Astro-Notes on November 29, 2016 – Sagittarius New Moon

Daily Aspects:
– New Moon at 7:42 Sagittarius at 7:18 am EST
– Sun in Sagittarius sesqui-quadrate Eris Rx in Aries, square nodal axis and conjunct Juno
– Venus in Capricorn sextile Chiron Rx in Pisces and square Uranus Rx and Ceres Rx in Aries
– Juno in Sagittarius square nodal axis
– Mars in Aquarius semi-sextile Pluto in Capricorn

The Sagittarius New Moon is the turning point in the period from the September eclipse to the February eclipse next year, which means we have to turn a corner now in regard to the seed message and the revelations brought forth by the September eclipse and this affects the role we play in our interactions with others and how we present ourselves in this regard, in particular so, because our self-interests are at stake.
With the South Node conjunct Neptune in Pisces and the North Node in Virgo, the fulcrum of the matter is that we need to understand we can only escape the past and the patterns we find ourselves trapped in time and again if we become aware of these dynamics and don’t allow ourselves to be victimized by them any longer, but aim to improve our situation by finding workable solutions that help us to do so.

A New Moon in Sagittarius is the perfect time to set intentions toward expansion, growth, purposefulness, generosity, tolerance and understanding. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign that follows the deep, dark waters of Scorpio. Thus, it is the time of the year when we seek to spread the light and warmth, qualities which are associated with the Sun, by decorating our homes and surroundings and getting in the spirit of the festivities we are so looking forward to. We’re filled with excitement and joviality, optimism returns and so does faith, while we open our minds and broaden our outlook on life, which is also the result of emerging from a struggle with our own shadow and psychic complexes we had to undergo during the Sun’s transit through Scorpio. Although it’s been quite a trial, we can rest assured that our efforts will pay off in the long run.

As Venus in Capricorn forms a sextile with retrograde Chiron in Pisces and a square with retrograde Uranus and retrograde Ceres in Aries, it seems as though we’re back to square one, where it all began, because we got too comfortable with the progress we made, even though it wasn’t really what we wanted or didn’t fill us with the contentment or sense of accomplishment we had hoped for. We settled without properly preparing for a different future or the newest trends; a realization we made after our current circumstances forced us to review this latest phase of our life.
Now that the Sun is approaching a square with Neptune in Pisces right at the beginning of this new cycle, we have to acknowledge that life is a learning curve and no matter how disillusioning things are at the moment, it is never too late to start anew. Therefore, Mars in Aquarius’ semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn indicates that we adjust our intentions accordingly to be able to manage our affairs more efficiently and constructively.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 7:42 Sagittarius states:

“Within the depth of the Earth new elements are being formed. Keynote: The alchemical fire, which both purifies and transforms the very substance of man’s inner life – a kind of PSYCHIC GESTATION.”

Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page214)

Suggested by this symbolical picture is that in order to turn ‘lead or dark matter into gold’ we have to shape and enhance our self-image or sense of Self and this includes that we need to combine the right ‘ingredients’. After all we’ve been through we know that the ‘old and tried’ doesn’t work anymore. We have to use a different approach and reinvent ourselves in the process.

Tarot card of the day is the “Wheel of Fortune” indicating that the wheel has turned and we’ve entered a new phase of the cycle. We must accept that things can always turn around; that what goes around comes around. However, in every crisis lies opportunity. It’s not a time to be complacent; instead we have to actively follow this path now and go with the flow.

Astro-Notes on November 21, 2016 – Third Quarter Moon

Daily Aspects:
– Third Quarter Moon at 29:27 Leo/Scorpio at 3:33 am EST
– Moon ingress to Virgo at 4:33 am EST
– Mars in Aquarius quincunx NN in Virgo/semi-sextile SN and Neptune in Pisces
– Sun ingress to Sagittarius at 4:22 pm EST and semi-square Jupiter in Libra
– Vesta in Leo trine Juno in Sagittarius
– Jupiter in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn

Once again, I couldn’t get around to write a Full Moon post and now I’m struggling to be able to write up something about the Last Quarter Moon. My personal belongings finally arrived as the Moon was full in sync with the symbology, which meant that I had to take care of this first since we were surrounded by over 40 plastic containers here in our small apartment space. It’s a work in progress, because I don’t have the necessary storage space in my bedroom yet and also have too much to catch up to. I’m still looking for a few pieces of furniture and at the same time did I start my job search again. This consumes a lot of my time. Thus, I’ve been pretty busy with my personal projects and my astrological pursuits have suffered as a consequence.

