Astro-Notes on May 12, 2013 – feeling impoverished

A semi-sextile between Mercury in Taurus and Eris in Aries shows that we have to deal with the issue of competition, even

with poor or selfish attitudes, and therefore need to adjust our mentality accordingly. With Ceres in Cancer in trine aspect to Chiron in Pisces, we not only celebrate Mother’s Day, when we are reminded of the nurturing and supporting qualities the maternal principle provides, but also reached a point in our development, where we can find it within us to empathize with the human condition and contribute to healing by bridging difficult situations with caring and compassion.

Tarot card of the day is the “5 of Pentacles”, which comes with the message ‘it is darkest before dawn’. As we’re experiencing a time of hardship, of feeling less than secure, left out and impoverished – either material or spiritual – we need to understand that there is hope of better days ahead. We’re on a pilgrimage or a long journey, which can be taken as an act of faith or devotion and all we need is to find the inner fortitude to persist in our quest and bolster ourselves, while resisting the temptation to succumb to spiritual poverty. No matter how bleak or destitute the situation seems to us, we have to maintain our faith and don’t give up. It is time to move on and to let us be guided by our soul’s light or inner shining star.

Astro-Notes on May 10, 2013 – a new dawn

A new sub-cycle begins with the perfection of the Sun-Pallas conjunction in Taurus, during which we pursue a strategy aimed

at cultivating the lifestyle we want and crave, while building up practical, earthy, crafty skills or relying on ‘Earth wisdom’. One of my friends, per example, is becoming a beekeeper – she helped the man, from whom she’s learning the ‘art and science’ to separate the hives yesterday – another one has begun planting trees and learnt to build protective ‘cages’ around them. Thus, politics or tactics we used for the purpose of self-realization come to fruition. A semi-sextile from Mercury in Taurus to Jupiter in Gemini shows an adjustment of plans and schedules to a new direction or possibility based on these latest news. For instance, Bangladesh rescuers found a woman alive under the rubble of the collapsed factory after 17 days. Consequently, after the Moon’s ingress to Gemini at 5:20 pm EDT will we feel more social, bubbly and chatty.

Tarot card of the day is the “Page of Wands”, suggesting news related to business or otherwise and a positive awareness of the future, especially in regard to what the eclipse revealed, or ‘to expect the unexpected’. There are new possibilities, which demand from us to be courageous and daring as we rediscover purpose. This card represents ‘a new dawn’ that is a new beginning of a phase in which the creative spark must be developed and given a new lease on life, calling upon us to express ourselves from our heart. It’s a day to be positive and spontaneous as well as lively and energetic, when we should pursue our creative vision with enthusiasm.

Astro-Notes on January 1, 2013 – New Year’s Day

The New Year began with Mercury in Capricorn moving into sextile aspect to Neptune in Pisces, which suggests

that opportunities to work on the realization of long-held dreams and visions will be provided throughout this year and also that there’s a good chance that we eventually succeed with our plans and achieve these ends. Today, ideas will already become more tangible and also take form in some way as we apply concrete steps toward meeting these ideals and expectations, even though we might still need time for reflection. With the Saturn-Pluto sextile and mutual reception in the background, the stage has been set for systematic overhauls, gradual evolving and restructuring efforts. After the Moon’s ingress to Virgo at 12:34 pm EST will we feel more inclined to roll up our sleeves, clean up and create order or go on with our routines.

Tarot card of the day is “Judgment”, suggesting that we’re having a day of reckoning, when we can find absolution or are heeding a call. Therefore, it’s important that we use good judgment, release all sorrows and lift ourselves up. We might have experienced an epiphany that opens ourselves up to a new possibility, which is like an awakening to new life that can lead to renewal and change.

Personal Note: I made a couple of phone calls this morning to wish my mom and ex-mother-in-law a happy and healthy New Year. They would have kept me on the phone forever if there weren’t those time limitations that remind us to keep things short and simple. Everybody is going through struggles of one kind or another. Meanwhile, mail came in from my daughter, wishing me all the best and letting me know that they had to put their sick dog to sleep yesterday. I had a ‘feeling’ about this since I hadn’t heard from her (not to mention what the transits of their charts reveal). She apologized for not being able to talk, because it’s too hard for her (the Lunar Eclipse was in quincunx aspect to her natal Pluto-SN conjunction in Scorpio), but I wrote her not to worry as I completely understand and feel with her. Please send her some healing, loving vibes. Later this morning I also connected with my girlfriend and we talked about our business plans. We too could go on forever. So, it was pretty convenient that she had other plans as well. Happy New Year to all of you!

Astro-Notes on September 23, 2012 – higher visions of the Self

A quincunx from the Sun in Libra to retrograde Neptune in Pisces we’ve felt already yesterday indicates that

we’re adjusting our personal style and social performance to meet certain expectations and higher ideals we have ‘glamorized’ and which allow us to make an impact or to create a vision of unity and solidarity. Thus, our wish to shine and be recognized requires that we step out of ‘obscurity’ or ‘invisibility’ and in some cases, end our self-undoing, to attune ourselves to the ‘whole of existence’.

Tarot card of the day is the “King of Swords”, symbolizing a decision-maker, who lives by clear logic and fact, justice and fairness, has a sharp mind, high intellect and expands on inner wisdom. He is impartial, puts emotions aside, makes informed decisions and applies mind over matter. It’s a day when we can filter thoughts and imagination into cohesive ideas and projects.

In the news: The famous Oktoberfest kicked off in Munich, Germany and tonight’s Emmy Awards Show will pick the winners, who will take home the gold/trophies. Another headline reads that the GOP urges presidential candidate Mitt Romney to get back on track.

