Early in the morning yesterday did Mercury in Aries set off the Uranus-Eris conjunction before he moved into a semi-sextile with Chiron in Pisces. This could have caused quite a storm (inner as well as outer) out of which rose new inspiration to address our self-interests and initiate change or progress in a matter that caused us considerable headaches, because of its controversial and contentious nature, which could have left us at discord. Therefore, it’s time to focus on closure, on soothing our wounds and resolving this issue. We’ve been struggling long enough and as a consequence, anger has been building up, motivating us to take action on our behalf.
Mercury’s dispositor, Mars in Taurus, is also the ruler over the Aries New Moon and is holding a sextile to Neptune in Pisces and a sesqui-quadrate to Saturn in Sagittarius. Thus, during this cycle we have a chance to get into the flow of things and see something to its end if we keep pursuing this matter with persuasiveness, even stubborn insistence, whereby it is necessary that we increase our sense of structure or grow a backbone. When the lunation is in Aries, the time has come to set intentions toward courageous and self-determined action, initiative and assertion of our will. Retrograde Venus in Aries, who is Mars’ dispositor and is also holding a mutual reception with him, is approaching a quincunx to the North Node in Virgo and a semi-square to Ceres in Taurus, asking us to review our priorities or preferences and adjust them accordingly in order to improve our future prospects and build up the support or get the care we need so that we can feel safe and secure again.
However, we’re not acting on impulse or try to push our agenda, but go with an approach that resonates with us, has personal appeal to us and feels right. With Mercury in Aries entering his shadow period today, things we’re scheduling and discussing now as well as matters of connectivity and mobility will come up for re-evaluation in the next few weeks. The Jupiter – Pluto square in the background challenges us to get a grip on our circumstances, in particular what matters beyond our control concerns and get our affairs in order, so that we can re-arrange and re-assess our options.
The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 7:37 Aries states:
“A large woman’s hat with streamers blown by an east wind. Keynote: Protection and spiritual guidance in the development of consciousness – PROTECTIVE FORMS and SENSITIVITY.”

Tarot card of the day is the “Hanged Man”, demanding from us to let go and surrender to the experience, end the struggle, accept what is and hang in there for now. We are in an in-between state and also at a cross-roads, where decisions are postponed, even though there’s a sense of urgency to act. Therefore, we may simply just want to wait for better opportunities. There is a chance that we could see a situation from a new angle and consequently, overturn our priorities or upend the old order. This card also represents someone who has chosen the path of sacrifice and forsaken instant gratification in order to accomplish a higher goal.
