Astro-Notes on November 11, 2017 – Third Quarter Moon in Leo

Daily Aspects:
– Mercury in Sagittarius semi-sextile Jupiter in Scorpio
– Third Quarter Moon at 18:38 Leo/Scorpio at 12:36 pm PST (November 10)
– Saturn in Sagittarius trine Uranus Rx in Aries
– Mars in Libra quincunx Neptune Rx in Pisces
– Juno conjunct Pluto in Capricorn

In sync with yesterday’s Third Quarter Moon energies I wasn’t able to post a blog entry about this event.
This stage in the lunation cycle is termed the ‘crisis in consciousness or perception’, because it is the last quarter square and quite significant in regard to our current activities, which need to be seen in the broadest perspective now. So, what has been planted or started at the time of the Libra New Moon (beginning of this cycle) 3 weeks ago and reached a climax with the Taurus Full Moon (one week ago) challenges us now to put things into perspective.

In this case, it is the waning Leo Moon’s square to the Scorpio Sun that is testing our resilience and resourcefulness (Scorpio) now that life has gotten more complicated (Sun in Scorpio) and this could have seen us struggling with matters of personal creativity, self-expression, performance and recognition (Leo).

Saturn’s trine to Uranus marks the end of an extended period or process, during which we have been trying to reform long-standing conditions and make progress on several fronts and now that we’re finally seeing a result or a change, we’re also experiencing an increased sense of structure or limitation that comes with more authority or responsibility or obligations (Saturn) and therefore also alters our daily routine as we have less time or freedom or liberties (Uranus).

A quincunx from Mars in Libra, Uranus’s dispositor, together with a semi-sextile from Mercury to Jupiter, indicate that we have to adjust our actions, intentions, plans and schedules accordingly and this might even require certain sacrifices (Neptune) if we cannot juggle or coordinate our activities (Mars in Libra) or if we lack the necessary energy (Mars). In any case, our options are rather complex in the sense that they aren’t so ‘obvious’ or ‘simple’ with Jupiter in Scorpio, which means we have to be ‘ruthless’, obsessive, passionate and resourceful about these matters. Moreover, the Scorpio Sun is squaring the nodal axis and his ruler Pluto is meeting Juno in Capricorn in conjunction.

Thus, we reached a turning point destiny-wise, where we have to overcome the drawback from the past in order to be able to create the life or future we want for us by breaking with old patterns, which are self-sabotaging and detrimental to our self-development now that things are coming together for us and we feel more empowered in our role and interactions with others as well as in charge or control of our affairs and circumstances.

So, the story that has unfolded for me personally during this particular cycle is as follows: For several months now I have been applying and interviewing for different office jobs and with the Libra New Moon I had another interview about which I felt really positive. On the day of the Taurus Full Moon I got a job offer from this company, which I accepted. I started working there the following week, but I still have to get used to that new routine and the long commute. Therefore, I wasn’t able to prepare a blog post in time or to continue with my dailies on Facebook. However, this forces me to come up with some changes, which are long overdue. 🙂

These are the Tarot cards for the last couple of days (yesterday and today):

Tarot card of the day is the “Page of Cups”, representing some sort of beginning or renewal, which could herald a positive message we respond to in an emotional manner. Our intuition is sharp today and creative energy is trying to burst forth into our consciousness. Therefore, we need to be open to receive, express our emotions and let our heart lead the way. This card encourages us to take a fresh perspective on a difficult issue and to allow our creative Self to come to the fore so that a sense of freedom may reappear in our life.

Tarot card of the day is the “Hanged Man”, demanding from us to let go and surrender to the experience, end the struggle, accept what is and hang in there for now. We are in an in-between state and also at a cross-roads, where decisions are postponed, even though there’s a sense of urgency to act. Therefore, we may simply just want to wait for better opportunities. There is a chance that we could see a situation from a new angle and consequently, overturn our priorities or upend the old order. This card also represents someone who has chosen the path of sacrifice and forsaken instant gratification in order to accomplish a higher goal.

Astro-Notes on November 3, 2017 – Full Moon in Taurus

Daily Aspects:
– Saturn in Sagittarius square Chiron Rx in Pisces
– Venus in Libra qx Chiron Rx in Pisces, sextile Saturn in Sagittarius and opposite Uranus Rx in Aries
– Moon ingress to Taurus at 2:46 am PDT
– Sun in Scorpio trine Neptune Rx in Pisces
– Full Moon at 11:58 Taurus/Scorpio at 10:22 pm PDT

This Full Moon highlights the axis of desire and matters pertaining to personal values and resources versus shared values and resources, emotional security versus social security and attachments versus surrender are coming to a head.

Venus, the ruler over the Taurus Full Moon, activates the Saturn-Chiron square with dynamic aspects and then opposes Uranus, indicating that we’re presented with an opportunity to gain more stability, control or structure in a situation that has left us wanting, ‘hurting’ and struggling for a long time.
Finally, there’s a breakthrough, but it could cause us some inner turmoil, because we might feel conflicted about making a choice if we have to go back and forth over the issue. Consequently, we might be wavering and vacillating, uncertain how to proceed, especially if the terms don’t agree with us or if our values aren’t met and we would have to settle for less.

Therefore, the change or commitment is also a compromise. It might even require from us to take sides or switch parties or affiliations. We could really feel divided about it all. However, with the Scorpio Sun in trine to Neptune, we have to realize that nothing is permanent. Things change all the time; nothing lasts forever. In the end it is our life and we don’t owe our loyalty or have to justify our choices to anyone. We are free to make choices or changes anytime if the conditions don’t suit us any longer or if better options come our way. That’s the power we have.

As the Libra lunation cycle culminates in the Taurus Full Moon, the impulse that sounded forth at the time of the Taurus New Moon back on April 26 will also come to fruition. In the symbolical language of the Sabians the story unfolds like this: ‘The airplane flying high in the sky’ (Sabian Symbol for Libra New Moon) is replaced by ‘a window-shopping young couple’ (Sabian Symbol for the Taurus Full Moon) – what was at the beginning far out of our reach is now within our grasp. ‘The woman of Samaria at the ancestral well’ (Sabian Symbol for the Taurus NM of April 26), the social outcast is now ‘attending an official embassy ball’ (Sabian Symbol for the Scorpio Sun) or in other words – invited to participate in the cultural interchanges on a ‘higher level’.

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 11:58 Taurus states:

“A young couple window-shopping. Keynote: The fascination of the youthful ego with the products of its culture – SOCIALIZATION OF DESIRES.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 11:58 Scorpio states:

“An official embassy ball. Keynote: Group consciousness as it flowers at the highest level in cultural interchanges between representatives of the elite of the ruling class – ritualized DISPLAY of power, prestige and wealth.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 78 and 198-199, respectively)

Suggested by these statements is that our wishes or longings can come true if we accept the ‘offering’. We’ve been granted ‘entrance’ to the ‘larger halls of society’ and it’s up to us to make the best of it.

Taurus FM 2017

Tarot card of the day is “Death”, marking an ending and the completion of a chapter or the concluding of unfinished business. We have a chance to put the past behind us as we’re going through that which cannot be avoided, while accepting the inevitable and riding our fate. It symbolises the death of a situation in our lives. Death comes in many shapes and forms and throughout our life we go through many little deaths. Every transition involves a death before the rebirth process.
