Astro-Notes on June 9, 2015 – Third Quarter Moon

Daily aspects:
– Mars in Gemini sextile Uranus in Aries
– Juno in Leo semi-square NN in Libra/sesqui SN in Aries
– Third Quarter Moon at 18:29 Pisces/Gemini at 11:41 am EDT
– Pallas Rx in Sagittarius square Chiron in Pisces

The shifts we experienced over the last few days when Ceres turned retrograde in Aquarius and when Venus made ingress to Leo and Vesta to Aries and both of them engaged in a trine with retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius right away, have not only inspired us to turn inside and review the nurturing principle and how it operates in our life, especially in regard to our social purpose, circle and identity, but also to revisit our sense of structure together with the conditions, boundaries or limits we have developed over time. As a result, we learnt some important personal lessons related to tolerance and to our judgment of others lately, because the ego came into play and so did our self-love for which our inner flame is burning strong currently. In fact, it is firing us up, daring us and pushing us. Consequently, convinced by our righteousness or beliefs, dramas have been enacted, which resulted either in self-aggrandizement or in growing understanding. In any case, it is essential that we reach an agreement or else we have to cut ties to be able to move on from these situations. Therefore, the ‘crisis in consciousness’ that accompanies the Third Quarter Moon challenges us to become aware of our reality picture and perception of things, in particular what our expectations and projections concerns, and also of the thinking process that leads us to these assumptions and conclusions. We have a chance now to make progress if we are willing to look at both sides of an issue, because our approach or the politics and strategies we are using for this purpose can either harm or help, depending on how flexible and adaptable we are and if our intentions are well-meant. Thus, it’s either peace or war – the choice is ours (Sabian Symbol for the Taurus New Moon was: “An old Indian woman selling the artifacts of her tribe to passers-by. Keynote: Peaceful adaptation to collective needs – ADJUSTMENT.”).

Tarot card of the day is the 5 of Wands”, depicting a day of struggles, restlessness and also playfulness when a lot of ideas are floating around and we could encounter conflicts or quarrels – inside and outside. We might be bothered by trivialities as well as overwhelmed by the pressure and demands on us. It is important to not lose sight of the bigger picture and let these minor vexations deplete our energies. Therefore, we need to get a grasp on these fluctuating energies and whims and carefully assess our attitude, while opening us to the changes they bring into our life.

Astro-Notes on June 29, 2014 – struggling with temptations

A trine from the Sun in Cancer to retrograde Neptune in Pisces shows that we met certain expectations or projections regarding our self-image and as a result feel nurtured and supported now that things are coming together and this allows us to sustain a vision again we had in the past. As Venus and Juno in Gemini connect with the Sun and retrograde Neptune via semi-sextile and square, respectively, reunions with important others we call family or can depend on are happening and we’re enjoying ourselves as well as others’ company, depending on how aware we are of our ideals and theirs and thus how well we get along and can adapt to the situation or fit the role we’re supposed to be playing in these dynamics. For instance, here in Canada we are having a long weekend, because we’re celebrating Canada Day. Personally, I have several things to take care of (amongst them shopping for gifts for my friend and her family where I will be vacationing in July) and although I have an additional day off from work with retrograde Saturn in Scorpio in quincunx aspect to Uranus in Aries, the opening hours of the stores and the reading I scheduled require from me to adjust my time and schedule accordingly. Per example, yesterday evening at the onset of this aspect configuration, I went on a long walk through my surroundings and upon entering as yet unfamiliar paths, the miles ahead of me seemed to stretch endlessly and I ended up with ‘hurt’ feet I had to soothe in a footbath once I returned home from my journey. At least I was able to sleep deeply throughout the fireworks (Vesta-Ceres). However, these walks are beneficial to my overall wellbeing, as well as calming and healing, especially after the ‘unpleasantness’ of dealing with demanding customers on those long weekends. Today, I ‘m not in the mood to do anything than just relaxing, but this of course is not an option with all the chores I have to attend to. The Moon made ingress to Leo early this morning at 4:42 am EDT, bringing forth a playful, dramatic, boisterous and selfish vibe. So, beware of the pitfalls of pride and ego-centricity – the shadow Self (the evil twin) is very prominent during these social setups when we tend to let loose and party extensively, while seeking freedom and liberation from the constraining conditions of everyday life.

