Welcome to 2014 and Happy New Year! happy-new-year-2014-holiday-hd-wallpaper-1920x1080-6341

The New Year begins with Juno’s ingress to Pisces at 2:14 am EST, where she will be traversing until March 3. This corresponds to a period during which we have a chance to slip into the role we have envisioned shaped by our encounters and interactions with others, while being more receptive, sensitive, impressionable and idealistic in the manner we relate. Thus, our relationship principle will be based on ideals and expectations we have, but also on delusions and losses we suffer as well as on the victim-perpetrator-redeemer dynamic. In any case, we will be more inclined to show solidarity and unify or sacrifice for the common good or a common cause and at the same time it’ll be easier to yield, let go and give in to defeat.
At 6:14 am EST will the Sun and Moon meet in conjunction in the earthy sign Capricorn, starting a new and the first of two lunation cycles in this month that will be relevant for the entire year 2014. Because this New Moon happens two months after the preceding Solar Eclipse, it is in sextile aspect to it, which means we now have the opportunity to work on the realization of the potential seeded at that time, demonstrated by the Sabian Symbols for these lunations: “The representatives of the elite of the ruling class at the official embassy ball” (Sabian Symbol and keynote for the Scorpio New Moon/Solar Eclipse) are ‘resembled’ in the “large group of pheasant on a private estate” (Sabian Symbol for the Capricorn New Moon). Consequently, the ‘aristocracy’ or ‘high society’ referred to is a level of (social, cultural) development we aspire toward and which can be achieved through ‘refinement’ (sophistication, civility) and the ‘propagation of aristocratic values’ (or high standards and higher values). After the superior conjunction of the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn (the Full-Moon-phase in their synodic cycle – the cycle began on November 1 preceding the Solar Eclipse) a couple of days ago, the Sun is now following Mercury and thus heading toward conjunction with Pluto (Mercury-Pluto conjunction perfected yesterday morning), which not only starts a new sub-cycle, but also implies that a new way of thinking (appropriately, I drew the Ace of Swords for that day) gives way to a new way of Being. Moreover, Mercury in Capricorn’s trine to Pallas in Virgo indicates that the old mentality and also the way we used to reason, plan and conduct our affairs have improved. Gradually and systematically, we’ve been gaining control over our life’s circumstances and come to terms with limiting conditions, all the while becoming masters of our fate. This grounding influence has and is still helping us to realize our ambitions, goals and life’s purpose, thereby strengthening our sense of Self as well as forming and structuring our personality or character and preparing us for the next step.

1. Capricorn New Moon 2014

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 10:57 Capricorn states:
“A large group of pheasant on a private estate. Keynote: The refinement and propagation of aristocratic values by means of which man participates in the evolution of life toward ever more perfect forms of existence – ARISTOCRACY.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and Its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page 236)

Inner riches or qualities are reflected in a pleasant, cultured life and contribute to the group’s or collective’s evolution. With the New Moon at the apex of a cardinal t-square with Mars in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries, it is pivotal to act in accordance with new trends in order to instigate progress instead of reacting or responding in a reactionary and extreme manner. In fact, mannerisms are the decisive factor in many situations in the same sense as our reputability and future is at stake. We have to realize that things won’t just be handed to us or can be taken for granted, but have to be fought for or achieved. Also, it is absolutely necessary that we recognize the importance of gratitude and don’t rest on our laurels, but keep striving. Our resolve together with our ability to manage, even amidst chaos, will prove invaluable and confront us with the measure of authority and control we truly have. Therefore and in order to prevail, we have to relax, rewind and let go off the stress and frustration, while focusing on win-win scenarios, peace and reconciliation. Once we change our perception, we will realize that there aren’t any problems – only solutions.

Tarot card of the day is the “Ace of Cups”, suggesting that love is the essence of the situation and that positive energy and emotion can be created, if we let our heart lead the way and empathize and cooperate with others. This is a time of giving and peacemaking, when we have a new opportunity to help or bring happiness to others and when relationships can be taken to a new level or when there’s a new beginning in our interactions with others. It can moreover represent the start of a project in which a great deal of loving and creative energy is invested. We are at a point in our life where we are comfortable with who we are and express that part to others. Moreover, we see new potential, are open to new possibilities as well as to the stimulation of our imagination, which allows our creative juices to flow and our talents to unfold. In general, we can make a fresh start and there’s a chance that things may change for the better from now on, especially what our happiness and contentment concerns.
