Astro-Notes on April 7, 2014 – nurturing self-promotion

The waxing Cancer Moon’s square to the Aries Sun at 4:30 am EDT marked the First Quarter Moon event in the Aries lunation cycle. This ‘crisis in action’ challenges us to be more self-supportive and caring toward ourselves. As the Vesta-Pallas sextile perfects together with the Mars-Juno opposition, we have a chance to ‘revise our attitude’ (keynote of the Sabian Symbol for the Aries New Moon) if we reinvest in ourselves and live in the moment, recognizing that only if we love ourselves can we do the same for others. Mercury will make ingress to Aries at 11:34 am EDT, where he will be traversing until April 23, which corresponds to a period during which we focus on Beingness as well as on beginnings and new initiatives, make new connections and communicate our intentions and will.

Tarot card of the day is the 6 of Wands”, suggesting that things are changing in a positive way. There is the possibility of acclaim and acknowledgment. It could be our day to shine or we could be coming out on top. We strive to be successful and seek to promote ourselves more frequently in order to gain the recognition we desire. However, it is important that we keep the ego in check.

Astro-Notes on April 13, 2013 – a strong perspective nature

Juno in Aquarius squares retrograde Saturn in Scorpio and casts a sextile to Uranus in Aries, challenging us to remove

the obstacles, which are preventing us from making progress or headway and from changing relationship dynamics that have proved to be counterproductive, frustrating or limiting, now that we have a chance to introduce new trends in relationship situations where the roles need to be altered, reformed or upgraded. After the Moon’s ingress to Gemini at 10:12 am EDT will we feel more lighthearted and easy-going, while seeking to connect with others and to engage in exchanges. Mercury will make ingress to Aries at 10:36 pm EDT, where he will be traversing until May 1, which corresponds to a phase when we enact our ideas and plans, initiate communication and connections and when our mind is on fire in every sense of the word, while our perception is sharp and we show strong agility carried out in swift and dynamic movements.

Tarot card of the day is the “Queen of Cups”, symbolizing a seeker of inner transformation who possesses a strong perspective and perceptive nature. Suggested is furthermore that we are acknowledging our emotions and feelings. We trust our intuition and listen to our inner voice as well as to the sensations and impressions we’re getting from our environment. In our interactions with others we need to empathize and show true compassion, helping people along their chosen pathway. This is a day when we’ll be following the lead of our heart.

Astro-Notes on April 16, 2012 – social pressures

After the Moon’s ingress to Pisces at 1:37 am EDT, we’re more sensitive and receptive in our habitual reactions, which allows us to attune ourselves to the rhythm of our environment. As Venus in Gemini casts a tense sesqui-quadrate to retrograde Saturn in Libra, we feel the pressure of unresolved social and relationship situations (Venus’ dispositor Mercury is in the last degree of Pisces), where rearrangements have to be made and priorities and personal values have to be adopted accordingly. Once Mercury re-enters Aries at 6:42 pm EDT, where he will be traversing until May 9, a period of dynamic and determined communication and exchange begins that will spur our thought process and mobility and this will also affect how we respond to and evaluate our circumstances. Uranus in Aries’ perfect alignment with the nodal axis (trine to the North Node in Sagittarius and sextile to the South Node in Gemini) indicates that we made progress what our long-term future prospects concerns as this prolonged phase of irritation, personal chaos and restlessness is coming to an end and we now know how to proceed. Thus, we have a chance to not only move on from, but to reform past patterns of thinking and connecting.

Tarot card of the day is the “4 of Cups”, suggesting that we need to re-evaluate our situation and look deep within to find the truth or path we’re searching. It is essential that we examine our feelings and thoughts to gain clarity. An offer has been presented to us that will continue to be there during the time of reflection and contemplation. Moreover, we’re reminded that we cannot take everything for granted and need to count our blessings. We are the only limiting factor to our endless gain. It is up to us to open ourselves and reach out. Awareness of the natural flow of abundance and enhancement is critical. Fresh enthusiasm and a sense of adventure are required.

Personal Note: Since today is one of my days off work for this week, my intention was to work on the unfinished charts, which are awaiting completion, an endeavor where I have become quite desperate lately with all the mailing going on I seem not to be able to get a handle on (Venus sesqui Saturn Rx). I was almost finished with my blog post (I had already started working on yesterday afternoon when I got a message from my co-worker, whose shift I had signed up for, that our shift change wasn’t approved and that she therefore would have to drive in and have to work the shift. After re-thinking the whole episode, I had called in at work to make sure we weren’t making a mistake in this regard and would you believe it – the shift change was actually approved, which meant I went to work – however, this is a whole different story and then not so different, because it shows the constant diversions of my attention I have to deal with and thus why this blog post didn’t get completed in the first place), as I got a new message from a friend who is going through a difficult time in her private life to which I needed to respond to quickly and then Christina’s name popped up on Facebook, which reminded me that we actually had set up a skype meeting for this morning (Uranus sextile SN in Gemini). That was that for this post. While I was talking to Christina, more mails came in, among them one from my daughter in order to make laundry arrangements. Well, after everything was finally said and done, I noticed that we had a power outage, just before I was going to publish this post. The outage lasted over 5 hours, for the entire afternoon! I had just put a pot with lentils on the oven to cook and simmer and realized that I was actually lucky that I had bought some lettuce, tomatoes and English cucumbers so that I could prepare myself something for lunch that didn’t have to be cooked. After I had eaten though, I was getting so tired that I thought I should go to the post office and check my mailbox and then go on a walk, because it is pretty warm and looked like a real nice day, but once I was on my way, the storms pounding the area were so annoying that I couldn’t enjoy the walk. High winds swiped the dust off the ground and right into my eyes, while at the same time wiping them with strains of my ponytail, which really hurt and made me fighting back tears. When I returned home I was so tired that I had to lie down on the couch and slept for the rest of the afternoon and that’s how effective I was on this day!!! I guess it’s the pressure from the storm system that affected my body, especially with the Moon in sensitive Pisces – whatever – what a waste of a day!