Tarot card of the day is The Devil”, a card that comes with the message “I can untie the binds and set myself free”. We may in some way feel controlled by our environment or by our attitude and may therefore have a fear of taking our power back or of having to succumb to unwanted circumstances. It’s a day when we’re overly concerned with material security and when therefore money and material wellbeing are very important to us. The material world is highlighted and with it our darker emotions. A tendency toward negativity and pessimism could keep us addicted and enslaved to whatever issue we give control over us. Therefore, temptations of all kinds will abound.

Astro-Notes on June 25, 2014 – hidden influences

Today, Juno in Gemini is linked to Ceres in Libra via a tense sesqui-quadrate, whereas retrograde Mercury in Gemini connects to Jupiter in Cancer by semi-sextile and Pallas in Virgo trines retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. So, things are going to get better over the course of the day if we put the necessary effort into it and don’t give up right away. It might require some negotiating and compromising on our part, but agreements can be reached easily if we review the facts and then decide what is in the best interest of all parties concerned. Although we know how important it is to maintain our daily routines, sometimes we have no other options than to accommodate and adapt to the current moment or developments, even if that means to temporarily venture of our path or mission. In the end, our politics will work out as things get done one way or another – just not necessarily in the right order. And instead of fretting about it or stressing ourselves out, we might actually see improvement and some results, while accepting that we did what we could.

Tarot card of the day is the The High Priestess”, suggesting that we’re aware of a larger reality and see the potential or understand the possibilities as we open us to what could be. We’re looking beyond the obvious and being receptive to all kinds of subtle and hidden influences, which include our inner voice we need to listen to and trust. Also, we need to look for areas of our life, which are out of balance and therefore require greater foresight and wisdom. Our life is changing. Things that once seemed certain can no longer be taken for granted.

I had only started out to write on this blog post yesterday evening, but then got distracted by an advertisement that enticed me to reconsider their services for my business cards. Thus, I spent my time browsing through their selection, but couldn’t really settle for a design. However, I came up with a catchphrase for the promotion of my business. Meanwhile, it had gotten so humid in here that I could barely concentrate. Still not sure about the design though.

Astro-Notes on June 24, 2014 –

An asymmetric triangle configuration is formed as Venus in Gemini engages in the

Mars-Uranus opposition with a sesqui-quadrate and a semi-square. Consequently, we’re confronted with a conflict in regard to our approach and intentions and thus, which actions to take to sell and promote ourselves or our cause well and this keeps us vacillating as we’re comparing our choices and weighing the pros and cons of the situation, while trying to decide whether it’s worth the risk or not. Yes, we want to make progress and move on or ahead, but should we really take chances at this offer or rather justify why we can’t agree to the terms and conditions. A sesqui-quadrate between Juno in Gemini and Vesta in Libra urges us to assess our commitments and investments fairly and objectively to be able to clarify our role within these relationship dynamics and whether or not we are willing to compromise things we hold sacred. After the Moon’s ingress to Gemini at 7:05 am EDT will our moods vary and switch easily, while our environment will keep us busy.

Tarot card of the day is the 2 of Wands”, representing the urge to move on, be bold and daring as well as original and proactive. This card indicates that we have come to a time of decision, where we must decide whether we want to build on what we have or perhaps expand in a new direction. It also suggests that we might be in the planning stages of developing a business. Therefore, it is imperative that we bring forward the patience and focus of our intent and maximize on these opportunities, which are coming our way now. We need to confront the situation head-on, leave familiar grounds behind, step out into a new world and explore our options. Moreover, this card can also refer to the productive meeting of minds, from which partnerships can prosper and be successful.

Astro-Notes on June 23, 2014 – finding middle ground

Venus made ingress to Gemini this morning at 8:33 am EDT, where she will be traversing until July 18, which corresponds to a period when we are more flexible and adaptable in regard to our values, priorities, preferences and attachments. During this time, we could also be dealing with mixed feelings, voice or communicate our needs and wants more clearly, learn more or educate ourselves about finances and the material aspect of life in general and think or inform and concern ourselves more with beauty, worth and self-worth issues, validation, lifestyle and the things that brings us happiness and contentment. With the Sun in Cancer engaged in a sesqui-quadrate aspect to retrograde Saturn in Scorpio, we’re undergoing a time of crisis support-wise, when inevitable conditions necessitate that we take care of ourselves, our past and close family as we’re trying to cope with consequences, limitations and shared responsibilities and resources. While Pallas in Virgo forms a semi-square to the North Node in Libra (sesqui-quadrate South Node in Aries), retrograde Mercury in Gemini casts a trine to this point (sextile SN in Aries). Therefore, we know we have to be of service and help out as good as we can or as far as this is possible, find solutions for these problems and come up with workable strategies to be able to accommodate our future prospects, instead of struggling with politics or circumstances over which we have no control anyways. Reviewing the latest facts, data and communications we had will assist us in making the right decisions and arrangements.