Therefore, it’s no coincidence that the Last Quarter Moon falls in the last degrees of the fixed signs Leo and Scorpio (for me in houses 12 and 4 – unfinished business, creative vision at cross purpose with shared values at home or in private life), urging us to get our stuff together in this regard, which I was going to do, even though I had to work all weekend. This morning though with Mars in Aquarius in sextile to my Mercury in house 4 and Mercury in Sagittarius moving into a t-square with my natal Uranus-Chiron opposition from house 4, they’ve been testing the fire alarms and sprinklers in this building, which is quite unnerving and lasted for almost an hour. So, the ‘crisis in consciousness’ that is accompanying this phase in the lunar cycle challenges us to express ourselves (Leo) in spite of limiting circumstances (square Scorpio) without being dramatic or childish (Leo), but keeping up a professional facade (Scorpio). An excellent example of this energy has been provided by the Hamilton-Pence situation.

Meanwhile, the Moon has moved on to Virgo and the Sun is about to make ingress to Sagittarius, where he will engage in a tense semi-square with Jupiter in Libra right away, which means the mood is more sober, we focus on the practical aspects of life and on getting things done as a period is about to begin, where we seek to expand our personal reach and spread our wings, find more purpose and meaning in our life, explore our world and discover ways to express ourselves as well as our personal truth and mission, while evaluating the options we have and the opportunities we encounter in a fair and objective manner. With Mars in Aquarius in adjusting aspects to the nodal axis and Neptune in Pisces, now in forward motion, we act accordingly so that we can move on from the past, instead of getting trapped in the same patterns. We are aware that we need to work on our future prospects if we want to make any progress at all. Therefore, we have to keep distractions at a minimum and dedicate us to our personal causes or the things close to our heart. Then, everything will fall into place and our outlook will be brighter.

Tarot card of the day is the “4 of Wands”, a card that deals with openings and gateways we can step through, giving us a chance to get out of an oppressive situation or escape from unhappy circumstances. This card has an uplifting, celebratory quality about it and brings people together. We’re moving from one stage to another.

Astro-Notes on November 7, 2016 – First Quarter Moon

Daily Aspects:
– Mercury in Scorpio quincunx Uranus Rx and Eris Rx in Aries
– Sun in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn
– Juno in Sagittarius semi-square Pluto in Capricorn
– Venus in Sagittarius trine Ceres Rx in Aries
– First Quarter Moon at 15:50 Aquarius/Scorpio at 2:51 pm EST

At the end of the last lunation cycle, when Mars in Capricorn squared retrograde Uranus and Eris in Aries, did I make a big life change. Mars is the ruler of my 9th house of long-distance travel and I moved across the North American continent to live with my daughter on Vancouver island. Unsurprisingly, the Scorpio New Moon one day later fell into my 3rd house of locality and close surroundings. On this day did we explore some of the beautiful natural environs here. First, we drove down to the Goldstream Provincial Park, where at the time of the New Moon a black bear jumped out of the bushes and crossed over to the other side of the stream right in front of me. I took that as a powerful omen for my new life. We proceeded from there to Thetis Lake, while making a few stops on the way to take in the breathtaking scenery and then walked around the lake. The Sabian Symbol for the Scorpio New Moon states: “A calm lake bathed in moonlight. Keynote: A quiet openness to higher inspiration – QUIESCENCE.”
(Dane Rudhyar: “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page 196)

So, this symbol took on a very personal meaning for me and I can say that I’ve been opening myself to higher inspiration since. Typical for the Scorpio influence, I’ve been spending lots of time with my daughter. My daily routine has changed completely and I’m still in a ‘transitioning’ phase – I live in a different time zone now and I work in a different job and I take everything one day at a time. This meant I had to take a break from blogging, but with Mercury in Scorpio now in quincunx aspect to retrograde Uranus and Eris in Aries as the First Quarter Moon of this cycle is forming, I felt the pressure to continue where I had left off.
The ‘crisis in action’ that is accompanying this particular phase of the cycle, challenges us in regard to how to proceed with complex and complicated undertakings, where we have to make choices for the immediate future. For instance, I had to call Google this morning, because they keep declining my credit card, even though I had changed my personal info already on Saturday. Still haven’t heard back yet.
With the Scorpio Sun sextile his dispositor Pluto in Capricorn and Juno, newly in Sagittarius, in semi-square aspect to the latter in addition to Venus in Sagittarius’ trine to retrograde Ceres in Aries we have to stand up for ourselves and get in control of our affairs or personal circumstances by reaching out and inquiring about the situation if we want to see some results. Personally, I have a few more calls to make, thereby taking the initiative into my own hands to get the support I need.

Tarot card of the day is the “7 of Wands”, suggesting that we’re coming out on top of a situation as things are going well and projects move right along. Thus, we seize the opportunity, are firm and act resolutely as we’re going after what we want. We stand our ground and show determination, even in the face of adversity. Our inner strength and tenacity give us the ability to meet all challenges head-on.