Astro-Notes on June 7, 2012 – things are coming together

Mercury made ingress to Cancer at 7:15 am EDT (funny enough I got up at that time and all I can think of is the beach), where he will traverse until June 25, which corresponds to a period when we nurture communication and connections, support ideas and plans and foster education, adaptation, flexibility and mobility. After the Moon’s ingress to Aquarius at 10:16 am EDT, will we feel restless and excited, our feelings change and we could experience an inner stirring or some kind of stimulation. A trine between Pallas in Aries and the North Node in Sagittarius (sextile South Node in Gemini) indicates that our personal politics succeeded and as a result, we end a struggle we’ve been fighting for quite some time that concerned our life’s direction and long-term future prospects by taking advantage of past records and connections. Ceres in Taurus’ tense sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn demands that we resist temptations toward indulgence. It is critical that we manage limiting circumstances with resourcefulness and from a position of inner strength, which requires that we sustain the growth and support system we’ve built up. With the Sun in Gemini squaring Mars in Virgo, we have to take action toward Self-improvement and effectively work on our plans for Self-realization instead of scattering our energies.

Tarot card of the day is “The World”, signifying the end of a cycle, the final and successful completion of any issue at hand. We have arrived at our destination or have reached the culmination of a long series of events. There is a dawning realization and understanding of where we are at. This card comes with the message: I’m co-creator of my world and all I wish for I can have. The more important is it to be aware of the axiom ‘what goes around comes around’.

Personal Note: I just got a call from my manager for a shift change tomorrow, which gives me 3 more hours for this week for which I am very appreciative in this challenging situation. Once again, I can rely on my support system. 🙂

Astro-Notes on June 6, 2012 – transitioning

A quincunx between Ceres in Taurus and retrograde Saturn in Libra together with a semi-sextile between

the Sun in Gemini and Vesta in Taurus and another semi-sextile between Mercury in Gemini and Jupiter in Taurus indicate an adjustment concerning things and causes we usually and regularly support toward unresolved social and relationship situations in order to be able to restore control, which requires that we invest our energy in worthy causes and focus on the pursuit of growth and prosperity.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Swords”, which indicates a slight reduction in stress and strain. Things will be better than they were in the recent past. There is the possibility of travel or of a changing scenery – literally or figuratively, all of which is helpful to get our head above water. The bottom has been reached and the process of healing has begun. A sense of finality is felt on this journey. The future is not yet visible, but the past is definitely over. We’re moving away from turbulence toward calmer times and will need to make a transition that is better for us in the long-term.

In news  that seem to me personally inconceivable, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) survived a furious campaign seeking his recall, emerging as the victor in a bitter fight over state budgets and collective bargaining rights (6 of Swords).  However, I can definitely see the connection to 6-6 here. Big money won this round (the Taurus energies complementing the Gemini energies or votes). Apparently, the reductions haven’t affected too many people in this country yet. The ones who cannot look farther than to their own door step might get their awakening once the series of Uranus-Pluto squares will hit ‘home’.

2 Vancouver schools received packages containing body parts. This might be connected to the killing and dismemberment of a Chinese student by a porn star, who is also suspected to have eaten of the body (Taurus-Gemini connection). The good news is that he’s being arrested and awaiting extradition (6 of Swords).  – These are 2 great examples of how twisted our world is.

Personal Note: With Venus passing over the Sun yesterday, it’s been a talkative day for me. In the morning I chatted with my girlfriend on Skype and in the late afternoon I got a call from a male friend, who needed to talk and inquired about this phenomenon, while I had begun to write letters to my old aunt and my mom. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the spectacle in the sky, because it was too cloudy. After that my neighbor knocked on my door to apologize for all the troubles I’ve experienced lately because of him and he just kept talking and talking and also inquiring about the Venus transit. Meanwhile, the pot of tea I had brewed was cold and I had tired. So, I couldn’t focus on any texts anymore. Since this was a seed moment, I wonder if these were ‘signs’ of times to come?

Astro-Notes on June 5, 2012 – emotional renewal

A quincunx from Mercury in Gemini to retrograde Juno in Scorpio requires an adjustment of our plans and schedule to a recurring relationship situation that involves complicated power dynamics. After the Moon’s ingress to Capricorn at 8:30 am EDT will things get more serious and we down to business, preparing us for a day of hard work and putting our nose to the grindstone. Retrograde Venus in Gemini’s semi-sextile to Vesta in Taurus demands that we sustain the energy and dedication we’ve built up, which necessitates a reviewing of our priorities. Venus follows up with an inferior conjunction to the Sun, while the shadow of her transit will move as a dark spot over the ‘face’ of the Sun. This is a rare phenomenon that happens in pairs 8 years apart (the last one was in June 2004) approximately every 105.5 and 121.5 years (repeated in this sequence with the 8 year interval in between). Equivalent to the New Moon phase of the lunation cycle, the inferior conjunction of the Sun and Venus correlates to a renewal and reorientation of our feelings, emotions, values, attachments and love principle, whereby the future attempts to free itself from the past, clearing the way for the development of a new set of values and new emotional experiences and responses, especially what our needs and desire nature concerns. Thus, a new cycle of personal fulfillment, ego satisfaction and self-love begins, during which we learn to express several aspects of our personality together with a variety of wants and needs, all the while showing more flexibility, versatility and adaptability. With Ceres in Taurus forming a semi-square to Uranus in Aries, we are urged to support and nurture those new trends instead of resisting necessary change. Therefore, we have to commit us to progress.

Tarot card of the day is “The Chariot”, a card that comes with the message to take control and move forward with care. There is a need to remain focused and to keep the emotions in check. We could feel being pulled in 2 different directions. Self-discipline is essential in order for us to be able to steer successfully through the day and to balance the light and shadow aspects of our personality. It is moreover important that we harness our energy and apply it wisely.