Tarot card of the day is Temperance”, suggesting a need for emotional stability, which can be achieved through moderation and a commitment to sobriety. We need to find middle ground, avoid excess, foster cooperation, cleanse our body and mind, heal ourselves and recognize the flow in our life. As we observe the nature of energy, we learn how to mix the right ingredients in our own life to maintain equilibrium and see all imbalances drifting away. Instead of sweeping changes subtle shifts need to take place. With renewed energy and vigor comes the promise of new growth.

In the news:

With Venus in the last degree of Taurus and the Moon in Taurus I used the opportunity of being off work and having nice, warm weather yesterday to recover from a cold I had caught when t Venus was squaring my natal Saturn. No major aspects were formed yesterday anyway. With the ‘Knight of Swords’ as Tarot card of the day, we had a Blues- and Rib-Festival downtown, which I visited later in the afternoon once I felt better. Since my daughter stayed overnight, we went grocery shopping in the morning (here the Prince of Swords helped me to get my stuff home easily and quickly) and discussed our future plans and strategies. While out on my balcony, enjoying the Sun, I read a book – so, mental or air energy was at its peak for me. 🙂

Astro-Notes on June 21, 2014 – Summer Solstice

Reaching its northernmost point from the equator, the Sun’s ingress to Cancer at 6:51 am EDT

this morning marks the summer solstice and the beginning of summer. Consequently, here in the Northern Hemisphere, we experience the longest day, whereas for the Southern Hemisphere it is the longest night and the start of winter. As the Sun seems to ‘stand still’ (sol sistere) high in the sky, we transition into ‘stasis’ and have a chance to pause, stop and take stock before fully committing ourselves to the new season. Individual development is at peak. There is liveliness and vibrancy as well as a re-gathering and refocusing of intent. A time of Self-nurturance and Self-growth, even Self-preservation, of sustaining our sense of Self, supporting and taking care of our center and core identity, is beginning now. Consequently, Venus in Taurus engages in a sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn on which she follows up with a semi-sextile to retrograde Mercury in Gemini, urging us to recover, rebuild and reorganize our affairs in order to feel secure, content and validated and to have our values and priorities met. Then we can shift our focus back toward more pleasant things, socialize, enjoy the scene or setting or whatever offers us sensual and mental delights and this will even come easier to us after the Moon’s ingress to Taurus at 11:03 pm EDT.

Tarot card of the day is The Fool”, for the 3rd time this month (there is a message here!), referring to unlimited potential, new beginnings, a sense of innocence and naivety. Anything can happen as we start on this journey. We could be taken into unchartered territory and thus need to be aware of the risks and dangers we could encounter, but also need to be ready to take on the opportunities presented to us. This card encourages us to have faith and calls upon us to trust, believe in our spirit and to follow our heart.

Personal Note: My daughter will pick me up from work this afternoon. I have theatre tickets for later tonight. We’ll be seeing Shakespeare’s ‘A midsummer night’s dream’, right in sync with the event. 🙂

Astro-Notes on June 20, 2014 – hurry up already

Venus in Taurus casts a quincunx to the North Node in Libra (semi-sextile South Node in Aries), indicating a value or priority adjustment we make to be able to accommodate relationship needs, which have arisen recently and where we took the initiative or reacted promptly to cooperate with the situation and ensure our future prospects are met. As Chiron stations retrograde at 17:45 degrees of Pisces at 8:45 am EDT, a period begins during which we will review and reflect on the wounding and healing principle and our unfinished business or unresolved issues in this regard.
Personally and right in sync with the “Knight of Swords” I have to hurry up, because I switched shifts in the ‘spur of a moment’, so to speak, as our anniversary sale is starting today and we want to make sure that all the procedures, which are part of our daily routine as department managers, are taken care of. Therefore, once I returned home yesterday, I had to do all the tasks I had left for this morning originally. My daughter will pick me up from work tomorrow afternoon, because we have tickets for the theatre and I want to get everything ready for her visit.

Tarot card of the day is the Knight of Swords”, indicating that we’re embarking on a new project or idea and there’s no stopping us. We’re headstrong and outspoken as we know what we are talking about and let others know where we or they stand, thereby going straight to the point. Certain things can no longer be avoided – the confrontation will come and commence. Yet, there is great ambition, determination and strength as our physical, emotional and spiritual energy is at a peak. Group discussions with like-minded people are best suited to inspire and motivate one another.
