Astro-Notes on September 24, 2018 – Aries Full Moon

The Full Moon that transpired tonight at 7:52 pm PDT highlights the relationship axis. On one end of the polarity we find the Self, self-awareness, self-interests, initiative, motivation and assertiveness and on the other side there are the others, other-awareness, teamwork, cooperation, compromise, accommodation and agreement.

Any conflicts and confrontations or clashes we may experience now have to be reconciled, balanced and integrated. This, however, could prove pretty challenging as the Aries Full Moon is conjunct retrograde Chiron and forms a t-square with the Vesta-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn, meaning that we’re encountering obstacles, limitations and setbacks regarding the rules of engagement, which are at cross-purpose with our intentions and are re-opening old wounds.

Therefore, we are challenged to strengthen our focus and commitment to the causes we want to accomplish and keep trying until something works. Mars in Aquarius, the ruler of the Full Moon, has left a square to his dispositor Uranus and is approaching the South Node again. After this ‘continuous’ state of emergency we experienced over the course of the last couple of weeks, we’re less on edge, frenzied, manic or overly reactive and more detached, cool and objective in our assessment. We’re changing our approach and we’re ready to shake these old patterns of extreme and eccentric behavior and let our star shine again.

As the Virgo lunation cycle culminates into the Aries Full Moon, the impulse that sounded forth at the time of the Aries New Moon back in April also comes to fruition. In the symbolical language of the Sabians we get the following story: “A volcanic eruption – the explosive energy of long-repressed contents of the subconscious” (Sabian Symbol and keynote for the Virgo NM) has inspired “the capacity to look objectively at oneself and at others – objectivation of consciousness” (keynote of the Aries Full Moon). Thus, the ensuing “revision of attitude and inner revaluation” (keynote of the Aries NM from April) has resulted in “a repolarization of inner energies leading to creative centralization of consciousness” (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Libra Sun).

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 1:59 Aries states:

“A comedian reveals human nature. Keynote: The capacity to look objectively at oneself and at others – OBJECTIVATION OF CONSCIOUSNESS.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 1:59 Libra states:

“The transmutation of the fruits of past experiences into the seed realizations of the forever creative spirit. Keynote: A repolarization of inner energies leading to creative centralization of consciousness – CREATIVE CENTRALIZATION.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 51 and 172-173 respectively)

Suggested by the imagery is the ‘process of mirroring’ as a way leading to self-awareness, objectivity and a re-balancing of one’s energies by concentrating on one’s state of Being and center in order to restore inner peace and a sense of harmony.

Tarot card of the day is the “Page of Pentacles”, a messenger who brings news about material matters. We have to pay special attention to our health, assets, possessions and resources and cannot take any risks in this regard. However, we’re asked to start and work with what we have and slowly make it grow, one step at a time.

Astro-Notes on September 9, 2018 – New Moon in Virgo

A New Moon is a time of new beginnings, when we plant seeds in accordance with the symbolism of the sign in which the New Moon falls. With the New Moon in the sign Virgo, we want to focus on self-improvement, health, work, service, apprenticeship, functionality, efficiency and daily routines as we set our intentions.

The Virgo New Moon forms a tense sesqui-quadrate aspect to retrograde Uranus in Taurus, thereby activating the earth grand trine between Pallas in Virgo, Saturn in Capricorn and the latter. So, this new cycle is pressurizing us in regard to change, progress, reform and individualization. We’re urged to do things differently, based on strategies we employed that led to success and achievement or brought results. It is imperative at this point to twist and tweak and experiment until we get it ‘right’ and things will work for us.

Venus made ingress to Scorpio early this morning, where she will be transiting until October 31, when she will be returning to Libra during her impending retrograde. Newly in Scorpio, she engaged with retrograde Neptune in Pisces by way of a sesqui-quadrate. This ushered in a phase, during which we seek to share, evolve, transform and renew values, attachments, resources, preferences, needs and relationships, whereby it is important to be aware of expectations, projections, illusions, ideals, hopes, wishes and longings.

As Venus follows up with a quincunx to retrograde Chiron at the Aries Point and Ceres in Libra is approaching another one to retrograde Uranus in Taurus, adjustments have to be made to restore the balance in those areas we’ve been struggling with since ‘day 1’ (the Aries Point – the very beginning), especially in regard to support and validation, so that we can turn these situations around. Although we may undergo some inner turmoil, could feel unsettled and upset or ready to rock the boat, this has the potential to help us to detach from or break with repetitive patterns and get newly inspired.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 17:00 Virgo states:

“A volcanic eruption. Keynote: The explosive energy of long-repressed contents of the subconscious – EXPLOSION.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Page 161)

Tarot card of the day and for this new cycle is the “7 of Cups”, representing a multiplicity of possibilities and choices that need to be looked at for their potential – real or imagined – as well as for their basis in reality, whereby we need to be aware that not all that glisters is gold and that less enticing options might turn out to be great opportunities. Therefore, it’s important now to narrow our focus.
