Astro-Notes on June 27, 2017

Daily Aspects:
– Sun in Cancer semi-square Vesta in Leo
– Mercury in Cancer square Jupiter in Libra and trine Neptune Rx in Pisces
– Moon ingress to Virgo at 5:41 pm PDT

The Cancer New Moon happened on the 23, but I was too busy and too distracted by other things to be able to write a blog post about it – Mercury in Cancer was engaged in a semi-square aspect to Vesta in Leo. For me this meant family time was on the agenda (Mercury in Cancer), because we both, my daughter and I, were off for 3 days in a row and enjoyed ourselves (Vesta in Leo) exploring the island, where we made our home. Today, the Cancer Sun, following on Mercury’s heels, repeats this aspect and the time has come for me to dedicate myself to my creative projects (Vesta in Leo) and take care of plans and appointments I made recently.

Meanwhile, Mercury has moved into a square to Jupiter in Libra and a trine to retrograde Neptune in Pisces, while catching up to Mars in Cancer, who opposed retrograde Juno in Capricorn at the time of the New Moon – an aspect that was repeated yesterday by Mercury. So, after we’ve reviewed the relationship situations we’ve established and how they support our intentions and even survival, we were confronted by the need for action, which led to a course change that has been long overdue. This, however, doesn’t come without challenges, some of which we’ve discussed yesterday with others on whom we can count for their support. Moreover, options we thought we had based on our subjective evaluation of the matter might not be realizable at this time.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 2:47 Cancer states:

“A man bundled in fur leads a shaggy deer. Keynote: The need to overcome stagnation and ‘cold’ during trial of endurance – A TESTING OF THE WILL.”

Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 111-112)

At this point, we can say that we’re aware of the struggles that lie ahead and know what to expect along the road. Therefore, we have to keep focused on our intentions, while ‘nurturing’ our plans, fostering connectivity and communication and ‘feed’ our motivation and drive. Pallas’ ingress to Taurus yesterday, where she will be traversing until November 16 before heading back to Aries on her retrograde journey, corresponds to a period when our approach is more consistent as well as repetitive and persistent. With Ceres in Gemini approaching a sextile to the North Node in Leo, we have a chance to commit us to our future projects in a more flexible and adaptable manner, because we changed a past pattern that was counter-productive to that.

Tarot card of the day is the “Queen of Wands”, suggesting that we’re renewing ourselves as we’re summoning our creative energy and approach our life’s situations energetically and confident. We are not afraid of challenges and use our tremendous energy constructively as well as within the scope of our capabilities, which means we’re equipped to be successful and to effectively multi-task.

Astro-Notes on June 20, 2017 – Summer Solstice

Reaching its northernmost point from the equator, the Sun’s ingress to Cancer at 9:24 pm PDT tonight marks the summer solstice and the beginning of summer. Consequently, here in the Northern Hemisphere, we experience the longest day, whereas for the Southern Hemisphere it is the longest night and the start of winter. In temperate regions, we notice that the Sun is higher in the sky throughout the day, and its rays strike Earth at a more direct angle, causing the efficient warming we call summer. As the Sun seems to ‘stand still’ (sol sistere) high in the sky, we transition into ‘stasis’ and have a chance to pause, stop and take stock before fully committing ourselves to the new season. Individual development is at peak. There is liveliness and vibrancy as well as a re-gathering and refocusing of intent.

A time of Self-nurturance and Self-growth, of sustaining our sense of Self and supporting our center as well as taking care of our Self-realization, is beginning now and we’re setting our intentions accordingly. It’s a critical time destiny-wise, because we need to turn a corner in regard to a long-standing problem that has been preventing us from moving forward and making progress. This led to the realization that we can’t and won’t continue walking down the same road, but have to do things differently so that we can truly start over. Challenged by these unbalanced perspectives and options, we have to review our relationship dynamics and decide if they work for us or limit and restrict us. Therefore, it’s up to us to set boundaries and even end one-sided relationships so that we can concentrate on our future prospects, instead of putting them to the side. For this purpose, which will be the main objective of the new season, we need to foster motivation and drive together with the necessary self-determination that will inspire us to break out of past patterns that have been holding us back from creating the life we want for ourselves.

