On this day of the Aquarius New Moon, Venus in Pisces repeats the square that Mars in Pisces formed to Saturn in Sagittarius on the day of the Last Quarter Moon when we faced the ‘crisis in consciousness’. Thus, the increased limitations, responsibilities and long-term implications of the situation are now affecting this new beginning as they force us out of our comfort zone and challenge us to let go off values and priorities we cannot hold onto any longer, because they not only lost their appeal, but also threaten our sense of Wellbeing.
The tense sesqui-quadrate linking retrograde Vesta in Cancer to Neptune in Pisces marks this as a critical time in regard to unmet expectations, unfulfilled longings, unrealized visions and uncertainties that won’t go away and therefore require from us to recommit ourselves to the causes, which are sacred to us and need to be reviewed and taken care of. This in particular concerns self-nurturance and self-protection.
With the Aquarius New Moon in semi-square aspect to Saturn in Sagittarius, it’s time for reform and breakthrough in (or a break from) these long-standing matters we’ve been struggling with. We have to take up our own cause, stand up for ourselves, resist the urge to conform or grow our resistance and shake things up.
When the New Moon falls into Aquarius we can set our intentions toward unconventionality, independence, change, progress, individualization, differentiation, group participation, networking and revolution (to name a few).
Shortly after the New Moon event will Mars make ingress to Aries, where he will be traversing until March 10. This corresponds to a period when we assert our Will, fighting and competing spirit, show determination, motivation and drive, start initiatives and take action on our behalf.
The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 8:15 Aquarius states:
“A flag is seen turning into an eagle. Keynote: The dynamic incorporation of new social values in individuals who exemplify the spiritual potential and greatest significance of these values – ACTING OUT the vision.”
(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page 254)
Inspiration takes flight as we give ‘birth’ to desires and intentions we’ve been holding in or back. They are now acting as a catalyst, pushing us and daring us to stretch our limits and reach higher so that we can renew ourselves and our life.
Tarot card of the day is the “7 of Wands”, suggesting that we’re coming out on top of a situation as things are going well and projects move right along. Thus, we seize the opportunity, are firm and act resolutely as we’re going after what we want. We stand our ground and show determination, even in the face of adversity. Our inner strength and tenacity give us the ability to meet all challenges head-on.
