Astro-Notes on February 28, 2013 – evaluation of dreams

Venus’ conjunction to Neptune in Pisces marks the beginning of a new cycle that combines the personal with the

universal love principle and thus personal values with higher values in the receptive, supersensitive and unifying sign Pisces. As a consequence, today is one of those days when we actually can touch and feel the world soul and also attune our inner life to other higher spheres or let our senses be impressed and colored by all kinds of influences and relationships, especially what the evaluation of our dreams, ideals, visions and expectations concerns.

Tarot card of the day is the “7 of Pentacles”, suggesting slow growth. The seeds have been sown, but there is no sign yet that they have germinated. Some things are moving along well and we feel hopeful about the future, while others seem to be pointless. Consequently, we are applying a long-term view and focus on sustainability of results. It’s time now to assess which of our energy investments are worth it and where we might have to change direction. Thus, we are taking stock, reflecting on our progress, questioning our choices and find out where we stand.

Personal Note: I’m awaiting responses to requests I sent out to several friends in order to find out where I’m standing creative-wise and to be able to orient myself as I’m envisioning my next steps.

A headline in the news reads: “Want to honeymoon on Mars?” Let a wacky Russian millionaire offer you to opportunity of a lifetime. – And in other news it says: “The future Pope is among you!”

Astro-Notes on February 27, 2013 – seeing wound spots clearly

Since the Moon’s ingress to Libra at 8:01 am EST this morning have we been striving for inner harmony and peace, while seeking to even things out and to keep our feelings stable and balanced. As the Sun meets Chiron in conjunction in Pisces, a new cycle begins that combines our sense of Self with the wounding and healing principle in the sensitizing, transcending and attuning sign Pisces. Consequently, today we might be particularly aware of our wound spots and with the Sun shining a light on them we could receive revelations, which could lead to release and thus we could take on the role of the one who wounds or the one who heals. In the Piscean triad this refers to the perpetrator, the redeemer/savior or the victim. So typical for the Mercury retrograde cycle, I woke this night again from the water drops dripping through the leak in the ceiling of my bedroom, which apparently hasn’t been sealed properly. Therefore, I left a message on the landlord’s answer machine, well aware of my higher ideals, but secretly cursing him and this building. The wound spot for me is that I cannot get a whole night’s sleep here. Also typical for a Mercury retrograde, my keyboard is frozen. I can barely type. Everything takes forever (such a Piscean word). The Sun-Chiron conjunction squares my natal Mercury in Sagittarius in house 4. Restarting the computer didn’t help. I guess I just have to wait it out as always during those times.

Tarot card of the day is “The Sun”, which represents positive energy, enthusiasm and vitality. This card gives us strength and puts us in a position where we can share our highest qualities. It bodes well for the fruition of our ambitions and is an auspicious time to take care of the inner child. We know where we are heading; our path is illuminated based on the clarity of our vision. Moreover, we reflect on the value of simplicity and get back to the simple pleasures.

Astro-Notes on February 26, 2013 – reconsideration

Retrograde Mercury’s conjunction to Mars in Pisces, who also casts a trine to the North Node in Scorpio

(sextile South Node in Taurus) signals the ending of a phase of unrealized intentions based on actions finally taken for the sake of our future prospects, while going over things left undone or unfinished and using the opportunity to review projects, ideas or plans we pursued in the past, while reconnecting with past contacts with whom we share an interest, especially what our intentions for the future concerns. Awareness of our thoughts and motivation is essential though in this easy flow of ‘revelations’ that could result in all kinds of finalizing acts. A semi-square between Venus in Pisces and Pallas in Aries reminds us to not lose sight of our priorities and neither of our higher values, urging us to be nice and kind when instigating the necessary actions, which enable us to meet our as yet unfulfilled needs and desires. Per example, as I read through my mail this morning I noticed that I had been added to yet another Facebook group, which raised the impulse to delete this friend, an overreaction I reconsidered.

Tarot card of the day is Temperance”, suggesting a need for emotional stability, which can be achieved through moderation and a commitment to sobriety. We need to find middle ground, avoid excess, foster cooperation, cleanse our body and mind, heal ourselves and recognize the flow in our life. As we observe the nature of energy, we learn how to mix the right ingredients in our own life to maintain equilibrium and see all imbalances drifting away. Instead of sweeping changes subtle shifts need to take place. With renewed energy and vigor comes the promise of new growth.