Tarot card of the day is the “9 of Wands”, suggesting that we’ll be seeing something through to the end and will persist against the odds or despite of setbacks. There might be a last test or challenge before we can reach success, but as long as we don’t give up, we will achieve our goals. Therefore, it is important that we show stamina and keep our resolve. We will eventually prosper if we maintain our position with patience and vigilance.

Astro-Notes on June 17, 2017 – Third Quarter Moon in Pisces

Daily Aspects:
– Third Quarter Moon at 26:27 Pisces/Gemini at 4:32 am PDT
– Moon ingress to Aries at 10:54 am PDT
– Pallas conjunct Uranus in Aries

Prior to the waning Pisces’ Moon square to the Gemini Sun that marks the Last Quarter Phase of the Gemini lunation cycle, did her ruler Neptune station retrograde at 14:15 Pisces. Neptune is a very slow traveler, who will trace back his steps to 11:27 Pisces (he first covered this territory starting on April 28, 2016) over the course of the next 5 months, where he will turn direct on November 23.

The Sun’s ruler Mercury formed a conjunction to Ceres, whereas the Sun himself is engaged in harmonious aspects with the nodal axis in Leo (sextile NN) and Aquarius (trine SN). Thus, as we entered a period during which we will review our dreams, ideals, expectations, projections and vision, especially in regard to what we had imagined or hoped and longed for since the end of April of last year, we’re undergoing a ‘crisis in consciousness or perception’ that challenges us to not get overwhelmed by all the unknown factors we’re encountering and the impressions we’re experiencing, but to overcome our confusion or cluelessness, while focusing on our immediate environment and the info we get ‘fed’ from there. This will inspire us to let go off the past and concentrate on the future we want to create. It’s time to move on from a situation that has outlived its purpose by initiating change and progress.

Personally, I’m still recovering from surgery and will be off work until the end of the month.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Swords”, which indicates a slight reduction in stress and strain. Things will be better than they were in the recent past, all of which is helpful to get our head above water. The bottom has been reached and the process of healing has begun. There is finality in this journey. The future is not yet visible, but the past is definitely over. We’re moving away from turbulence toward calmer times and will need to make a transition that is better for us in the long-term.

Astro-Notes on June 9, 2017 – Full Moon in Sagittarius

Daily Aspects:
– Sun in Gemini quincunx Pluto Rx in Capricorn
– Full Moon at 18:53 Sagittarius/Gemini at 6:09 am PDT
– Jupiter stations direct at 13:12 Libra at 7:02 am PDT (rx since Feb 7 – new territory on Sep 7)
– Venus in Taurus sextile Mars in Cancer
– Vesta in Leo sextile stationary Jupiter in Libra and sesqui-quadrate Chiron in Pisces
– Pallas in Aries trine Saturn Rx in Sagittarius

As the Gemini lunation cycle culminates in the Sagittarius Full Moon with both luminaries in adjusting aspects to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, the impulse that sounded forth at the time of the Sagittarius New Moon at the end of November of last year also comes to fruition. Moreover, Jupiter, the ruler over the sign Sagittarius and thus over the Full Moon, who has been in retrograde motion since February 7, stations direct in Libra in sextile aspect to Vesta in Leo.

Consequently, after we reviewed and re-assessed our social and relationship options for the last 4 months, it is time to balance them where needed together with the principles and viewpoints (or ‘truths’) these were based on and to evaluate opportunities with a more balanced perspective that is fair and just to ourselves in these settings so that we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot (Vesta is also sesqui-quadrate Chiron) or create unnecessary problems and hardships for ourselves, while wasting our energy on causes that bring us no return. We should only compromise when it’s beneficial for both parties involved and we also don’t need to feel guilty when we don’t meet others’ one-sided or unbalanced expectations. This requires from us to take matters into our own hands and to be willing to utilize our power and resources to change our life the way we want to live it. Moreover, it is critical in this regard that we concentrate on and dedicate us toward ourselves and our personal fulfillment.

