Venus will ingress Capricorn on December 25th at 01:17 pm EST, anchoring our feelings and needs to the material plane and bringing a sense of reality to our value system. The Sun in Capricorn’s square to Saturn in Libra together with his sesqui-quadrate to Mars Rx in Leo are indicative of tensions as the result of relationship obligations and other duties or rules we may have to comply with and which restrict our natural self-expression as well as our personal authority in some way.
A trine from Juno in Aries to Ceres in Sagittarius on December 26th could see us rushing to the occasion in the spirit of celebration and with the intention of scoring big. However, Mercury will station retrograde at 21:47:43 Capricorn at 09:38:06 am EST, which corresponds to a period of introspection and REworking schedules, REorganizing, REvising, REthinking, REconsidering, REwriting, REdoing etc. Therefore, despite all the excitement and high energy, take your time to be able to slow down comfortably when the Moon will ingress Taurus at 03:26 pm EST. Mercury will station direct on January 16, 2010 at 05:33:37 Capricorn – the shadow period however lasts from December 09, 2009 – February 04, 2010.
On December 27th could we have to take up the initiative regarding relationship commitments we made, implied by a semi-square between Mars Rx in Leo and Saturn in Libra. As the Sun in Capricorn will also cast a sextile to Pallas in Scorpio and a trine to Vesta in Virgo, while Venus in Capricorn will square Juno in Aries and semi-sextile Ceres in Sagittarius, this could be an opportunity for a nice, traditional get-together, even though we may have to budge a bit and make room for compromises. It might be well worth it in the end.
Consequently, our worth could have been substantiated and the necessary resources supplied for restructuring purposes, as Venus moves into conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn, who also receives a semi-sextile from Ceres in Sagittarius and a square from Juno in Aries on December 28th. Thus, we may no longer delay our plans and start with the activities right away; laying down a schedule, calculating the details and then begin to reorganize our routines and spaces, suggested by the dynamic aspects from Mercury Rx in Capricorn and Pallas in Scorpio to Vesta in Virgo. The Moon’s Gemini ingress at 08:13 pm EST sets the mood toward flexibility and busyness. Venus in Capricorn follows up with a sesqui-quadrate to Mars Rx in Leo that demands to match our creative intentions to the reality of the situation.
Mercury Rx’s conjunction with the North Node in Capricorn on December 29th indicates that we may now perceive our future prospects in this context in a feasible manner. However, this may cause disagreements with others involved and may even lead to strife as there seems to be no way to reach common ground on specific proposals, implied by Venus in Capricorn’s square to Saturn in Libra, the Sun in Capricorn’s semi-square to Chiron in Aquarius and Mercury Rx in Capricorn’s square to Eris Rx in Aries. We may just want to leave the whole project alone and call it a day.
If we don’t let our pride get in the way of our intentions and can come along, dedicating us fully to the task at hand, we could make some head way on December 30th, when Mars Rx in Leo will sesqui-quadrate Juno in Aries and Venus in Capricorn trine Vesta in Virgo. After the Moon’s Cancer ingress at 09:45 pm EST could we feel the need to pamper ourselves and enjoy some well-deserved rest. The Sun in Capricorn will semi-square Neptune in Aquarius in addition to Chiron in Aquarius’ semi-sextile to Uranus in Pisces, which could make us pretty vulnerable to all kinds of stress, especially what certain subtle undertows in our surroundings concerns.
Appropriately for all the Capricornian energies around, especially the Mercury retrograde in this sign, I’ve spent plenty of time on my new computer and also wallowing in memories about times and moments long gone. The file downloads and upgrades were pretty easy to handle and quick to process with all the improved technology to my disposal. J’s been busy formatting his computer too (formerly mine). Although I connected with my friends on the public networks I join, I felt lonely. Therefore I skyped with Carola in Germany as soon as she was available in hourlong video-sessions. Before I moved over here to Canada I’ve never thought that I would miss my country of birth and circle of friends from those past times so much. My life has always been moving fast and I’ve never before been without friends or acquaintances or a social circle. That was as long as my Sun progressed through Sagittarius and the wanderlust kept me exploring, searching and looking for adventures. Once the Sun progressed into Capricorn I learnt to settle down, to mature up and to ground myself in reality. This ‘reality’ however wasn’t fulfilling in any way. Instead it weighed down on me and felt oppressive, while it isolated me like a hermit from the rest of civilization, especially after we had purchased property in a rural area. But this experience is of course part of my life’s lessons, which have been slowly and gradually transforming me in a different person. The next step on my journey is to build a lasting foundation for my personality and I’m working on it in earnest now. I also realized that I have responsibilities and not only toward myself, but also to the people in my ‘support system’.
On the 27th we went to visit J’s mom, where we also met with my daughter and partner. Lots of gifts changed hands. Everybody had fun and the atmosphere was truly in the spirit of the season. It’s just too bad that we have to drive 3 hours one way to get there (and back). Usually, we’re very exhausted when we come home. The pizzeria in town was open. So, we’ve ordered a nice pizza and rented a movie to round up the day. With Mercury rx J had to cancel plans he had made for the next couple of days, because we got real winter weather with loads of snow. Well, one could say I canceled a few of my plans as well as I was skyping instead of working on my astro stuff. I even forgot to go to the post office a last time before the New Year. However, I also strengthened my networking connections and took more time to relax.
A happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you all!
