Astro-Notes on January 26, 2013 – Leo Full Moon

Venus in Capricorn casts a sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Jupiter in Gemini, on which she follows up with a square to Eris in Aries and a semi-square to Chiron in Pisces, which speaks of quite a rough start in the day, whereby we could be feeling the pressure of relationship obligations, especially in regard to arrangements, which might not be worth our time or demands we think are unjustifiable or wants that seem simply not right or fair to us. As a consequence, emotions we suppressed and contained for a long time, might rise to the surface and result in strife and discord when we had enough of it already. Thus, we might be struggling to keep our frustration under wraps, in particular if our own needs are not met and we are already subjected to lack and hurt in one form or another. Knowing that we need to do something about the situation, we take steps to promote our values, worth and talents. After the Moon’s ingress to Leo at 9:20 am EST will we tend toward dramatizing our feelings and seek out the spotlight to gain recognition. As Vesta, who has been in retrograde motion since October 21, stations direct at 9:50 Gemini at 11:51 am EST, our energy is highly concentrated, ‘inspiriting’ us to communicate the things we are devoted to and which we hold sacred; after we revisited these matters for the last 3 months under the lens of versatile Gemini coloring and subsequently, might see them with different eyes. A semi-square from Mars in Aquarius to Pluto in Capricorn urges us to strengthen our influence over circumstances where a specialized approach is necessary in order to achieve our ends under conditions we have to master somehow. With the Sun in Aquarius engaged in a semi-sextile to Chiron in Pisces, we have to make life choices, which allow us to end our suffering and come out of our cave to be able to become ‘visible’ and differentiate or distinguish ourselves for our individual cause. This is the prelude to the Leo Full Moon that will transpire late in the night at 11:38 pm EST, when the seed impulse of the Capricorn New Moon together with the one planted at the time of the Leo New Moon in August 2012 culminate and the defeated general (Sabian Symbol for the Capricorn New Moon) becomes a communist activist, spreading his revolutionary ideals (Sabian Symbol for the Leo Full Moon), while the promise of immortality (Sabian Symbol for the Leo New Moon) is fulfilled in the Exemplars, who present to us the archetypes of a new culture (Sabian Symbol for the Aquarius Sun).

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 7:24 Leo states:

“A communist activist spreading his revolutionary ideals. Keynote: The emotional and ideological attempt to return to a state of non-differentiation and chaos as a prelude to a new type of order – CATABOLIC ACTION.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 7:24 Aquarius states:

“Beautifully gowned wax figures on display. Keynote: “The inspiration one may derive from the appearance of Exemplars, who present to us the archetypes of a new culture – PERFORMATION.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolic Phases, Pages 136 and 254-255, respectively)

Implied by these symbolical pictures is the necessity to reinvent ourselves, even to change our life or sense of Self, by drawing attention to our cause or the part of our identity that has been hidden, remained unshaped or undeveloped, in order to join the avant garde and fulfill our group purpose.

Leo Full Moon 2013Tarot card of the day is the “3 of Wands”, suggesting opportunities to expand our horizons as everything is progressing steadily and we’re motivated to make changes and explore options. There is a creative blending of energy as we’ve reached the point where action is now taking place and others are willing to help us make things happen. Consequently, we need to become aware of more potential that exists outside of our current environment and think big. It’s a card of vision and foresight and looking for greater possibilities. Therefore, we need to remain open-minded and adopt a longer-term view.