Astro-Notes on February 25, 2013 – Virgo Full Moon

Since the Moon’s ingress to Virgo at 1:52 am EST early this morning have we been feeling more inclined to serve and fulfill our duties or chores. Efficiency has become the order of the day. As the Sun in Pisces casts a semi-square to Eris in Aries and then squares Jupiter in Gemini, the importance of existential questions and needs has been dawning on us and pushing us into action for the sake of our self-interests in order to bring our competitive spirit forward and save us from ‘self-undoing’, whereby we are challenged to turn a corner and give our life direction and purpose, instead of getting lost in all the possibilities. This is the prelude to the Virgo Full Moon that transpires at 3:26 pm EST when the seed impulse planted at the time of the Aquarius New Moon together with the one that sounded forth at the time of the Virgo New Moon (September 15, 2012) culminates and the rug that has been placed on the floor of a nursery to allow children to play in comfort and warmth (Sabian Symbol for the Aquarius New Moon) becomes the foundation upon which a five-year-old child takes a first dancing lesson (Sabian Symbol for the Virgo Full Moon), while the purity and innocence expressed in the symbolical picture of Mary and her little lamb (Sabian Symbol for the Virgo New Moon) reveals our potentiality for initiation (keyword of the Sabian Symbol for the Virgo Full Moon) as the girl is now blowing a bugle (Sabian Symbol for the Sun in Pisces) calling us to participate in the service of the race in a summoning to rebirth (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Sun in Pisces).

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 7:23 Virgo states:

“A five-year-old child takes a first dancing lesson. Keynote: Learning to use one’s capacity for emotional self-expression according to cultural standards – POTENTIALITY OF INITIATION.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 7:23 Pisces states:

“A girl blowing a bugle. Keynote: A call to participation in the service of the race as an evolutionary crisis approaches – it SUMMONS men to rebirth.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolic Phases”, Pages 155 and 273, respectively)

Virgo Full Moon 2013Implied by these symbolical images is the necessity for self-improvement through practice and the training of our skills and to follow our calling in order to be able to fulfill our birth potential. After Venus’ ingress to Pisces at 9:02 pm EST, where she will be traversing until March 22, a period begins, during which our value system together with the emotional, financial, material and relational aspects of our life are colored by our ideals, dreams and imagination and we consequently seek to release our talents, yearn for appreciation and validation and ‘tune our attractiveness’.

Tarot card of the day is the “3 of Pentacles”, a card that refers to encouragement due to cooperation and collaboration. Teamwork and planning are the essential ingredients toward the achievement of our goals. We’re taking the next step toward becoming established and also toward mastering our fears. Improvement of our situation and success are possible if we apply the necessary effort and show persistence.

Astro-Notes on February 24, 2013 – ‘knowing’

A semi-sextile from the Sun in Pisces to Uranus in Aries shows that we make a personal adjustment in response to

unexpected developments or new trends that could change our day. Just as I walked over to the kitchen this morning my phone rang. It was my daughter, letting me know that she’d come over for a visit. What a nice surprise! Well, it wasn’t really a surprise as I “knew” from the transits, especially the ones happening in my own chart. We chatted away for quite a while, enjoyed some special tea together with my potato latkes, but then she couldn’t wait to leave, which might have had something to do with the DVD set I had gifted her with – a late Valentine’s – the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones” Season 2, the release of which she has been awaiting eagerly and has been asking me for since before Christmas last year. Anyway, there is a reason why I drew this Tarot card for the day – not ‘just’ because the Moon is in Leo – for me the spoiling, fun part is now over – I have to focus on my creative endeavors, especially those texts that have been awaiting completion for a few days already. Interesting in this regard is also that I drew ‘The Chariot’ yesterday, which is indeed preceding today’s card in the major arcana. So, there might have been a ‘knowing’ in which direction or toward which destination to steer our Chariot. 🙂

Tarot card of the day is “Strength”, a card also sometimes named ‘The Enchantress’, symbolizing the bringing together of consciousness with ‘knowing’. It furthermore suggests that we draw upon our inner strength and the power of our spirit and will. With compassion and understanding can we handle the most difficult situation and also tame the beast within. We have the ability to be tolerant, forgiving and accepting and thus can gently influence our environment. Furthermore, we can be assured that we have enough endurance to see things through to their end and get a lot accomplished.
