Astro-Notes on May 26, 2021 – Total Lunar Eclipse/Sagittarius Full Moon

Early this morning at 4:13 am PDT transpired the Sagittarius Full Moon, which is also a Super Flower Blood Moon Eclipse. This is the first Total Lunar Eclipse in more than 2 years and it coincides with a Super Moon. It’s the biggest and brightest Full Moon for the year.

A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon align in close proximity to the Moon’s Nodes and the Moon passes through the deeper shadow cast by the Earth, the umbra, where no direct light from the Sun can reach her. However, the Earth’s atmosphere refracts light, while at the same time filtering it, which illuminates the Moon with a series of varying red colors, depending on the prevailing conditions.

Lunar eclipses are intense and felt more internally. They can bring things to an end, shift our perception and trigger unconscious and psychic issues, which constitute our shadow material and have now a chance to be brought ‘into the light of awareness’. Because this particular Lunar Eclipse is conjunct the South Node of the Moon, we can expect a release of accumulated emotions and insights that is an outpouring on a soul, cellular and emotional level and could really ‘fire us up’ – for better or for worse.

Because the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse is highlighting the Sagittarius/Gemini axis, our beliefs, assumptions or truths or what we think is the truth based on our interpretation of data, facts and information are affected and even illuminated and so is our faith, our quest or mission, our reach or the information and messages we are spreading, our understanding of the issue at hand and how we reach our conclusions.

Multiple storylines, various accounts, assumptions or claims together with widespread difference of opinions and viewpoints have been obscuring the bigger picture for us for a long time. The more important is it to keep ourselves well informed and make good use of our reasoning faculties, especially since there are two sides or several angles to every story.

Situations involving social settings, the law, justice, broadcasting and the world at large are coming to a head now and events set in motion back in December of 2020 at the time of the Solar Eclipse are brought to culmination or a turning point.

Eclipses are harbingers of change with the potential to bring a particular set of circumstances to an end. Vesta in Virgo’s sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn together with the tense octile configuration consisting of Venus in Gemini, Ceres in Taurus and the Pallas-Neptune conjunction in Pisces indicate that a critical point has been reached regarding the vaccination effort and our commitment to get on top of the pandemic situation. Many countries are readying themselves to ease the pandemic-imposed restrictions and laying out roadmaps to reopen the economy in carefully planned steps. It seems the waiting and ‘suffering’ is over. However, it won’t happen overnight, but it’s going to be a slow, step by step process.

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon at 5:25 Sagittarius states:

“A game of cricket. Keynote: The development of skill in group situations testing collective goals – GROUP-SOLIDARITY.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 5:25 Gemini states:

“Workmen drilling for oil. Keynote: The avidity for that knowledge that ensures wealth and power – AMBITION.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases”, Pages 213 and 92-93, respectively)

Suggested by these symbolical images is that our determination and hard work will drive our success as a collective.

Tarot card of the day is the “King of Pentacles”, suggesting that we put quality over quantity and are good stewards of our life and energy. We pursue self-sufficiency and self-reliance, gain progress one step at a time and work toward a goal with firm resolve. Moreover, we handle any situation competently, meet commitment and promises and can be counted on.

Astro-Notes on May 11, 2021 – Taurus New Moon

A new lunation cycle begins today at 21:17 Taurus at 11:59 am PDT. This fixed earth sign is ruled by Venus, currently residing in Gemini.

New Moons are potent times to set intentions in sync with the energies being seeded at this time. In Taurus, this concerns our physical senses, wellbeing, happiness, gratification, prosperity and ‘fertility’ as well as our attachments, values, assets, talents, worth, emotional security and materiality.

The Taurus New Moon is connected to Neptune in Pisces with a supportive sextile, opening a channel for spiritual guidance and inspiration that helps us in our pursuit of sustenance, security and stability. Moreover, we have a chance to fulfill our needs if we practice patience and listen to our intuition.

However, with Mercury in Gemini involved in a tense sesqui-quadrate aspect to retro Pluto in Capricorn we’re struggling mentally and have a hard time making decisions, not knowing which sources of information or claims to trust. This not only complicates matters unnecessarily, but also puts us in a tough spot. Therefore, it is important to remain objective and follow developing storylines, while keeping our wits about ourselves. Mercury is moving into a trine to Saturn in Aquarius next, indicating that we’re gaining control over our mind as the result of a lesson we learnt over time and by following our own authority and expertise.

Mars in Cancer forms a square to Chiron in Aries and a sextile Uranus in Taurus, challenging us to defend and protect ourselves from threats, alienation and other problems or wounds we might encounter or incur by taking our chances and making choices in support of our intentions and actions.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 21:17 Taurus states:

“White dove flying over troubled waters. Keynote: The spiritual inspiration that comes to the individual in the overcoming of crisis – A REWARD TO THE FAITHFUL.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and its 360 Symbolical Phases, Page 84”)

Suggested is to look for signs and messages, to meditate on the issues that trouble us and consult with spirit.

Tarot card of the day is the “7 of Cups”, representing a multiplicity of possibilities and choices that need to be looked at for their potential – real or imagined – as well as for their basis in reality, whereby we need to be aware that not all that glisters is gold and that less enticing options might turn out to be great opportunities. Therefore, it is important now to narrow our focus.
