calls for mindfulness. Consequently, we have to understand that it’s ultimately up to us if we do it the easy or the hard way. Even if don’t succeed with everything we set out to do, it doesn’t mean we didn’t try everything in our power and gave it our best shot. Sometimes, there are just too many factors against us. Life keeps us on a learning curve. All we need to know is that we will get through this together.

Tarot card of the day is the “10 of Pentacles”, suggesting that we seek out permanence and are looking for a solution that will last. Therefore, we are working on the creation of a lasting foundation by moving beyond makeshift arrangements and through a consensus of vision. This card refers to a climax in our foundational life, a culmination, completion or achievement we’ve reached that is the result of our material and tangible efforts and allows us to make a commitment to a sustainable future. We’re now investing in long-term benefits, knowing that we need a consistent approach in order to achieve success that will stand the test of time.
