Yesterday morning did Mercury station direct in Virgo in trine aspect to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn (restructuring/reorganizing) and in semi-square aspect to Venus in Libra (just assessment/equal relations). Since August 30th has he been tracing back his steps to this particular degree (14+ Virgo – Mercury’s degree of exaltation no less), which corresponded to a period of review in all matters of communing and communication, data processing, information exchange and association, especially in regard to health, service, obligations and daily routines. Although he will only leave his shadow zone on October 6, these matters will slowly, but surely, begin to move forward from now on. Moreover, we’re seeing some real results now or at least undeniable proof of what we’ve suspected all along. Secret thoughts are being shared, hidden truths uncovered and confessions are being made. We’re finding out where we are standing and thus, can finalize or complete a complicated process or state of affairs that was mostly beyond our control.
As retrograde Ceres in Taurus approaches a quincunx to Jupiter in Libra, we are no longer stuck support-wise, but can initiate the necessary adjustments after this option in our negotiations with others opened up, shown by retrograde Vesta in Cancer’s trine to retrograde Chiron in Pisces that indicates that we successfully bridged a problem concerning a domestic project or cause, which has been delayed for a while. However, this requires some compromising and accommodating priority- and value-wise and also the willingness to cooperate and work with others as a team or toward an agreement, as well as some form of peace and reconciliation. The Uranus-Eris conjunction in Aries (with both planetary bodies in retrograde motion) is a potent symbol for the signs of our times, and the trends in our society in particular. It is undeniable that our world is a state of upheaval, chaos, discord and strife. In fact, we’re witnessing a decline of the Western civilization with the process of individualization (and thus the development of the ego) reaching a high point and our sense of separatism dividing us and leading us farther away from our common humanity, causing us to react drastically, radically and extreme when we feel threatened or insecure and unsafe. Amidst the never-ending wars and the acts of terrorism that have become an almost daily occurrence now, the Jolie-Pitt divorce is making the headlines in the news, drawing attention to a drama that plays out in a family setting – these celebrities are embodying our idols, or in other words, the ‘gods of our age’. And this is the fulcrum of the matter, opening our eyes to our modern ‘mythologies’ or sense of idealism. How can we possibly work things out with others, who are so different from us, when we cannot resolve conflicts within our own families (and this one has 6 children whose lifes will be turned upside down due to the trauma that is unfolding for them)? Is this not reason enough to seek counseling and make amends by starting to look at ourselves first and what needs to be changed in this regard?
Meanwhile, the Sun made ingress to Libra (holding the mirror into our faces among other things), marking the Fall Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun’s crossing over the intersection point of the Celestial Equator and the Ecliptic in the West and change from North to South Declination relates to a time of transition and gear change. Day and night are of equal length again with the nights growing longer and the days shorter from now on. Summer has ended, nature is beginning to batten down, darkness is increasing its reach and it’s getting colder, at least during the nights. It’s a time of harvesting and taking stock, of turning inward and reflecting that makes us aware that we are part of and affected by a larger wholeness to which we must respond and adapt. A phase of restoring balance in our life and bringing harmony to key life projects and relationships has begun and it’s meeting its first tests already in the ‘crisis of consciousness’ that accompanies the Third Quarter Moon in addition to the Libra Sun’s semi-square to Juno in Scorpio.
So, our main objective in this fall season is to evolve our relationship principle, or in other words, engage with others in a more civil, cordial, considerate and fair manner. This, in turn, challenges us to care more for each other and thus, to be less subjective or prejudiced when we judge a situation or a person. Therefore, Venus’ ingress to Scorpio this morning, where she will be traversing until October 18, correlates to a time when we seek to transform and evolve our value system, deepen our relationships, let go off attachments, which only hold us back, regenerate on an emotional and self-worth level and influence our earning and marketing abilities.
Tarot card of the day is the “7 of Pentacles”, suggesting growth will happen only slowly. The seeds have been sown, but there is no sign yet that they have germinated. Some things are moving along well and we feel hopeful about the future, while others seem to be pointless. It’s time now to assess which of our energy investments are worth it and where we might have to change direction. Thus, we are taking stock, reflecting on our progress, questioning our choices and find out where we stand.
