Astro-Notes on November 30, 2010 – contentment

The Moon made ingress into even-tempered, easy-going Libra at 07:15 am EST and will follow up with squares to the North Node and Pluto in Capricorn later in the day, testing our persistence and self-control. At 07:10 pm EST will Mercury ingress Capricorn, where he will be traversing until February 3, 2011 due to his retrogradation that will lead him back into Sagittarian territory. Mercury in Capricorn is a time when we focus on the practical, feasible, realistic and productive aspects of life, concentrate on plain necessities, to-do-lists, matters of organization and that are related to our ambitions and business affairs.

Tarot card of the day is the “9 of Pentacles”, indicating that we’ve reached a point in our life where we are feeling self-confident, are self-sufficient and have attained success. Appreciation is felt for what is now available, knowing that the difficulties are over. This card denotes the ability to complete any work necessary through self-discipline and patience. Tangible gain leads to relaxation and solitary leisure.

Astro-Notes on November 29, 2010 – containment

Satya Paul Tarot Deck

Mars in Sagittarius is square Jupiter in Pisces and Pallas in Sagittarius is trine Eris Rx in Aries
, indicating that we need to overcome a pressing urge to jump to conclusion and into situations for the sake of action and with the aim of scoring big and let us be guided by our knowledge and higher principles instead. With Venus’ re-entry into Scorpio tonight at 07:33 pm EST, where she will travel until January 8, 2011, a phase begins when we can apply a rebalanced system of values resultant from the retrograde in order to evolve our approach.

Tarot card of the day is “The Druid” (Hierophant), representing concern with matters of faith, belief and morality and states that are both, reverential and mystical. This card symbolizes a bridge between the outer world of perceptions and the inner world of spirit. We are encouraged to find freedom through knowledge and exploration. This might be a time when we are in the process of finding meaning in our lives through looking within for guidance. We may need to adopt a more conventional way of thinking though.

In the news: The release of more than 250,000 classified State Department documents forced the Obama administration into damage control, trying to contain fallout from unflattering assessments of world leaders and revelations about backstage U.S. diplomacy. The publication of secret cables on Sunday amplified widespread global alarm about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and unveiled occasional U.S. pressure tactics aimed at hot spots in Afghanistan, Pakistan and North Korea. The leaks also disclosed bluntly candid impressions from both diplomats and other world leaders about America’s allies and foes. -The leaking of these documents (Mars-Jupiter square happening at the time of the Third Quarter Moon and with aspect contacts which involve Eris – these are depicting the mentality and attitudes in this case) is a huge blow to the U.S.’s image as ‘world saviour’ that spreads nasty truths about tactics and strategies used by diplomats and world leaders alike to achieve their ends (Pallas-Eris), exposed with Venus is in the last degree of Libra (diplomacy, interaction, allies and foes), a point of culmination and urgency. The world of politics is no nice arena where fair competition takes place – it is the business of washing dirty laundry.

Personal Note: Yesterday night I found myself a good spot on the sidewalk from where to watch the Christmas Parade as it proceeded down mainstreet. Looking at those nicely decorated cars and caravans and listening to the Christmas music really got me in the spirit of the season, although I was ‘frozen’ from standing there for half an hour at least. It took my mind off from the problems and frustrations, in particular what the broken dryer concerns J didn’t repair or replace, which means he’ll be doing this during the Mercury retrograde, when it may occur to him that this house doesn’t have the space I’d need to dry his uniforms. As always, it’s first things first for him, but this is his learning process he has to go through and all I can do is to hope that he may come out of it wiser. 🙂

Astro-Notes on November 28, 2010 – modesty

The Moon made an ingress into analytical, pragmatic Virgo at 04:33 am EST and will follow up with trines to the North Node and Pluto in Capricorn before she reaches her Third Quarter Phase at 03:36 pm EST. Meanwhile, the Sun in Sagittarius engages in a sesqui-quadrate to Eris Rx in Aries, who also receives a quincunx from Juno in Virgo. Thus, the circumstances allow us to carry out tasks and routines that serve our future prospects and manageability, whereby it is essential to curb our enthusiasm and temper our attitude to not unnecessarily create discord only to have things our way. With the waning Virgo Moon squaring off the Sagittarian Sun, the crisis in consciousness is a matter of modesty that calls for mindfulness, which is also restated in Mercury in Sagittarius’s semi-sextile aspect to Vesta in Scorpio, urging us to no longer fuel strife and waste our energy arguing based on feeling compelled to give voice to subconscious patterns in form of our personal truth.

Tarot card of the day is the “5 of Cups”, conveying a sense of despair, sorrow and loss or sadness and suggesting non-attainment of expected results and pessimism about the future, which requires a readjustment. Recommended is to explore the emotional depths and transform the negativity, because no matter how hopeless things seem, there’s always something to be saved from the situation.

Astro-Notes on November 27, 2010 – shaping situations

Mercury in Sagittarius casts sextiles to Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius and a square to Uranus Rx in Pisces, offering us a chance to treat sensitive issues and delicate subjects with more awareness and a higher level of tolerance or with more ignorance and righteousness – the choice is ours to make and is inspired by our guiding principles. The challenge is to see the whole picture in order to grasp what can be expected in return.

Tarot card of the day is “The Magician”, suggesting that we have the ability to act not react and the willpower to direct our energy in the direction we want it to go. It is time to approach our whole life situation with a new creative and original attitude. With self-confidence we will gain the knowledge and the ability to tackle the important issues that need to be dealt with so that success can be achieved.

Personal Note:  Today is my maternal grandmother’s birthday for which my large family used to come together to celebrate in big style. All of us looked forward to this day, because it was a time of much laughter and fun and of connecting with each other. With the transiting Sun in Sagittarius squaring off my natal ASC/DSC axis from house 4, this was a day of much excitement and ‘discovery’ in my youth when my Granny was still alive, because we had a chance to get to know the members of the family who lived in West Germany. The political situation prohibited us in the east zone of the divided Germany to travel to the west zone, whereas the visitors from the west zone had to apply for a visa and had to pay the East German government a daily fee per person. Anyway, my Granny was a wonderful Lady with whom I spent much time. I can say I was her favorite from among almost 30 grandchildren. She lived to the age of 87 and I miss her dearly.

Astro-Notes on November 26, 2010 – attitude

The image is from the Halo/Sharp Triumph of Spirit Tarot by Michael Sharp

The Moon ingressed confident, self-expressive Leo at 01:01 am EST this morning and is on her way to participate in the Sun-Pluto semi-sextile, making our personal truth all important in a situation where we seek to gain power and control. Vesta in Scorpio forms a square with Chiron in Aquarius and a trine with Uranus Rx in Pisces, challenging us to overcome our inner demons by no longer investing energy into our hurts and wounds, but dedicating us toward healing and progress instead. With Mars in Sagittarius in trine to Eris Rx in Aries it’s easy to get carried away by the force of our beliefs and convictions, but also possible to reach deep within and connect with our higher Self to let mindfulness influence our attitude, while avoiding the trappings of the ego.

Tarot card of the day is “The Star”, representing belief and hope that things will continue to improve. We have inner faith and believe that we are following the right path. This card shows that we are in a position where we are now able to give of ourselves by letting the light out, while also being open to receive and allowing a flow of love and light to come to us as well as radiate from us. We may be able to gain fresh insight into an old problem and inspire others or make them feel better about themselves, using clarity of vision and spiritual insight.