Astro-Notes on March 2, 2012 – getting our head above water

Mercury made ingress to Aries at 6:40 am EST, where he will be traversing until March 23 and then again from

April 16 until May 9 due to an impending retrograde, the shadow of which began on February 27 and will end on April 23. So, at the first date (February 27), when Mercury was still in Pisces, we might have gotten a glimpse or hint at what this retrograde is about (for me personally it brought up existential questions I have been dealing with for a long time). His travel through the first sign of the zodiac corresponds to a period when our mind is sharp, communication straightforward and exchange of information dynamic and heated, when we start conversations and initiate contacts and when we enact ideas, plans and communication processes and take action in matters of mobility and connectivity. This is followed by the Moon’s ingress to Cancer at 10:08 am EST, which sets us in a nurturing, caretaking mood and makes the environment supportive toward our needs. Therefore, retrograde Mars in Virgo’s semi-square to retrograde Saturn in Libra that is reinforced by Pallas in Pisces’ semi-square to Eris in Aries, urges us to make the necessary corrections and improvements to work out problems where we need cooperation and assistance by taking the initiative and tackling issues we’ve put on the back burner for reasons we can no longer use in this regard. It’s about time that we begin to check off things of a list that seems to be endless.

Tarot card of the day is the “6 of Swords”, which indicates a slight reduction in stress and strain (especially since this card follows the 6 of Wands that brought triumph of victory). Things will be better than they were in the recent past, all of which is helpful to get our head above water (what an apt expression for Mercury’s transit from Pisces to Aries). The bottom has been reached and the process of healing has begun. There is finality in this journey. The future is not yet visible, but the past is definitely over. We’re moving away from turbulence toward calmer times and will need to make a transition that is better for us in the long-term.

Personal Note: With Mercury in Pisces’ last degree quincunx to retrograde Saturn in Libra yesterday I updated my resume and cover letter sample and then, after I got ready to leave to finally fill up my gas tank I noticed upon checking my purse that I hadn’t gotten a receipt for the keys, which had been cut for me at work after the landlord had exchanged the lock of the door to the building I live in. So, I had to call work and was told that I need to bring the keys back in to return them and then get them resold to me in order to get a receipt. Oh well! The good thing is that they do actually work. In my mail I had received the form to change my name I had ordered, which I was going to fill out yesterday. However, it seems this is not the right form after all! Thus, I’ll be heading over to Service Canada this morning for clarification. Moreover, in yesterday’s post I wrote: ‘information sent or received could bring an end to contractual and other imbalanced relationship accounts’ and as I met with the landlord in the afternoon he handed me my damage deposit back, because he had found out that collecting this deposit is illegal. Needless to say that this gesture took quite a few burdens off my shoulder (that was definitely a ‘triumph’ or victory as forecast by the Tarot card of the day). Sadly though, in the worldly news there have been several reports of deaths, which also brought endings to relationship accounts. In the evening, I worked on my taxes again and then realized that it might be better if I let do this a professional once I’ll have my ex’s information. So, I finally sat down and wrote 2 letters to my old aunts, who must be awaiting my mail impatiently, to get this off my list as well.

Astro-Notes on March 9, 2011 – movement

Preceding his Aries ingress at 12:47 pm EST, Mercury in Pisces engages in a semi-sextile with Neptune in Aquarius and participates in the Pallas-Uranus sextile with a sextile and a conjunction, respectively. This suggests a time of reflection and reminiscing, providing us with an opportunity for deliberation as we’re readying us to bring a chapter of our life to conclusion in order to move on. Mercury’s transit through Aries, which will last until May 15 due to a retrograde, is associated with a period of straightforward thinking, of enacting our ideas, initiating communication and contacts and of direct conversation.

Tarot card of the day is the “8 of Wands”, indicating a feeling of positive, dynamic energy, which propels us forward and brings movement, progress and changes in its wake as things are opening up and we’re putting plans into action, thereby completing unfinished business.

Personal Note: We’re filing our divorce papers today as Mercury crosses over J’s natal IC/MC axis to conjunct his natal North Node. With the Aries Point triggered, the personal becomes political – the filing enters the court. Hopefully, things will move forward quickly and without complications.