Sag FM 2017

With Venus in sextile to Mars, tending to our intentions and acting in accordance with our own values will support our needs, talents and sense of self-worth. A trine from Pallas to retrograde Saturn shows that we don’t need to struggle any longer in a situation that has burdened us for a long time – our fight has come to end, because our direct approach of these conditions has helped us to reach our goal. Therefore, looking at what was seeded at the beginning of these cycles and is now ‘flowering’ in the symbolical language of the Sabians – ‘the revolutionary magazine asking for action’ (Sabian Symbol for the Gemini New Moon) has resulted in the ‘discovery of a new way of living and more wholesome surroundings’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius Full Moon), which is the outcome from the ‘psychic gestation’ (keyword for the Sabian Symbol for the Sagittarius New Moon from November of last year) period we underwent that has led us to a ‘traditional wisdom’, something we’ve known all along – if conditions in our environment don’t support our ‘growth’ we have to move on from there and in typical Sagittarian fashion look to ‘where the grass is greener’.

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 18:53 Sagittarius states:

“Pelicans menaced by the behaviour and refuse of men seek safer areas for bringing up their youth. Keynote: The need for people concerned with the future to discover a new way of living and more wholesome surroundings – SURVIVAL.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 18:53 Gemini states:

“A large archaic volume reveals a traditional wisdom. Keynote: Contacting the all-human planetary Mind underlying any cultural and personal mentality – SEED KNOWLEDGE.”

Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 221 and 102, respectively)

Tarot card of the day is the “Queen of Pentacles”, representing an aspect of ourselves or others that is concerned about economic security and the promotion of physical wellbeing. We’re not only tending for ourselves, but also for our possessions. This involves being practical and capable in business affairs, in particular what effective management concerns, where we need to employ down-to-earth common sense and help things to flourish. Putting duty first, we use our resourcefulness to provide stability, to safeguard and to preserve.

Astro-Notes on June 1, 2017 – First Quarter Moon in Virgo

Daily Aspects:
– Ceres in Gemini trine Jupiter Rx in Libra
– Uranus in Aries trine North Node in Leo/sextile South Node in Aquarius
– First Quarter Moon at 11:12 Virgo/Gemini at 5:42 am PDT
– Venus in Aries trine Saturn Rx in Sagittarius
– Vesta in Leo sesqui-quadrate Saturn Rx in Sagittarius

The month of June starts out with the waxing Moon reaching her First Quarter phase in the Gemini lunation cycle, a stage, which has been termed a ‘crisis in action’. Since this transpires in sync with Mercury’s (who rules both – the Sun and the Moon) trine to Pluto, Ceres’ trine to Jupiter, Mars’ trine to the South Node, Uranus’ trine to the North Node and Venus’ trine to Saturn, we can readily recognize that a story has come to an end, that we made progress and that a lesson has been learnt. We’re finally ready to move on from the past and to reinvent ourselves or change our life, because we reconsidered and responded differently than we used to, thereby realizing that this is the result of a mental re-wiring or reprogramming we’ve been undergoing that brought us to a point, where we don’t see things in a black-and-white mentality anymore, but understand that we have more options and by including these – at least as a temporary solution or step – we assist our own growth and personal development. Besides, we can always change our mind again or choose a different path.

However, at this time we’re having lots on our plate and perhaps several ‘irons in the fire’, which means we have to roll up our sleeves, start multi-tasking, rank our tasks by priority and importance and then figure out the details. We might have spread ourselves too thin, are too busy or too scattered and therefore not prepared or not able to function properly. A tense sesqui-quadrate from Vesta to Saturn demands commitment, focus and self-discipline from us. The planets are heading into a challenging aspect pattern toward the end of this day and tomorrow, which will add the necessary impetus to get us in the ‘game’ and play our part.

Tarot card of the day is “Temperance”, suggesting a need for emotional stability, which can be achieved through moderation and a commitment to sobriety. We need to find middle ground, avoid excess, foster cooperation, cleanse our body and mind, heal ourselves and recognize the flow in our life. As we observe the nature of energy, we learn how to mix the right ingredients in our own life to maintain equilibrium and see all imbalances drifting away. Instead of sweeping changes subtle shifts need to take place. With renewed energy and vigor comes the promise of new growth.
